Looking for a Ma & Pa kind of place? Quiet and tranquil? Well, you found it! The Roost Resort is a campground in Custer, South Dakota, that features 10 cozy cabins for rent with kitchenettes and all the essentials. We also have RV sites and one tent site, all nestled in nature among pine trees, deer, wild turkeys, and other critters. BBQ grills, fire pits, a full bathhouse, and a small playground with a swing set, horseshoe pit, and basketball hoop are all included. We are just a short drive from Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, and only 1.5 miles from Custer State Park. Whether you are on your way to Sturgis, heading underground at Wind Cave National Park, planning to fish at one of the local lakes, or just stopping by for well-deserved rest and relaxation, contact us to start your vacation. We have been voted one of the best RV parks in Custer and are happy to share our park for the very first time on Hipcamp. What makes us unique is that we are exclusive to registered guests and do not allow ATVs or side-by-sides on the property, allowing for a comfortable, quiet, and relaxing stay. Our RV park overlooks the 1874 permanent camp of Lt. Col. Custer during his Black Hills Expedition; pictures of this encampment are displayed in the Custer County 1881 Courthouse Museum. Site # 1 is a 30 amp water/electric site offering a picnic table and fire pit. Situated under many pine trees, this site offers plenty of shade. Site offers a gravel RV pad for easy leveling. Dump station available along with a shower house which is cleaned daily.

Site # 11 is our most sought out site because it allows you to position your rig to get the best view. Featuring 30 Amps and a direct water supply, along with a picnic table and fire pit, you will have the best views in the house. This site gives the best view of the Needles along with General Custer's encampments.

RV Site # 3 is one of two full hook up sites that we offer. This site is our most spacious site and offers a grassy area all to yourself. Almost always shadded by our pine trees, this site features 30 Amp, water and sewer. You have your own picnic table and fire ring and is super close to the shower house.

RV Site # 5 is one of our only 2 full hook up sites. This site is a pull through and is a combination of concrete and gravel for easy leveling. This site features 30 Amp, water a full sewer hook ups. This site also offers a picnic table and fire ring for your enjoyment. Situated under many pine trees, this site is almost always shaded.
