Hey there! I'm a single dad with 2 teen-kids, medical professional, who enjoys country living and sharing it with others. I've lived in far-Northern CA and Southern Oregon my whole life, except for school/training, so State of Jefferson is my home. We bought this land in 2017, when it was just brush, poison oak, and a rotten bridge. Learn more about this land:Campsite on 72 acres along beautiful Jumpoff Joe Creek. Shaded, adjacent to romantically lighted timber-frame private covered bridge (no traffic). Very secluded, but only 1/2 mile from I-5 (no freeway noise, though). Private "beach" area and kid-friendly water play area with wild creatures (turkey, deer, fish, crayfish, water striders, turtles, frogs, etc.). Picnic table, tent spots, and fresh water spigot. Short hiking trails (watch out for poison oak!). Best for tenting, smaller RV's, tree tents, or rooftop tents. >100 yards from nearest structure. 3 nights max except by private arrangement. NO smoking/vaping/marijuana. NO wood fires, but propane fire-ring is available -- bring your own propane tank or pay $5 extra to use my propane tank if available. Good cell service from Google Fi/USCellular. WiFi available on porch of owner's house by request.

You will appreciate the peace and quiet of this little cabin on Rock Creek, situated on 11 acres of forest in Williams Oregon. The only sounds you'll hear are the birds in the trees and the flowing creek water. Enjoy sitting on the deck overlooking the creek or hiking on the property. A bridge crosses Rock Creek where you can hike to the confluence of Rock Creek and East Fork Williams Creek.
Our garden hot tub is a welcome place to soak and enjoy the stars at night.
Our cabin has a kitchenette with a small fridge, sink, 2-burner gas stovetop, teapot crockpot, toaster, and 2-cup coffee maker, plus a few dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, enough for simple meal preparation. Coffee, tea, sugar, and half-and-half are provided, and we usually provide fresh eggs from our happy hens plus butter in the fridge when available.
The sitting area has a woodstove two smaller stuffed chairs, and two bar stools at a counter/bar with views of the creek. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and portable camper toilet, and towels and toiletries are provided. There is hot and cold running water, although the 3-gallon hot water heat limits showers to less than 5 minutes.
A nice wide sturdy ladder leads up to the loft upstairs which has a new 8" full memory foam with fresh linens. The loft is low and cozy which allows the camper to sit up on the bed but not stand up.
A compost toilet is about 100 yards away, and we encourage the use of this toilet as much as possible, and use the little camper portable toilet for midnight emergencies. Bring your flashlights to find the compost toilet as well as the hot tub as the property is very dark.
Our WiFi barely reaches the cabin but texting can be accomplished at the compost toilet or at the garden gate. The password is listed in the binder on the table. Most folks enjoy getting away from the internet for a while. Some games are provided.

Owl Creek Cabin is in the Cascade Mountains above Ashland, Oregon. The cabin is in a Douglas Fir grove, next to a seasonal creek, on five forested acres, and adjacent to BLM lands that are open for hiking. It features a firepit with Adirondack chairs and an outdoor clawfoot tub for a private soak.
You’ll be greeted when you arrive and briefly introduced to some of the cabin's unique features, including attic stairs to the windowed sleeping loft. Downstairs is a sofa and sofabed. The coffee cart kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. An outdoor gas grill with skillet and saucepan and picnic table allow for outdoor dining. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use. Mobile phones connect through WiFi. The cabin is non-smoking. Children 8 and up are welcome.
Recreational areas with miles of trails including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby plus lakes that offer fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and hiking trails.
A 20-minute drive will take you to Lake of the Woods where you can dine, hike, and kayak. Crater Lake National Park is 50 miles away.

The space...
This space has a private, cozy feel to it. The tent consists of a queen-sized bed, memory foam mattress with luxury hotel quality linens, wood burning stove, folding table and chairs, Yeti cooler stocked with ice, and outdoor lounge seating.
The tent also comes equipped with the essentials such as, wool blankets, plush towels, LED lanterns, board games, his and her robes, folding tables and chairs, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and firewood.
The composting restroom has a toilet and motion sensor lighting. On the outside of the restroom is the sink with hot and cold running water. As you continue along the stone path to the outdoor shower, you'll find a rainfall shower head as well as all the products you need, not to mention the most incredible views of the river!!
Our recently added outdoor cookshack comes with a grill, large cooler for refrigerated items, bar sink, trash, and basic cooking and eating utensils. This space also has views of the river and large FarmStyle table and chairs for dining.
The site is equipped with motion sensor outdoor path lighting around the tent and also the along the path leading from the parking area to the tent.
The air is fresh, the space is brand new, and everything is crafted for relaxation and quality time with your friends or loved one. Take a nap in a hammock, play Jenga on the deck, read a book, or take a hike. There is something here for everyone, any time of year.
Guest access
The entire property (10 acers) is for your use. The driveway is gated with use of a keypad for entry.
Other things to note...
Wildlife will often cross the property, mainly deer, turkey, and some elk.
There is over 100 acres of BLM land adjoining our property on two sides with miles of trails to explore. Breathtaking river views abound.
The tent faces west, making for a nightly sunset show from the tent and deck.
The woodstove may look small, but it is not a toy. With a solid fire it will produce 5k btu of heat, more than enough to keep the tent warm on snowy winter days.

Our 40 acre hilltop property overlooks Emigrant Lake, and has great views of the surrounding scenery, including Mount Ashland and Pilot Rock. Situated just 9 miles from downtown Ashland, an easy and scenic 20 minute drive gets you to everything the town has to offer including the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lithia Park, mountain bike and hiking trails, great restaurants, art galleries, and live music. Several wineries are also within a 10 minute drive. We are just adjacent to Emigrant Lake for kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing. Heading farther east, Hwy 66 climbs up into the Greensprings area with more opportunities to explore hiking trails and mountain lakes. Crater Lake National Park is 60 miles away, and makes a great day trip.

This is a remote property that has lots of "nature stuff" including the presence of poison oak and ticks. The immediate area of the campsites is treated for poison oak, but there is a lot of it on the property once you are away from the river's edge. Pets are likely to encounter it. The ticks tend to have a couple seasons when they are more plentiful, typically the Spring and early Fall. Although we didn't see any in August and early September, they could be present any time.Currently no access for larger RVs. Truck campers and camper vans can be accommodated. If you have any kind of RV, check with us before booking.Cow Creek is a class 1 stream and a tributary to the South Umpqua River. There is a dam at the headwaters of Cow creek which assures a consistent year-round flow of clean fresh water. Steelhead and wild salmon runs have increased dramatically since the dam was built in about 1992. The swimming is excellent, as the topography and lay of the land create a perfect private swimming hole. The property encompasses both sides of the river for 3/4 of a mile. Some of the land is steep and heavily forested. There are a number of flatter meadows on benches as the property comprises a portion of the northern slope of Iron Mountain.Learn more about this land:Creekside camping beside the looong swimming hole on our 140 acre forest land. Located 11 miles from the Riddle Oregon exit on I-5, the Swimming, fishing, bird watching, hiking and stargazing are all fantastic. There is no electric power at all on the property. No cell service. THE TRAIN: You are almost certain to be woken in the wee hours of the morning during the work week of Monday thru Friday (approx. 5:00 a.m.) by the VERY LOUD and SCREECHING train on the other side of the creek. If you'll be okay with that, riverside paradise awaits! The best thing to do is look over our website. This is more of a homestead than a typical farm. We have 131 acres of mixed pasture and old forest. We have sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and one nasty alpaca. We sell sausage and bigger cuts of meat at the farmers market and supplement our animals with produce from the garden. Tucked away in this quiet little valley, we practice regenerative farming using organic and biodynamic practices. The house is powered with solar and everything except plastic is composted. Nights are quiet aside from wild fox cries and the occasional bleat of the sheep. The stars come out because we don't have light pollution. The creek babbles on.....and so do I. If you are looking to just relax, maybe have a great conversation, or hang with some animals......this might be a perfect match.
