Welcome to the Larson Homestead! Our 13.5 acres has a lovely view of the pasture, creek, and surrounding farms. We have pet goats, cows, chickens, dogs, cats, and kittens! Depending on when you come you could witness baby chicks hatching or baby goats being born or bottled. The goats are super friendly and love to be petted or fed. You can wander around the pasture and creek during your stay. There are many RV spots with the power along with a pool! Firewood is available on site. We reserve the right to prohibit fires if we feel it’s too dry or windy. A picnic shelter is available to use for assistance if extra bedding or space is needed. The picnic shelter is equipped with a loft along with refrigeration, stove, oven, microwave, soon, shower, and a toilet. Next to the picnic shelter is a large area to have a bonfire where you can grill food or just relax around and enjoy the scenery! Along with your stay, we provide being big boards and bags for your entertainment along with a stereo for music. If your family is traveling with four wheelers or dirt bikes we have a large area to explore along with a man-made track that is on the edge of the yard. We are located 11 miles north off of interstate 90. We are 15 miles from Sioux Falls And 6 miles from Garretson (where you have the opportunity to visit Devils Gulch, Split Rock Park, or Palisades State Park!) We have a large area for children to run and play including three different places in the sandbox. Our animals would love to meet you!

Downhome Country Farm is 10 acres of woods and prairie with a large garden, chickens, wild turkeys, guinea fowl, mules, horses, a dog, and bee hives in the pasture. We have two restored vintage campers that sleep 4 people and multiple tent sites. The bathroom and solar shower are shared by all guests. There are 2 sites for self-contained RV's with 20A electric available and water at some sites. 2 tent sites are available until the hay season (August) then the pasture is wide open tent camping. Horse boarding and camping available too. Each site can request individual fire rings. We have an outdoor community area that has a large fire pit, covered shelter and a woodfired pizza oven that will be in use on some weekends and by request. Local and national touring musicians are known to provide pop up private concerts some weekends and impromptu jam sessions. On occasion, we have outdoor movies and morning yoga along with great activities in the surrounding community too. Or just hang out in the hammocks and soak in that downhome country feeling. Come and enjoy the great outdoors on our farm!

Pleasant Valley is located Eastern Dakotas and is a beautiful oak savannah nestled in a valley with Cobb Creek running through the property. Guests have commented on it being one of the most scenic places in this prairie region. Nature trails abound along with wildlife and many different types of plants and birds. Property description Our property is nestled between Hwy 385, the Mickelson Trail, and the National Forest. We are located between Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park along Hwy 385 and the Mickelson Trail; about 30 minutes from Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Mountain. The nearest towns with restaurants are Pringle, (2 miles S); Hot Springs, (24 miles S), Custer, (9.5 miles N).; Hill City, (24 miles N), and Rapid City, (50 miles N). The blacktop driveway grants easy access for every type of vehicle. A couple of ponds, creeks, and dispersed willow, pine, and aspen trees enhance the diversity and beauty of the landscape. It is peaceful here and we enjoy sharing it with our guests during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Plenty Star Ranch Retreat has our home, a big pole barn (RV storage), a garage/wood workshop with an attached restroom for all guests, a regular hot water shower cabin, 2 small home-built camping log cabins, 7 RV sites, 9 clearly marked tent and car-camping sites, and several water hydrants fed by our well, providing great quality drinking water. 2 pets maximum per campsite, no pets allowed when booking a cabin. Check-In is 2 pm to 9 pm; Check-Out is 10 am for the cabins and 11 am for all other sites.

Weekend Trip to Downhome Country Farm

The property was lovely and the owner's are so friendly and make you feel right at home. Loved all of the animals, especially their beautiful dog, Millie. The solar shower was a treat and there were so many decorations and gardens to see. We left with eggs, veggies and great memories. I would highly recommend and hope to return myself one day!

Carole had beautiful and comfy spots for tent camping. She a had a beautiful property and her animals were pretty great. Carole herself was exceptional and went put of her way to ensure my entire family had a great time. Id highly recommend staying here and getting some fresh eggs!

My friend Ben and I were riding / bike camping along the George Mickleson gravel trail from Edgemont SD to Deadwood SD. We chose Plenty Star ranch due to nearest camp/cabins northbound deadwood SD. Off season it was not busy, the Point of Contact Isa was nice. Shower and restroom clean! WiFi! At camp wow!

I am super happy that I booked the Teepee site on top of the hill. We enjoyed the privacy and proximity to the amenities. The stars were spectacular and we enjoyed how close Custer was to our tourist destinations (Mount Rushmore and Deadwood). The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot with great water pressure. The only drawbacks I would point out are road noise and the dry pond, (Clearly outside of their control), but I was glad I didn’t book the tent site near there. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

It was a nice location. We were able to find it easily. We were unable to stay since it was raining and we had a roof top tent we could not get wet. We did get our farm fresh eggs and Martin was very responsive and understanding when we had to change our plans.

This beautiful spread just north of Pringle is a peaceful and relaxing homebase for adventures in the Black Hills. Our full hookup spot was under shade most of the day. Stars forever in the evening!

Partial RV Site No. 4 is to the left camper's left side (Site No 3) in this picture. The black pickup sits on Site No. 1. It is a back-in or pull-in site with a few fruit trees at the end of it.

Great piece of land, close to the highway so it is easy to get to and easy to find, also if you want to head into Custer, it's an easy drive. Though if you're not a fan of a little traffic noise then I'd choose something else. Saw the owner come and take care of the amenities every day and she was so pleasant to talk too! The kids LOVED running around and playing. The dog loved napping in the grass. Firepit was great and the area for the tent was nice and flat. The Teepee on the site was cute, but it did have a nice little spider family and maybe a little mold problem so definitely just make sure kiddos/dogs are aware to not play inside of tent. Overall a nice place to spend a long weekend!

The property and sites are beautiful and the farm animals were a plus and no bother at all. A very pleasant and restful stay and the hosts could not have been more helpful. The cowboy shower was a first for me! Brisk but awesome, nonetheless. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
