Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp 4 times. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table.
The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing.
Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups.
My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 4 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire.

Highland Meadows Resort sits on 12.5 acres atop a private mesa in Hot Springs, South Dakota. The resort features four private cabins, two glamping tipis, and an earth home on the upper mesa — and a campground on the lower mesa.
Tipis are equipped with a king-size bed, sleeper sofa, and basic kitchenette. There's a shared wood fire pit, laundry facilities, horseshoe pit, and a private bath w/ shower for each tipi. Tipis also come with a pack and play for one extra infant/toddler. Kitchenettes come with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and some basic place settings.

Open April through November, The Retreat is a place of quiet and natural beauty intended to foster social interaction and creative pursuits between artists and community in SE South Dakota. The site is on the far edge of an artist retreat, but hipcampers can enjoy their own private area.
Look out over the river to a farm on the opposite bank. Spend your time watching for wild turkeys, geese, eagles, and an occasional deer. Or hike the river bank or gravel country roads, fish in the river, take part in any Retreat activities if available, photography opportunities, enjoy an evening campfire under the stars.
You might find any type of creative activity in our Main Hall -- a workshop, concert, poetry reading, small theatrical production, or other social gathering. Or just enjoy a quiet evening on the long Main Hall porch. We have a couple grills and an outdoor pizza oven for your special cooking needs. The beauty of Custer State Park and the infamous Needles Highway can be very busy for campers, which is why many of our guests choose to stay with us at Beaver Lake Campground. Our central location and peaceful setting will put you very close to all of the amazing things to see and do in the Black Hills (Paha Sapa in the Lakota language) of South Dakota.
We are open from April 1 to November 1. Pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The water slide closed.
Wonderful News! As of 6/4/22, we have a brand new park-wide Wi-Fi system. Guests dependent on WI-Fi for work will need their own system. Our rural infrastructure isn’t equivalent to big-city Wi-Fi.

As the owners of Beaver Lake Campground for the past several seasons Julian and Kachina Starr are amazed at how fortunate they are to have purchased this very special campground. The Black Hills area is spectacular with so many things to do and see. You could spend a month here and still not see it all. The summer weather is perfect with warm but not hot days and cool summer nights due to the 5,300-foot elevation. Perfect for evening campfires.
Living and working in the Black Hills National Forest is incredible. They feel very happy to be in such calm, peaceful surroundings.
Julian and Kachina have accomplished many updates, and improvements in the time they have been here. Everything from not-so-exciting infrastructure, well pumps, electrical upgrades, painting, swimming pool pump, etc., and have attempted to give this beautiful campground a more inviting atmosphere, comfortable seating on the office patio, beautiful flowers, unique pinecone art, upgrades to the cabins, mini-fridges in all cabins, new mattresses, electrical improvements and more.
The Starr’s 25-year experience in the RV business in Gold Beach, Oregon, and Durango Colorado has given them lots of warm memories and some funny stories too. They look forward to many more great guest experiences greeting and serving old and new friends.

What a lovely place. We had an excellent night with our rv trailer. Hookups all in great shape. Bathroom, shower, and wash station all were excellent. Brian even showed up and gave us a tour of his place, hippy bus, Mount Rushmore, yellow stone, and the bridge troll. what a nice surprise. If we ever come through again we will stay here. And his peacocks are awesome

We had a fantastic time camping in the Hippie Bus on Uncle B’s Produce Farm!! Our two toddler boys had a ball running around the property and Brian was incredibly kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. The weather was not the best for camping but the bus gave us a perfect getaway from tent camping for a night and gave us all the rest and refuel we needed before continuing on our roadtrip!

Uncle B was very accommodating, waiting up for us to show us around the grounds even though we arrived late. He was a great host and we really enjoyed getting to talk to him upon arrival. The hippie bus was very cool and had a groovy theme that we all enjoyed. The land was beautiful, we saw pheasants and geese. Our dogs also enjoyed the trails and open space.

Tammy was incredible and the camp was spectacular! She’s friendly, accommodating, and clearly cares a lot. Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable. We did a lot in the hills, and coming back every evening to a place we could relax and unwind was a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend this campground to everyone!

Tammy the host was fantastic!!!! The grounds were comfortable, the amenities were above what I expected and the time Tammy took to make sure I understood all that I good do while on site and her desire and efforts to make sure to was comfortable during my stay was great.

This campground was centrally located to Hot Springs, easy to find and very convenient for doing things around town. There were two toilets and a third being repaired for all the RV sites. These were very clean. I was the only camper for the RV area so not sure how busy the bathrooms would be with more campers. The property is beautiful and up on a hill, some winds with this but nothing too bad when I was there. I would certainly stay again.

Group trip
This was a nice campsite with full hookups that was pretty central of every place we wanted to go to. I went to Mount Rushmore, Devils tower, Wyoming, deadwood, Custer State Park, wind, cave, and Jewel cave all from using this as my homebase. Everything was nice and clean. The Jimmy John’s there in Rapid City is amazing also.

We absolutely loved staying at Tammy’s!! It was the perfect, peaceful and restful stay that we were hoping for after our long road trip. The trails were perfect for our dog. The restroom and shower facilities were impressive and immaculate. We enjoyed a nice dinner by the fire. Everything was so nice! We plan to come back as soon as we can. Tammy was so kind and ensured our stay was perfect.

Location was beautiful and close to the park, with a stunning view of the Badlands. The welcome team was friendly, and very helpful with local information- Cindy and Dawny and the young lady who was training (sorry I forgot her name) were great!

Tammy was so welcoming and accommodating. I can’t say enough good things about our stay, and I wish we could’ve stayed more than one night. Tammy and her husband clearly put a lot of love and passion into hosting, the amenities were incredible and the even potable water tastes great. Quiet and peaceful site and beautiful to explore.
