2 nights at Bear Den Cabins & Camp

The atmosphere is calming and peaceful, away from any hustle and hustle of tourism. Bears Den is less than an hour from any popular attraction in the area, including Mt Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. Available are some canvas tents, set up like a bedroom at home. Also available is a small cabin, as well as sites to set up your own tent. I was able to use my hammock, with a few trees close enough to do so, in my tent site. Tammy is very warm and welcoming Hostess. She'll do anything within her power to make you feel more comfortable. She helped make my South Dakota visit the best I could imagine.

Clean and well laid out campground. Everything is tucked in the trees, so plenty of shade. Lots for kids to do with mini golf, bags, pool, and live music Friday evenings. This was a solo trip, but will definitely be bringing the family back!

Great slice of paradise right along the creek. Shower house in easy walking and plenty of space to roam and watch the night sky.

3 nights at HTR Black Hills

We stayed in the glamping tent! It was so cute and well laid out! The rainfall shower was relaxing and had the best water pressure. The description of the tent said one queen bed and one twin over full bunk- it was definitely twin over twin so max stay would be 4 people. And I know it’s outside and camping but there were a ton of spiders:) No complaints as it is camping but it surprised me how many of those little guys made their way in to the tent! The campground was clean and so many things to do including swimming, hot tub, jumping pillow, horseshoes, mini golf, live music and food truck on Friday night. The campground does sit on a busy highway so the pool and golf area are a bit noisy- the campsites close to the road would likely hear traffic noise as well. The glamping sites are in back of the park and very quiet with a nice forest view. It was really close to a ton of area attractions- we did Bear country 2 minutes away, Cosmos mystery area 10 minutes away, Mount Rushmore 20 minutes away, and Custer State Park about 35 minutes away! 10 minutes to Rapid City businesses if you need groceries or forgot something.

Weekend Trip to Battle Creek Camping Resort

Battle Creek was perfect for us! Unique lodging, clean, dark, quiet. Took a nice walk. Greeted by wild bunnies… would absolutely stay here again! The aliens were a riot! You have a great thing going here!

Great place to camp! Showers were hot. Sites were close, but far enough apart to feel alone when sitting around the fire pit. Pine trees and the views were beautiful. Host was super accommodating for late night arrival as we were coming from a view states over. Will definitely stay here again if we're in town! Super close to Black Hills National Forest and Wind Cave for nature lovers!

Weekend Trip to Bearded Buffalo Resort

We only stayed one night at Bearded Buffalo, but it was a great stop. Super easy in and out with big, full hook-up sites — perfect for our RV. It’s really close to Custer State Park, which made it ideal for exploring before we hit the road again. The property is peaceful with a nice creek running through the back side. The hosts were friendly, and everything was clean and well-maintained. They have a few nice looking cabins there but I didn’t go inside. Also the bathhouses were clean with nice showers. Wish we had more time to stay, but it worked out perfectly for a quick, hassle-free stop. We’d come back!

We loved our stay here. We were on the lower section of land and the view is beautiful. It's quiet and peaceful and our kids had room to explore and run! The sites and surrounding area are kept well maintained and clean. When we asked if we could extend our stay by a day, Garret was quick to respond! We will recommend this campground to others and hope to stay here with our family in the future.

The lodges, domes and tents that we have are fully furnished with linens, towels and a fully stocked coffee bar. Our most praised amenity is our bath house. This features private full restrooms with individual sinks, showers and toilets. We strive to provide a family friendly campground. Therefore, our quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am. No loud music or disruptions to other guests, of any kind, are allowed. At any time during your stay, you need assistance, please reach out by phone call, text or email. We thank you for choosing to stay with us and are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your families memories. Check In: Check in time is 4:00-9:00pm MST. We are self-check in but it is very dark when the sun goes down and the phone service can be spotty.
