Our little campground began as Bailey Wayne Bike Camp. In 2023 we learned that Wayne National Forest wanted to drop "Wayne" from its name, so we decided to rename our campground and campsites in memory of Raleigh and Blue, two wonderful dogs who we wish were still with us.
This area was once a booming coal mining town in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The hollow was made up of hundreds of company homes, several mines, and other company buildings.
As the mines died, the forest slowly took over.
In the 1980s the National Forest began acquiring ownership.
Today, we are just a stone's throw from the new Baileys Trail System.
My wife and I have been biking for years; we've spent a lot of time camping and biking in OH, KY, WV, and NC.
We primarily ride gravel routes on our tandem mountain bike
around Athens and Washington Counties in Ohio.
Our property is 3 acres, which offers enough room to open up a couple primitive campsites so we can share the peacefulness of the forest.

As you arrive at the yurt you will be welcomed by a calm and serene aesthetic. Our portico was constructed from 100 year old barn beams that were salvaged from West Virginia. This unique structure with 10 ft exterior walls and over 17 feet to the center dome was hand crafted by Blue Ridge Yurts in Floyd Virginia. Every space in this property has been custom built to create an unforgettable experience. This is the only 10 ft walled yurt in the region offering a spacious loft. Lay back and enjoy watching the clouds go by and seeing the rustling of the trees in the wind through our 5 foot dome. At night stare up at the stars as you fall asleep on your full sized queen beds with memory foam mattresses.
The main floor offers a very spacious living area with in floor radiant heat system to keep you toasty warm in the winter. The space also includes a mini-split unit that offers additional heating as well as A/C in the summer months. A pull out couch is provided to accommodate any extra guest. The living area is open to the beautiful kitchen with custom made cabinets and rustic center island constructed out of old salvaged barn beams. The large marble island top provides ample space for food prep and dining. Our kitchen has all full sized appliances with large farm sink, full sized French door fridge and a convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics you would need to prepare simple dishes including cooking oil, spices, flour, sugar, basic cookware and baking utensils. A Keurig coffee machine and pods are provided as well as a drip machine with ground coffee.
Our bathroom provides every convenience and luxury during your stay. A large 6 foot walk-in shower is spacious and inviting. Admire the custom built vanity also constructed from salvaged barn beams. A full sized washer and dryer are located in the nook of the bathroom and guests are welcome to use throughout their stay.
Our main floor also includes the master bedroom complete with full sized queen bed with memory foam mattresses, Storage ottoman and TV.
As you make your way out the back door you will find a little oasis awaiting. Our patio area provides privacy and the opportunity to relax in nature. Soak in the 6 person hot tub or gather around the fire pit in the evenings with friends and family.
A 6 person dining set is a perfect place to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee in the morning.
This property was thoughtfully created to provide a unique and special experience for each and every one of our guests no matter what the occasion. Established in 1949, Sunnyvale Farm is a working family farm offering convenient, trail‑adjacent camping near some of Southeast Ohio’s best outdoor and university attractions. The Riverside Campground has big spacious sites. Sites are primitive and include a picnic table and fire ring. There is NO electric at the Campground.
Many sites overlook the Hocking River. Swimming can be accessible on a few sites, and there are two Premium sites, more spacious (2 & 64)
Please note that our Campground is on the River. Due to excessive rain and certain times of the year, the campground may be wet and muddy. We also cannot control the level of the river or the access to the River based on current water levels.
Riverside Campground features 80 sites and conveniently located portable restrooms throughout the campground. Just steps from the Family Fun Center, guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities perfect for the whole family.
Campsite price includes 2 people. Can add additional adults for $10 per person per night and additional children for $5 per person per night. Up to two tents per site. The tent limits are strictly enforced. If you have more than 2 tents you will be required to book an additional site.

Wonderful little camping area tucked away in the middle of nowhere, yet close to everything! Site had no grass so be prepared for mud! We actually stayed in a tent during severe flood warnings and the site never flooded or became unusable (minus while it was raining) so even in not so great weather it didn’t become chaotic. Hocking hills was very close and it was a quick drive to get to the state park and spend the day hiking :)

This was our second time staying at this little piece of Heaven. So peaceful and quiet - and fun! We loved floating in the little pond and listening to the nature sounds (because that is all you could hear up there) The little cabin had everything we needed and everything was very clean. If you're looking to truly disconnect and get back to nature, this place delivers in spades. The land here is absolutely gorgeous – rolling terrain that feels like you've stepped into your own private slice of wilderness.
Jim is a fantastic host who clearly cares about creating a welcoming environment for everyone. He's knowledgeable about the area and always ready to help with recommendations or just chat about the local wildlife.
The clothing-optional aspect adds to the liberating, back-to-nature experience. There's something incredibly freeing about being able to enjoy the outdoors without any barriers between you and the environment. The property is very secluded, so privacy is never an issue – you can truly relax and unwind.

Jim was very accommodating and very kind. We had animals and they ran freely without issues. If you go outside your camp probably best to keep a leash on hand (you just never know) if you like more privacy id say get another site. (This was still wonderful) but right off the main rd.
My one recommendation create a number or Signage for campers to know which parking lot but absolutely wonderful host.

It was an amazing site! Photos didn’t do it justice. Pretty spacious and able to drive up to site. Free dry firewood was a huge perk. The kids had fun finding little crawdads in the creek and climbing up on the rock formation. Very secluded and private, we felt very relaxed. The dogs also loved being able to roam around. The owners dogs came once but left, no issues. Great location too! We were 8 minutes from the Walmart in town (Logan) and about 20 from old man’s cave. We definitely hope to camp there next time!

Pop's Place is a great place to stay! I car camped in one of the tent/RV sites and added on a bundle of firewood, which was very generous and thoughtfully placed at my site before I arrived. While my spot was next to the road, there was very little car traffic after 10 PM.
The property is extremely well maintained, and Ed and Michelle are just delightful people—so welcoming and friendly. The portable toilet and outdoor shower were absolutely spotless, and I loved the cute little touches in the décor.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Pop's Place to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-kept place to camp!

My partner and I decided last minute to stay near the Hocking Hills area for more hiking the following morning. Jim's location is perfect! The campsite we locked into came with lots of benefits. Very private and tucked into the woods. Freedom to roam without clothing too. Jim gave us a ride on the tractor with the trailer up to the site and showed us around. Later we found that our Jeep gladiator was able to get up the steep hill and park with us at the site. Coolest part is the short walk down the back hill to the Rockbridge Winery. It had a nice patio, live music, food truck and tasty wine slushies after a nice day of hiking to cool down. We mentioned staying at the site up the hill and they even gave us a discount! We are keeping this location in mind for future travels. Next time we will stay longer and walk property more.
