There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table. The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing. Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups. My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 4 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire. The Barn loft apartment is a studio apartment with a small galley kitchen and private bath. The Hippie Bus is new for the 2025 season and offers a trip back in time. Highland Meadows Resort sits on 12.5 acres atop a private mesa in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Great rate, roomy camp tent, queen size bed was very comfy, stylish furniture; grilled our steaks in a full size covered area with light, tables, and chairs! The bathrooms are better than any camp ground we have EVER stayed at. We will stay here again when in the area and bring more people and spend more time in the area!

It is so close to Sioux Fall and so much cheaper. It’s very convenient yet quiet and clean. The outdoor shower is nice and secluded. The toilet is very clean. Make sure that you take advantage of the hammock outside and enjoy the little slice of country that they have there so close to the city.! I would recommend this to anyone and I will be staying again!

I can't recommend this place enough. It's one of those places that is so great, you want to keep it to yourself. And at the same time you want to shout it from the mt tops! Tammy and Tim are fabulous hosts that know the area really well. They have created a beautiful little spot with many amenities. It's cozy, inviting and so clean! We are already making plans to go back.

I LOVED camping at Bear Den and I wish I had a longer trip! Tammy has a very clean and well-stocked campsite which completely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend staying here and I hope I can come back! We saw the northern lights here on our first night. I loved it so much that I did end up staying an extra night, and knowing I had a comfy bed with a hot shower to come back to was just the best. That last day of my trip made all the difference in turning a good trip into a great one. Thank you so much Tammy!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was our second stay with Uncle B, & it definitely won’t be our last! The first time we visited was for my oldest daughter’s 15th birthday, & this year we came back to celebrate her 18th. This time we stayed in the Hippie Bus, & it was the perfect little groovy getaway. We had such a fun, relaxing weekend making memories together. Uncle B is truly one of the kindest hosts you’ll meet. You can tell how much he cares about his property & about making sure every guest has an amazing experience. We added the traditional s’mores kit, which was such a fun touch, & he even surprised us with some hippie sunglasses & other groovy goodies that made the stay even more memorable. The property is beautiful, peaceful, & full of charm. If you’re looking for a unique place to unwind, reconnect with nature, & make lasting memories, I can’t recommend Uncle B’s Hipcamp enough. Thank you again for helping make another birthday so special—we’ll definitely be back! ☮️✌️

WOW, WOW, WOW what can I say. This place totally met and far exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a comfy and cozy stay look no further. Yes its off the beaten path and yes its secluded but man oh man does that make it perfect. Pair that with amazing bathrooms and showers and laundry services its 10/10 for me. I have stayed at MANY Hipcamp locations and this quickly became my favorite. Amazing hosts as well that go above and beyond. Please do not change anything !

Weekend Trip to Black Hills Station

We stayed for 3 days at this great campground while traveling as a family of four through SD. This spot is very centrally located to just about everything we wanted to do while in South Dakota, exploring the Black Hills and the Badlands. We visited Custer State Park, Deadwood, Spearfish, Rapid City, and some other places nearby and everything was a very easy drive from this place. The little one-room cabins are great for a couple and 2 kids or could work for a couple and 1 other adult. I would not try to have more kids in the room because it's a queen + a set of twins (a trundle). There is a mini fridge and a microwave in the room + lots of great little shelves so that we could store all of our pantry items. There is nowhere to cook and no picnic table to eat on, so I do recommend bringing a folding table to put outside if cooking on site matters to you. You park right next to your cabin and all of the bathrooms are easy to walk to from all of the cabins. We were in cabin #2 which is right in the middle and has one close cabin next door but it is so quiet there at night. It really didn't matter. The pool was great and my kids really liked it, they provide towels which is awesome. The television is a smart TV so whatever streaming you have at home you log onto. Everything was clean, orderly, and quiet. The staff we spoke with were helpful and friendly. I would 10/10. Recommend this place to my family or friends!

The most serene camp I’ve ever been to! Tammy is a sweetheart and provides everything you could think of! I’ve stayed in both the big cabin and a glamping tent and they were both amazing!! Bathhouse is always sparkling clean! The environment is truly so peaceful and all other campers have been so kind. Also such a great location to stay if you’re interested in visiting Custer and surrounding areas! Definitely will be back and recommending to others!

Easy to find place to camp! A little bit closer to the road than we would’ve liked( could hear road noise as we slept) but I think that was just our spot & not like that at the whole campground. It was a unique experience staying in a covered wagon and nice to not have to put up our tent! We even had deer come up close to eat near our campsite!

This is an absolutely wonderful place to rest your head! After two weeks in tents, my family of three opted for the log cabin. It was clean, cozy, and we all got an amazing night's rest. The shower and composting toilet were very clean, abd you even get to pass by a few chickens on the way. Katie, one of the owners, was a delight to talk to, and made us feel so welcome. On the way out we stopped by their farmers' stand for sourdough, bagels, and cookies. This is definitely someplace we'll come back to!!

After a long day if driving this was the perfect stop for us. Brian introduced us to his farm, dogs, cats, chickens, turkey, pheasants, and guineas. We had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed a fire, and saw a georgious sunset. He is a wonderful host. Thank you Brian for sharing your slice of heaven with us.
