A 40-acre isolated forest paradise, our property has several places to dry camp with your tent or with your trailer/RV. Green Crest is an active Memorial Park (cemetery) adjacent to Highway 18 between Portland and the Oregon coast on the South side of Sheridan. This property makes a great stop over while en route to your final destination, but is also a great getaway if you'd just like to relax in a natural setting while having conveniences near by. **if you have an rv that you are planning to back into the site, please enter via the 'exit' as it will allow better positioning to back in. otherwise use the drive marked entrance.**
If you have young ones, the park next door has a playground and a stocked fish pond. We also have a pond on sight that is perfect for viewing birds, beaver and having morning coffee. In the early 1980's the family began planting grapes on the property and now the vineyard is the predominate feature for the farm. GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family.
The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6).
Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep.
Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Your experience will certainly be unique to the season.
Your host Jim Toler represents the fifth generation of the farm and will happily share stories of the farm and it's history.
GeerCrest Farm is truly an off-the-beaten-path gem.

All of Rock Crick Acres is on a stream!!!!! Who doesn't love water? This hidden gem is only 1/3 of a mile off the highway yet all you can hear is the flow of the water from Rock Creek which flows along the 2 acres. There is plenty of spots to toss your tent. Personally, I prefer the bank overlooking the stream. Cool your feet on a hot summer day in Rock Creek (the main attraction). Enjoy the evenings around the fire pit for an extra $15/day which includes the firewood. There are complimentary tables, BBQ, chairs. Did you know the coolest porta-party in the galaxy awaits your visit? Yep, true.
Attractions: Spirit Mountain Casino is only 4 miles away, The Oregon coast is a 25 minute drive as well as plenty of vineyards. Also enjoy 100+ miles of hiking trails. The trail head is only 1 mile from camp. I'm available to answer any questions you have and look forward to your visit.
We ask if the ground is wet (rain for 24+ hrs) you keep your car on the gravel driveway and not drive in the grass (causing ruts). Don't be a turd. Respect the Hideout. If you plan on partying and/or staying up late around the campfire, don't book this. I have neighbors and respect them. Go do your party booking elsewhere, please. Lastly, if you are bringing dogs, you'll most likely get a bit of barking from the dogs to the east for the 1st hour. I just want to be honest and warn you.

This is such an inviting camp with lots of little details to discover while you roam around. Having access to a porta potty is really nice and getting my camper van flat was a breeze with the land being very well kept and mostly flat all around. The dedicated fire pit was perfect for roasting hot dogs for dinner, and the sound of the creek nearby put us all to sleep. I would absolutely recommend camping here if you're looking for a cozy, family friendly spot.

We have to say that we were tempted to say no, don't visit here, because it is so good we don't want it to get overloved.
But choosing honesty and forsaking silence, we have to say this is among the top three Hipcamp sites we've ever had the privilege of staying in. From the clear communication, the warm welcome, and the exquisite site, we know we'll be back soon and often.
And the wine? Outstanding.

Rachel communicated well and was helpful with information at check in. The grounds and facilities were as described and made for a comfortable stay. Rachelle described the fact that the guard dogs were working dogs and would bark at night. It may have been an unusual night with coyote activity but the dogs barked for the majority of the night making sleeping feet away in a tent difficult. Ear plugs are provided in the building which was nice but a mention on the website description would be helpful for tent campers. Beautiful spot!

Very relaxing time with unexpectedly pretty scenery. The lavendar farm is nesteled in the rolling hills of Silverton, OR. and is a short drive to town or to Silver Falls. Loved the hillsides filled with Christmas trees.
Families would love this property. Goats, sheep, chickens, horses, etc. a fun experience for respectul kids. Note - the goats will jump, so give the little ones a heads up. Expecially enjoyed the early morning visits by the chickens. We'd definitely return - even with the early (4:45 AM) rooster wake up alarms!
Best part was the hosts were helpful and had a great hands off approach. Animal care staff was very sweet and took time from her many feeding chores to let us feed and pet the goats, sheep and alpaca.

The property and common areas including picnic and fire areas were expansive and beautiful. The indoor kitchen/bath area was super convenient and clean. The sites don't offer alot of privacy but even with both spots taken there's plenty of space to have pets and although one spot is right in front of the house it was very quiet (need a long cord to plug into that spot). Would be a great tent camping location too. Dog barking is low tone didn't bother us a bit. Would definitely go back.
