Weekend Trip to Spring Valley Cabins

Beth was extremely nice and very responsive over the app. I was the only one staying with them and they upgraded me to a cabin, which was so generous. In the morning I got to greet their neighbor’s horse and the local bar is 200 ft down the road in an old barn. So the location was both great to get out into nature but also a nice local countryside getaway. Can’t recommend it enough!

This land is absolutely beautiful. The whole set up Tammy and her husband have is peaceful and every bit of a relaxing getaway. Within a short drive of Custer State Park and a few other landmarks about in the area, this was perfect to catch all the spots. Tammy is a hospitality queen, made us feel right at home. We will be returning and spreading the word that this is a 12/10 would recommend place to stay in the Black Hills area!!

Lil Bear Cabin was GREAT! From the moment I arrived, Tammy was so welcoming and helped carry in some of my things. She showed me around and made sure I had everything I needed and more. I arrived while it was dark so it was a treat to explore the camp during the sun rise the next morning. I walked along the trail and said good morning to the friendly horses. I even had deer and turkeys grazing outside my window. There were snacks and a coffee machine in my cabin, a propane fireplace on the porch where I sat and saw some stars, a clean and well stocked bathroom, the perks go on and on. I cant wait to stay here again. On my way out of Hermosa, I got coffee and breakfast at Hermosa Coffee Shop. Would also 110% recommend:) THANKS TAMMY!

The creek features a couple of wide pools. The rest of the creek is fairly narrow with slow moving water. The kids will have a great time exploring the lower acreage. 2024 we added Full hookups to some of our sites, we still offer a few dry camping spots as well. Life's a little slower, people a little more sincere and a handshake still means something! PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TENT CAMPING: I don't have any shower or bathroom facilities. The closest place I know of is the Conoco a mile north of my place on Cleveland St. They have a truck stop and I'm told the shower is nice.
