Beacon House is my dream: a lakeside escape for writers, creatives, travelers, and adventurers, close enough to civilization for ease but far enough to feel like a retreat. Tucked along peaceful Lake Cammack, our campsites offer a front-row seat to one of Alamance County’s hidden gems. Whether you're paddling calm waters, casting into one of North Carolina’s top fishing spots, or recharging on your Mountain-to-Sea Trail journey, this is your ideal escape. We’re just minutes from two paddle access points—Shallowford and Glencoe. With on-site kayak rentals, you can easily explore the lake or drift along the scenic Haw River. After a day outdoors, settle in by the water, cast a line, and soak in the stillness. “Create in nature, with nature.” Located next to Beacon House, a lakeside artist retreat and lifestyle lab, our site offers more than just views. From morning coffee by the water to stargazing by the fire, inspiration is built into the atmosphere. “Not too far—but not too close.” Only 40 minutes from Greensboro, the Triangle, and Danville, VA, we’re perfectly placed for road trippers and weekenders alike. Far enough to escape. Close enough to get here fast. Amenities You’ll Love: • Kayaks for rent – Hit the water with ease • Fishing hotspot – One of NC’s finest • Trail and paddle launch access nearby • Outdoor calisthenics gym with dip bar, pull-up bar & more This laid-back site is a basecamp for adventure. The Spinning Goat

2 sites · Lodging, Tents30 acres · Rural Hall, NC
Located in the tranquil, natural woodlands of our historic family farm. There are 30 acres of hiking trails with remnants of what once was an 80 acre old fashioned family tobacco farm. There are plenty of level areas covered in lush grass and surrounded by trees as old as dirt! The Honeymoon Sweet provides an indoor experience. It was built by my Uncle Frank who cut the wood off the land and milled it into the lumber he needed to make this unique, rustic space. There is a rock fire pit with lots of easily accessible firewood. You can hang out and enjoy mother nature or visit one of the many local tourist attractions like Pilot Mountain State Park, historic Mt Airy with it's charming small town hospitality, Hanging Rock State Park in the Sauratown Mountains affords breathtaking views, hiking trails, waterfalls and fishing. If you are a history buff, we are just a short drive to Bethania a National Historic Landmark, Historic Bethabara founded by Moravians in 1753 or step back to the 18th century at Old Salem home of the famous Winkler Bakery and Salem Tavern that provided lodging for George Washington in 1791.
