We absolutely loved our stay! We tent camped with two pups and we all enjoyed our time! The scenery was beautiful and the people were so incredibly welcoming! The food at the bar and grill was delicious with such a fun atmosphere! We stayed karaoke night and had such a fun time! We will absolutely be coming to stay here again!

Booked a site one night and had car troubles, they wouldn’t refund any portion or change the booking to the next night even though the site was not fully booked. I get the refund policy though other Hipcamp hosts were considerate and allowed us to switch the night when we explained the situation. Went to book a site at 5pm the next night once we made it to the park and the bookings had closed even though the office was open till 6 and the campground was fairly empty. Ended up going somewhere else

I booked a tent campsite. I arrived around 6pm, before the advertised office closing time of 8pm and there was no body to be found. The website also advertised 24 hour restrooms and showers, which were all locked up. I called the number on the door, left a message and never received a call back. I understand it was off season for the campground but the website and Hipcamp advertising needs to reflect the change in amenities. I could have saved money and stayed at a rest stop which has a bathroom open all night.

The location was convenient to local attractions. The bathrooms were clean, there are plug ins to charge phones and use hair dryers. They had a breakfast buffet that was perfect for filling up on some protein before heading out. The only negative, was not having a dedicated tent spot. You just find any piece of grass and set up. We either roof top camp, or inside the suv. When we left each day, we weren’t sure if we’d have the spot when we returned. We left some chairs and ice chest sitting in the spot when we left, so it wasn’t an issue. We will stay here again! If you go, have the breakfast.

BAD. This was my worst stay ever. The campground is a huge waypoint for Harley Davison motorcyclists. It was LOUD. At all hours. My iPhone actually gave me a warning that it was detecting consistent sound above safe levels for hearing damage. Other reviews mention the highway noise - honestly that blended into white noise for me. The real issue was motorcycles being revved abruptly at all hours of the night. I car camped and it was so crowded I couldn’t get the door open this morning. Tried to take a shower last night and the water to the whole building cut out part way through. I reported the issue and never got an update if they fixed it. All in all: a fail on every level. Unpleasant, loud, crowded, facilities didn’t work.

Great campground that I was apparently the only tent on so I felt even more secluded away from the main area with a lot of trailers and rvs set up. Toilets and showers were nice and clean. Wish I could’ve stayed when the bar/restaurant was open but I’d imagine it all depends on day of the week and occupancy. Easy to get to, right off the highway but of course that means there is noise from it. It was so calm and nice I ended up staying another night.

I loved this spot so much, I did not want to leave. It's a very quiet area. Although it is a family campground, it felt like a seniors only place. There was only one day with sounds of children playing because there was a catered party event. The train is a nice sound for me, others may not appreciate it. I90 is close by, but that also is no problem. Plenty of showers, laundry, and restrooms. Will definitely come back if ever this way. Oh! And the hosts were a very friendly couple.

It's a great spot to check out what south dakota has to offer in that area with Mount Rushmore about an hour away and the Badlands 1.5 hours. There are many other attractions around as well. I will say as a tent camper you do not have an assigned spot and it will set up shop in a spot that is open.

C-03) Cabin 3 (Shared facilities)
The cabins were very clean the owners attentive the shower houses and bathrooms adequate. they have a little resturaunt and bar right on the property. swimming pool and nice play ground. it was fun to see the kids playing while I was walking the dog. the only gripe is our "cable TV" had one channel and the mattresses were uncomfortable. would stay again. for sure.
