Black Hills Station

Great spot for the pool and bar. Site was ok. They only had a few sites for shade and they were taken. Their photos show only the one shaded site. So felt slightly deceived. The description stated full sun sites. Guess I should have read more carefully. The camp sits right on the back of the highway. Full highway noise all night. I'm a pretty sound sleeper. It woke us up several times. The showers were amaxing. Clean and best I've ever seen. I loved the club house and the pool was very nice!

Super quick off the highway option for an overnight. I was in the tent area. It was a clean and well maintained space. Bathrooms and showers, the one that I specifically used, was also very well kept!

Great, centrally located cabins

We stayed for 3 days at this great campground while traveling as a family of four through SD. This spot is very centrally located to just about everything we wanted to do while in South Dakota, exploring the Black Hills and the Badlands. We visited Custer State Park, Deadwood, Spearfish, Rapid City, and some other places nearby and everything was a very easy drive from this place. The little one-room cabins are great for a couple and 2 kids or could work for a couple and 1 other adult. I would not try to have more kids in the room because it's a queen + a set of twins (a trundle). There is a mini fridge and a microwave in the room + lots of great little shelves so that we could store all of our pantry items. There is nowhere to cook and no picnic table to eat on, so I do recommend bringing a folding table to put outside if cooking on site matters to you. You park right next to your cabin and all of the bathrooms are easy to walk to from all of the cabins. We were in cabin #2 which is right in the middle and has one close cabin next door but it is so quiet there at night. It really didn't matter. The pool was great and my kids really liked it, they provide towels which is awesome. The television is a smart TV so whatever streaming you have at home you log onto. Everything was clean, orderly, and quiet. The staff we spoke with were helpful and friendly. I would 10/10. Recommend this place to my family or friends!

We were passing through on our way west a d needed a place to tent camp for a night. Very convenient location. Bathrooms with showers are awesome and clean! Great communication from hosts! Would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area!

This was a nice clean and relaxing place to spend the night. When I got there, the campground office was closed and had a phone number on the door. I texted to let them know I was there and just picking a spot (no assigned site or process of pick-your-own shared) without a response. The showers were clean and private and the few other campers were friendly. There is a part that’s a bit confusing on the listing—it says “no campfires” and also lists fire pits as being available at every site. The tent site listing says every site comes with “picnic table, fire pit, grill and trash can”. There was a shaded clean picnic table, but no fire pit, grill, or trash can”. The other part I wanted to share in case it impacts folks’ planning, especially with mobility considerations, is that it says on the listing “bathroom/showers just a short drive away” but on all sides of the bathroom area it says no parking. Overall nice spot, but the hosts could improve the accuracy of the listing so campers know what they can expect.

Really good clean. Great manager on site.. special mention the bathrooms several times during the day clean, very nice. Every time we need to go they were clean. Overall mixed review. The amenities were very good. Good quality hookups. The campsite is conveniently located near the highway so it’s a good stop for travelers. Individual sites in the campground are found close to and further back from the highway. The ones close to the highway are subjected to traffic pollution. We did not stay in the back so I cannot comment on those. We have a popup. So unless you have a noise proof RV do not take sites closer to highway. No, it does not get quiet at night (traffic-wise for sites nearer the highway).

I rolled in a little after 7pm, and it was quite easy to do an after hours check-in. The bathrooms were clean, towels were soft, and everything was just right after a long drive. Both the mattress and the bedding made it really tough getting up—I was so comfortable! Would happily include this as a stay on any future road trips!

I had a great stay! The host accommodated my late check in, and their instructions helped me get into the cabin without incident. I was impressed by how clean, comfortable, and well-constructed the unit was. Hardly a rustic cabin. It was a luxurious one-night stay, and I hope to return one day.

I was happy with these camp grounds because they were centrally located in between lots of the places we wanted to visit such as Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, Sturgis, and Keystone. It was also close to the Rapid City airport. The restaurant located in front was clean and had good food. It was a good experience.

I liked the fact that there was a Restaurant/ Bar on the property, all the staff was nice and friendly. The Bathrooms were neat little triple stalled units with air movers so they didn't get steamy when showering.

Our stay at Black Hills was great! We were welcomed and given an overview of the place and where we would stay for the night. The campsite and showers were very clean, and there was a restaurant on site which served a delicious meal. We would definitely stay here again!

pros: the bathroom/ shower rooms were very clean, I mean immaculate. the tent sites are flat it's not that far from all the destination in the area it's very centralized. Not a lot of camp noise super dog friendly !!! cons it's between highway 90 and Sturgis Rd so while there isn't camp noise from other people it's never quiet because of the traffic noise. i stayed there about a week. and I didn't sleep well. all the tent sites are right against fence which is right next to Sturgis Rd ..so little to no privacy. over all I would stay here again .
