We have been to many glamping sites in TX but I have not seen such a beautiful site with a high elevation view. The host made it extra special sending us a small gift to celebrate our anniversary.. A beautiful night under the stars that you won't forget!

Fantastic camping spot! We booked out both of the river spots so that we had more room and privacy. It was perfect! The walk up to the bath house wasn’t bad at all. Facilities were nice and clean and cared for. We didn’t use the WiFi. The sink and electric were very conveniently located. There was an issue with the outlets, but the hosts were super quick to respond and got us set up with alternate electricity sites in the meantime. Incredibly accommodating. Being next to the water was perfect! The dogs loved it. Plenty of flat spots for tents and parking. Beautiful site. I’ve camped quite a bit within about a 3 hour radius of Austin, and this has been the best! Loved it

2 nights at Sparrow Bend River Retreat

Sparrow's Bend is a treasure. The hosts have anticipated guests needs with a well kept camp including access to an air-conditioned bathroom and outdoor shower. We brought wood but ended up running low into our second night and they very conveniently keep a pile of firewood with a venmo QR code. We brought our paddle boards and very easily launched right out of camp, though the water is still very, very low. We were able to explore quite a ways in either direction and just had to carry our boards for little sections at a time. Really the best part of the river is right at Sparrows Bend where we spent most our time watching the sparrows and the fish.

Fantastic camping on some of the most beautiful land in Texas - this place seriously rivals all Texas state parks. Beautiful topography combined with natural springs and diverse wildlife make this ranch a must see. We saw quail, turkey, whitetail, red stag (including an albino), javelina, horned frog, bass, sunfish, etc. The landowner and his assistant were extremely helpful when it came to booking the reservations, driving directions and navigating the property. Also, there are no cattle on the property, which is nice when it comes to walking around (no landmines to avoid).

We loved staying in the Ultimate Privacy Jupe. We swam, fished, paddle boarded and explored all day. The river access was awesome and we enjoyed the site a lot. The bed was comfy and we stayed warm and dry during an evening thunder storm. We will definitely be back.

About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING Free firewood for use during your stay and can make a good deal if you want to take some home! As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2.
