Terwer RV Park is the kind of place that is getting harder to find. It is simple, peaceful, and full of old-fashioned campground charm. We are not a luxury resort, and we do not try to be. What makes this place special is the open space, the quiet mornings, the scattered trees, the fresh coastal air, and the slower pace that makes you want to sit outside just a little longer.
The Klamath River is just over the levee, only a short walk from camp. It is a beautiful place to fish, swim, explore, or simply sit and enjoy the water. The river is known for salmon and steelhead fishing, and a valid fishing license is required. During peak fishing season, especially in August and September, you may hear early morning activity from guests heading out to the river.
We are located about 4 miles off Highway 101, close enough to be convenient but far enough away to feel tucked away from the rush. Wildlife is common in the area, so please secure your food and trash at night.
There is so much to explore nearby. Guests love visiting Redwood National and State Parks, Trees of Mystery, Klamath River Jet Boat Tours, coastal viewpoints, hiking trails, biking routes, and quiet places to wander among the redwoods.
A few things to know before you book:
* Firewood is available on site.
* Cell service can be spotty depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground.
* Electric vehicle charging is $20 per charge and must be arranged ahead of time. 50 amp service is limited, and guests must provide their own adapters.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome.
* Kids, laughter, bikes, campfires, and simple outdoor fun are always welcome.
* We offer dry camping, 30 amp sites, and 50 amp pull-through sites.
* Late arrivals are okay. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please text us before 9:00 p.m. so we can send check-in instructions.

Welcome to the Wild West Coast! Where the mountains meet the sea.
The campground is remotely located on private property and perfectly located for excursions to the Pacific Ocean, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Smith River National Recreation Area, and the Pacific Coast Ranges and mountain lakes such as the Devil's Punchbowl, Buck Lake, and Raspberry Lake.
Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road.
The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite.
The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here!
The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

I bought my property ten years ago because I was a paraglider pilot and wanted to be as close as possible to the world famous flying site, Woodrat Mountain. I no longer paraglide, but enjoy hosting pilots and friends from around the world. I love the interesting confluence of people who visit and connect--many end up staying much longer than they intended! Mornings are full of coffee, golden light and bird songs, afternoons are spend poolside, and evenings sometimes end with acoustic music jams or conversations around the dinner table. Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland runs through most of October and the Britt Music Festival in Jacksonville has an open-air music venue with tons of concerts June - September. So many wineries here and check out the waterfalls and hiking trails in the area. Oregon Caves is open May - September. Let us know what adventures you are seeking and we can help you find the ones available in our amazing area... Don't forget about the jetboat rides on the Rogue River May - September which are hugely entertaining and the river and scenery are unforgettable. The Dinner cruise is always a favorite. Hint (Be prepared to get wet).
Elk Haven Ranch consists of 40 acres at the base of a mountain range that is BLM federal land. The Hidden Forest Get-Away campground is spacious and rural where so much wildlife, birds and even an occasional elk herd or family of deer can be seen. This property is a haven for them all, no hunting is allowed.
If you are looking to throw a Frisbee with your dog in a forested and meadow setting, without tons of campers right next to you, then this is your place. Room to roam, fresh air to breathe and clean water available at your site April through September. Easy access to a common electricity plug-in where you can charge your cell phones and air mattresses on the electric pole by the entry gate. A common comment we hear from our campers is how much they love using the open air "hot water on demand" shower - at night - looking up at the stars. It's pretty amazing. The porta potty is kept clean and is privately situated, yet convenient. There's tons of firewood available to purchase for only $5 and a cart with wheels you can use to cart the wood easily to your camp site.
If you are looking to play games, just ask us for the corn hole or horse shoes, or help yourself to the games already out and available.

Our property is located in a small subdivision of Rock Creek, it’s settlement of about 25 to 30 permanent residents, located about 7.5 miles up the S. Fork Rd. from the confluence of the south and middle Forks of the Smith River. , it is only a short (15-20minute) drive from the Hiouchi visitors center, and close to all the Redwoods at the Grove of Titans, Stout Grove and Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park, steps away from the South Fork of the pristine Smith River . Escape to your own secluded sanctuary nestled along one of Northern California’s most pristine waterways — the South Fork of the Smith River. Tucked away in Rock Creek, just 7 miles up scenic South Fork Road from the South Fork Bridge, this off-grid retreat offers the perfect blend of rugged nature and essential comforts.
There are neighboring properties, we are located on Cedar Street private Road that is adjacent to the S. Fork Rd..
We have a small cabin with a bathroom inside and a sink. We leave the door open for you so you can use it whether you’re attending, pulling in your RV/camper.
Public river access located at Sand Camp (1/2 mile down the road) and throughout the river system. No direct public access to river from this property.

The property was narrow but we were able to turn around at the end of the driveway and back our trailer in. We chose site 4 which was a really nice site under a big tree. When we arrived, there was construction being done on the house until 9:00pm but that didn’t continue for the rest of our stay. There were several time when the dogs were barking including very early in the morning the day we were leaving. The property was in a beautiful area and we loved feeding the animals. When the dogs weren’t barking and after the construction stopped, the property was very peaceful and relaxing. There were full hookups at our site and it was nice to have WiFi, although it was weak and kept disconnecting. We would definitely recommend this camp site to others and we will keep this site in mind for future trips. Jose and Carolyn were very friendly and welcoming and even brought us fresh eggs! Thank you for making our stay comfortable!

my husband and i loved being able to car camp here! there are no bathrooms on site, as it’s more intended for RV camping, but carolyn did direct us to a vaulted/pit toilet about 2 miles away. they had 3 beautiful friendly dogs, chickens, goats/sheep, and a horse! we were free to give them some treats and pet them :) carolyn introduced herself to us right after we pulled in, and ramon was very friendly. we would definitely camp here again!

This was a quiet, safe clean stop over for us. Heidi was an excellent communicator, she left a cone/flag out for us to find the turn, gave us a tour and was just generally pleasant and kind. Good vibes all around. Cleanest porta potty ever. Sink to wash hands. Outdoor shower. River access. Cool spot, would return!

Heidi was an incredible host. The space was well kept with cute and thoughtful touches throughout. We loved the outdoor shower and appreciated the outhouse to help extend our grey and black tanks. We envisioned being right on the river, but it was easy to walk down the stairs and access (tents can stay down near the river). The location was great but it was LOUD between the busy road and train. Would stay again though!

Really well kept up/clean. Excellent wifi!!
Even when it was fairly full, it was very quiet/peaceful.
Bathrooms/showers were clean with continuous hot water.
Things I would update:
Offer garbage bins along with all the dog waste bag sites. Especially in the designated dog park. (There is one area with dumpsters that you have to walk to.)
Get some new street signage as the current ones are all sun bleached and not readable.

Jose and Carolyn’s l farm was very cute and the spaces were spacious. We had site 4 with a beautiful view of a small pasture with pretty yellow flowers and horses grazing. It was very peaceful and serene. We slept well in the quiet atmosphere.

We stayed for 4 nights at their little farm and enjoyed our stay. A Full hookup for a fair price and much better than an RV park. The hosts were great and it was a convenient location to visit the beach and the Redwoods. Be sure to visit the Stout Grove nearby. It is the prettiest place in the Redwoods. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

A wonderful spot to spring board off into the land of giant trees! Kimberley beach, just a mile or so down the road was not crowded and lovely. If all four spots are full it would be tight. We ended up in spot 4 and it was great (hammock included!)The horse and goat were fun to feed. Host was present and responsive. The eggs were a bonus!! Fuel up at the reservation, about 5 min south of crescent city. Trees of Mystery is a tourist trap but a lot of fun. Kids had fun walking through the path. Go early as it gets crowded in the afternoons.

Hal's place is great! It has everything one needs and the private and direct access to the Rogue River is perfect.
The outdoor shower is super cool, the space has been thoughtfully setup. I had a great time and the host was so kind and friendly.
There're a lot of wildlife sightings, and if you enjoy taking a dip on rivers this is the peace to go. I definitely recommend it and I'll be looking to stay here again.

Our first Hipcamp stay on the Rogue River was a total success. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the whole property felt cozy, whimsical, and thoughtfully put together.
After the hot drive from California to Oregon, cold river lounging with icy beers was exactly what we needed. We loved watching bald eagles, herons, ducks, and geese overhead throughout the stay — the riverfront setting was beautiful and peaceful.
The outdoor shower deserves its own mention — straight out of a vintage MAS*H “Hot Lips” scene. Showering under the moon was unexpectedly and relaxing.
Our site had a table and chairs, plus additional seating down by the river. There were also fire pits available. The porta potty was very clean, the gated property felt safe and private, and overall it was an easy 5-star stay. We will absolutely come back.

Everything about our stay was magical. Our kids loved the animals and help Dar around the farm. Staying here felt like staying at an old friend's house. I can't wait to see what this little farm and land art becomes. This is must go if you are staying in the area!
