Denise's land was safe and mostly secluded. I was at camp site 1. You could see a little bit of the road between the trees when a car would pass by, but it is not a very busy road to begin with. The wood supplied was ample for one night and one morning (no purchase required), and the camp site itself was very nice. The space was open, yet secluded, and very flat which was great for a tent to be set up. The picnic table was great since it gave us a spot to sit down and eat, as well as set up food before cooking. The place was pretty easy to find, but there is basically zero service out there if you are on Spectrum's network (which is what most people are looking for when camping), so be sure to print some directions to and from where you want to go before/after. Overall it was a great experience!

Wonderful little camping area tucked away in the middle of nowhere, yet close to everything! Site had no grass so be prepared for mud! We actually stayed in a tent during severe flood warnings and the site never flooded or became unusable (minus while it was raining) so even in not so great weather it didn’t become chaotic. Hocking hills was very close and it was a quick drive to get to the state park and spend the day hiking :)
There wasn’t any type of communication with Host which was discouraging. In the Bio before booking I read that we can buy fire wood upon arrival or before hand. I messaged Host through hicamp before our trip.. She never responded and once we were at the site we had absolutely no service. When you get to the site you park at your site and walk to camp and set up. You will not be greeted by anyone. We felt the area of camp site 2 was a bit small for our liking. It was very wet due to some rain, bugs were really bad. Site was just a few feet away from parking. Maybe like 40 feet. It’s just a short walk through the woods to the site which is surrounded by fallen trees and branches. It stormed on us as soon as we got done setting up our camp. It was a terrible night for us because it down poured. Due to the storm and weather conditions we could not keep a fire. While inside of our tent we can hear tree branches and stuff falling right next to us. Supposed to stay 2 nights but We packed up the next morning and left. Actual site could have been bigger. Some old broken down trees were laying around and stuff could have been cleaned up to provide more of a camping space. It’s pretty peaceful, you can hear an occasional vehicle or plane going by. At night it is extremely dark. You can hear all the creatures of the night.
Never even went here but did throw away 85 dollars because the host advertised as being able to park at site and then I spend my money and reserve for Friday to Sunday and it says you have to walk to the site, I would highly recommend not supporting this scam.

Great spot. Private and well-maintained. Easy access to potable water and very clean portable toilet
Pumpkin Ridge is a beautiful, secluded space for tent camping! It’s surrounded by thick woods, so there is minimal to no road noise. I was just as content to chill out at the campsite as I was to hike all the nearby trails (Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, Rock House, and more). I would highly recommend staying on Denise’s land!

Great site! Very private! Loved the on-site toilet.
This is our second time visiting Denise and Pumpkin Ridge Retreat Site #1. Everything you need in the Hocking Hills area to enjoy nature. The wood, the porta John and water are all nice touches to make it easier to enjoy the beautiful peaceful place. Denise is an awesome host and is really easy to communicate with.

Great spot if you’re looking for a private camp site! Plenty of free dry firewood and a clean porta-potty. Some occasional road noise, but that’s to be expected. Overall great experience!

Site was marked well and easy to find. Picnic table and fire ring were in good shape. Plenty of space for two tents and two hammocks. Toilet was clean and stocked. Water supply worked well also. Site felt secluded and it was not noisy.

Absolutely amazing site. My partner and I booked this before a snow storm decided to roll in, and we decided to still try it out. The camp site is very pretty and in a secluded enough area that you don’t hear any vehicles driving by. Denise was very kind and hospitable, and offered complimentary firewood to help us stay warm in the sub 20° temperatures! 10/10 and I will be coming back.

This was the perfect campsite for our anniversary! Denise is so helpful and the site is in a great spot
First time staying here so I didn't really know what to expect. Not that it's a negative but it's not a traditional campground. It's essentially two sites on private property. Site 1, the site I stayed at, is the first site and is closer to the road. You can drive up to this one which is really convenient. The site was pretty flat and could easily accommodate a few tents. The picnic table looked pretty new and the fire ring was pretty large making it ideal for larger, hot fires. There's plenty of firewood on-site which was super convenient and they even supply a wheel barrow to get it to your spot. The porta-john was the cleanest I've ever used as well. Denise, the host, was great and was very responsive to messages. A+ there. The only downside was no real facilities so you can't shower. Not the fault of the host but noise was a minor issue from time to time. Dogs barking across the street late at night and people driving around loud off-road vehicles. Other than those small things, it was very quiet. No one else was there during my stay which was also nice. All in all, it was a good couple of days of camping. I would definitely return.

This site was perfect! It was secluded enough with only 2 sites (no one was at the second site when we were there) but close to good hiking trails. We already booked again! The bathroom is clean and there was plenty of firewood. One note-as pictured there is no grate for the pit. If you need one to cook be sure to bring. Communication was great as well!
Really nice and quiet spot! The site was pretty big and had tons of firewood, which was awesome. Heard a bunch of birds and even found a salamander while I was walking around. I ended up leaving early for other reasons, but it was a great place overall, would definitely stay again.

We loved site 1, it was clean and felt private and spacious. the dry, free wood was wonderful and as other reviews mentioned, a clean port-a-potty. Our cell connection was pretty terrible driving into the property so we turned into the owner's driveway. The driveway for the hipcamp was the next driveway to the north. We couldn’t see the sign from the road coming from the south. Would definitely camp here again. Thanks, Denise!

We loved camping at Pumpkin Ridge! Denise was an awesome host and there was free dry firewood to use as well as accessible potable water. Our only suggestion is to make sure to bring bug spray!

I enjoyed staying at site 1 for two nights. The location was easy to find. I appreciated having a well maintained porty-pot nearby and access to plenty of firewood to burn! The site is close to a road so you do hear some traffic during the day but it's incredibly quiet at night. Some neighborhood dogs were heard barking at times, but it wasn't enough to bother us. I would stay here again!

It was a beautiful site! Would only recommend maybe those solar lights to go along the trail up the to the camp site for night time visibility. But other than that, I highly recommend staying here. It felt very secluded and relaxing.
We camped in our Truck on site 1. It is a very nice and peaceful spot with good privacy. Huge bonus that there was a toilet and free wood. Also this site was a reasonable distance from Hocking Hills State Rec area which allowed us to steer clear from large rv crowds. I believe there is one other site one the property, (site2), which might not be accesible by full sized vehicle, so it definately helped reaching out to our host, Denise, before solidifying our decision. All in all we would highly recommend this campsite. Ideal for tent camping for both sights; but maybe a half-ton truck camper in site 1. Neither sites are trailer friendly but definately check with Denise first, she is very nice.
Directions for where to turn off the road and where to park were very clear. Port-a-potty was clean and well-maintained. Potable water was easy to access. At the time we were camping there was no one at site 2 but it was far enough away I don't think campers there would have been intrusive to our experience at all.
The campsite was very large and the property is completely wooded. There is a nice metal fire ring with a screen and a new sturdy picnic table. The one downside with the campsite is it is close to the road and the houses across from the road. Early in the night (around 8-9 PM) there was some sort of ruckus with the neighbors screaming/honking their car horn. Luckily things calmed down while we were getting to bed and it was very very quiet!

Great first tent camping experience! Very private little area and had the cleanest bathroom at a campsite I’ve ever been to.
The site was private and peaceful. The Porta John was clean and maintained. The site was large enough if we had more guests we could have accommodated. Cindy was a great host and invited us to use the dryer wood by the main road in. We had a great stay an will post out time at Get Livin Outdoors on YouTube. There was so many things to do in the area and would definitely recommend anyone looking to visit the area to stay at Pumpkin Ridge.
