Nights are quiet with faint to no road noise or light pollution. The driveway and grounds are flat with safe gated parking space for cars/vans and small-med sized trailers, tents etc. It is our pleasure to offer you a safe space to camp with your friends and family. Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

Early summer dawn bird song is just amazing! 🎶 It’s lush and green and feels like the earth is hugging you when you’re camping in the carefully carved in marsh-field nooks. There are various camp “sites” to choose from, in the big field or the smaller meadow, with shade and/or sunshine & you choose which spot you’d like to stay in once you arrive. Feel free to check out all of the Barn and other communal spaces like: the beautiful dome for chillin in, stargazing bed in the tall field grass, the “Wookie Nook”- secret relaxing nurselog tree in the far right of the field, lounge chairs under the Cedar in the meadow, forest walk, the Legacy Lounge-art, antique and family memorabilia room-through the mural painted door…make yourself at home 💝 It is generally quiet and peaceful out here and a super sweet rustic getaway. Weekends of course are more lively, but still plenty room to spread out and have your own peaceful space. You can have solitude out at your camp, or come to the communal barn areas for a more social time. Inside the Barn has a more “hostel” feel with couches and lounge areas, dining room area tables and chairs, dance floor with Labyrinth to walk, stage, hula hoops, fun props, art and antiques to enjoy! The Black light art and ping pong room is not to miss!! There’s a Full kitchen (minus an oven) in the corner of the barn with all you need to cook, serve and eat. (Charcoal)Bbq shed outside the barn next to the communal fire pit. Just past those is the cedar shingled shower house with a wood fired sauna too. (I generally have firewood for sale here.) There’s 4 Porta potties on-site, but also, please feel free to pee outside. 😁 On the way to the HeArt Barn, just off of hwy 101 is Ona Beach state park. There you can kayak, canoe, paddleboard -or some even swim- on the east side of the hwy. The beach and beautiful state park is on the west side with Beaver creek flowing through it and a lovely bridge over it. We are just 5 minute drive form there. There are a couple hikes along the way, and also for jogging or biking.. I believe in living as simply and peacefully as possible, in harmony with all neighbors of all species; -plants, animals and humans- in order to do my part to sustain healthy life on this planet. I know that I am blessed for having been raised here and since I’ve come home, I live in gratitude for this blessing every day; and am so thankful to be able to share some of it with you. GeerCrest Farm and Historical Society manages the front portion of the land and has provided farm-life experiences for all ages since 2007, along with day and overnight experiences for individuals and families. Along with its history, the valley view, small creek and pond, farm animal, and diverse wildlife at GeerCrest is a truly unique experience. On the 20 acre property, we offer two tent camp sites, a tree house, as well as two woodland lodgings. Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional chatter of chickens and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Please say hello to our flock of chickens, barn cats (they may say hello first) and small but mighty herd of sheep. Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties cerca 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, ponder the historic 1854 black cottonwood tree and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Guests are welcome to fresh eggs from the chicken coop. We are fully fenced and gated for your family and pets protection. South Santiam River is less than 1 mile for fishing, kayaking, or rafting. Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs.
