As a young girl, I read "Little House in the Big Woods" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. That book opened my eyes to a different way of living. From that moment on, I dreamed of one day living in big woods somewhere. As an adult, some of those dreams are coming true! We have Casita in the hills in Hill Country Texas! We are a small, beginner homestead and we'd love to share this journey with YOU! Donkeys and deer roam most of the property. We also are raising chickens, ducks, rabbits, a few pet goats and bees. We have camping spots, (2) rv electric hook ups and a small cabin to sleep in. Our property is on 14 acres. We have open pastures and forested areas. Whether you are seeking to escape the city hustle and bustle, or want a small taste of the homestead life, this is a great place to be! We are located about 35 minutes from San Antonio, 25 minutes from Boerne and 15 minutes from the Cowboy Capital of the World, Bandera, TX! We do have a visible neighboring property. Therefore there is the occasional barking, lights, and music that can be heard/seen. We hope you choose to stay here and enjoy your stay!

RV Site #1

Great spot for a family!

Brooke and Tanner’s site was amazing! Stayed here during eclipse week, and it was honestly the highlight of our week. Really cool people, awesome farm, and overall just a very relaxing and fun setup. Couldn’t be more grateful for their hospitality to my family and I.

Persimmon Grove Primitive Camping

Relax in the Shade

I loved camping in Persimmon Grove. We had the spot furthest away near the gate to the donkeys. It felt private and at the same time we got to say hello to others when they walked by to visit the donkeys each day which was lovely. Very shady and comfortable. We were able to fit our SUV tent, a mini-popup and personal toilet shelter all on our space. The hosts were very friendly, accommodating and even provided chopped firewood for our evenings. I would recommend it!

Among the Oaks Primitive Camping

Huge open area! Lots of space!

A huge open area! There were several families all camping there, we each had our own space. Plenty of room for all! Tanner showed us around and introduced us to his animals. Miniature burros and goats. We could see a llama and hear a rooster. Our site included a fire pit with an option to use a larger fire pit close by. It was nestled up against trees with views of the huge yard and close by hills. I would definitely visit again.

La Casita

The cabin was so cute and clean! The owners were so sweet and hospitable! We all got a warm welcome when we arrived. We got to feed the donkeys and the chickens and they were so cute. They provided drinking water, and a smores kit, and plenty of firewood! 10/10 would recommend.

RV Site 3

Beautiful peaceful location. We were far enough away from other campers that we could enjoy our own campfire in peace. Nice free supply of firewood too!

Among the Oaks Primitive Camping

This was our first Hipcamp experience and it was great! Brooke and Tanner were great and welcoming hosts that were personable and made us feel right at home.
