This campsite was absolutely beautiful! The location was perfect—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by stunning scenery. Being just off the Mickelson Trail made it incredibly convenient for biking and exploring the area while still feeling private and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway in a gorgeous setting and especially to those who are looking for a spot to sleep while biking the trail. We started in Deadwood - it was 30 miles. We stopped in Rochford for dinner and Ice cream before heading to the site. It Thank you for sharing your land with us! We will be back!

We had a great weekend on the land. Very secluded and quiet. I echo other reviews, high clearance or 4x4 needed to get to the best camp spots. Close enough to explore all the Black Hills have to offer. Will be back.

What a beautiful site! Off grid camping, peace, quiet. Coordinates provide good directions. First site worked for our class c with some leveling. There are two other beautiful tent sites if you follow the trails. Dogs loved running freez lots of wildlife. Close to attractions. Can get windy so pack accordingly. If you're looking for off grid camping, gorgeous views, and solitude would definitely recommend!!!

I had a great solo weekend on the property. Very peaceful and easy to find. I only wish there wasn't a fire ban in place when I was there.
I recommend 4WD for the site I camped at because the trail was steep, but the other trails would be fine as long as you have enough ground clearance. From the GPS pin, the turnoff I took was at the next yellow and black sign marking the curve in the road.

Camp spot was beautiful, good views, easy access got a nice spot on the split to the left felt like we could of got a better spot lacked a bit in communication from host but not the biggest deal really happy with our choice would definitely recommend to others !

Fantastic campsite, far from any other people with a good view of the forest. Easy driving distance to Custer state park and many good hiking spots. We saw lots of wildlife on the area as well. I’ll definitely camp here again

It's the wilderness for sure. This was our third stop in a drive across the country and I thought it was quite enjoyable. The place was easy to access and had plenty of places to setup camp. If you're pulling a trailer it seemed as if there was just one place big enough to turn around and I wasn't gonna gamble and drive deeper into the property to find out if that's true or not, lol. Would visit again.

Would highly recommend Daniel’s Hipcamp, The Wilderness! If you’re looking for something away from the crowds of Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood and all the other sights of the Blackhills, this is it! There are still trails close by but the campsite is in an amazing spot with great views. Loved our time there!

We booked this last minute after spending a week wishing for a quiet camping experience.
It was perfect! There had been some rain recently and the hill to the left was a bit washed out to try to get our rented van up it but we settled in the flat spot on the bottom of it. The road noise from the side by sides cruising by went on until 8-9pm but then quieted down. Caught a beautiful sunset and star gazed until the mosquitos found us!
Would definitely recommend camping here.

Beautiful spot, surrounded by nature, unbelievably quiet and peaceful. no service starting 30 min away from the site so make sure you have the gps coordinates!

I loved this spot, so remote. It is close to a dirt road, but i didnt hear a single car past 9pm. I highly recomend 4 wheel drive or a higher clearance vehicle if you want to go deeper into the sight, a Smart Car can only make it to the first camping spot. Beautiful spot to watch the sunrise over the hills.

I recommend this! Once you pull in there is a circular wide opening with logs surrounding it. A long road then goes into the land; I only followed it a bit until I found good landing spot to camp. Pretty steep and terraced land with beautiful pines and natural granite rocks.
The beauty of the area speaks for itself. Important tip - take a screenshot or write down the directions before you go. Eventhough I knew the general area, I had zero service once I arrived (or assumed I had arrived). I couldn't open the Hipcamp app to check the directions to be sure I turned off on the correct "address" / land.

The Wilderness was the perfect day 1 camp spot for our group on our 3 day Mikelson Trail ride from Deadwood to Edgemont. It's near MP78 (just before Tunnel C) about 3/4 miles off the trail. It's on top of a knoll with options for sun or shade- we felt like royalty having 80 acres to ourselves.

2nd time here from 1000 miles away and for good reason. Private. Great views from so many spots at the site. The sky is amazing. Bring binoculars.
Easy to get to. This time I used it as base camp for Devil’s Tower and Needles Highway and other local sights. As well as spent ample time at the sight. The loudest thing there was my tinnitus. Thanks again!

The views are incredible. The stars are out of this world if you pardon the pun. Daniel communicated well before and during my 5 night stay. I have a Chevy Colorado off road edition and an off road travel trailer and I had no problem going to the end. Finding a level spot will be a challenge at least for me it was. I did occasionally get Verizon if I went about as far as you could go without going off the cliff. My dog loved it. We saw deer and turkeys and tons of chipmunks and pine squirrels.
