There is only one RV site on the property and no other residents, except for the deer and occasional turkey, racoon, squirrels, and birds. From your RV and site you will have an unobstructed view over the vineyard of the sunset and western range of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The Vineyard includes Viognier, Merlot, and Chambourcin grapes. Stony Knoll Winery nearby manages the vineyard and uses the grapes in production of their award-winning varietals. There are three wineries within a couple of miles, and 20 more wineries within a 30-minute drive. There are 3 must-see / hike state parks within a 40 minute drive: Pilot Mountain, Hanging Rock, and Stone Mountain. The charming town of Mt. Airy (Mayberry RFD from the Andy Griffith Show) and Elkin are within a 20 minute drive. The Yadkin River is only a few miles to the south at the quaint village of Rockford, and is popular for kayaking/tubing, fishing, and swimming. This is our 3rd trip to this fabulous location (see other reviews of Bent Creek). This place is very special to us, as its perfect for a quick get away, and you're so close to anything you may want/need to do. The host are top notch and feel almost like family to us now! I'd recommend this location to anyone...except when I wanna be there!!! Thanks again for all the care Hannah and Doug! Hope to be back soon!

Great place to stay! Easy access off of a secondary road. This is a full RV hookup and everything is very convienent. Doug met us (with fresh baked cookies!) after we had everything set up. He is a wealth of information on the area due to his family being on this land for more than 200 years. Very quiet and peaceful. Close by to a lot of activities. Check out historic town of Rockford and areas vineyards . We did tastings at Stony Knoll and Haze Gray vineyards and had dinner outside on the patio at the Harvest Grill at Shelton Vineyards.
We could not be happier with our stay and first time using Hipcamp.
Definitely will be returning to Bent Creek Farm!

Lori’s place was lovely! We enjoyed the expansive yard and view of the farm and animals. We made many new animal friends, including chickens, goats, and sweet Bear (the friendly dog). Great place for pets- my dog had the best time. The cottage was cozy and comfortable and just what we needed to relax! Hope to came back soon!

Weekend Trip to Basecamp_outdoors
I brought my friend for his first glamping experience to Basecamp_outdoors and it couldn’t have been better!
There is every amenity here to make you feel at home. A full kitchen, hot shower, clean beautiful spacious tent with no bugs, a comfortable bed, a covered kitchen, an out house, a porch and a covered eating area. Plus lighting and heating and cooling.
Everything is an easy unload from where you park your cars.
Plus, there is an additional area down the path where there is a fire platform. Because it was hot, we skipped the fire and used it more as an extra patio and outdoor room.
We spent a lot of time there immersed in the beauty of the forest and sky and listening to the birds and music.
The main site is located nearer to the road and we hung a couple of tapestries in the lower eating area for a little extra privacy.
The host was very thorough in giving us directions and sending a video to show us how to turn on and use everything.
He also checked on us via text through the app to make sure we had everything we needed.
It was easily accessible and there is plenty to do in the area as far as hiking and water features.
If you’re considering this place, you should book it, I can’t imagine being able to find one better!

Wow! Doug and Hannah were great. Doug welcomed us to their site with a loaf of banana bread. What a treat! This is the place if you want to be away from other campers. Nice view of meadow fields and old buildings from the original home place. Doug told us the story of the home place and how the land passed down through the generations while we sat by the fire pit. Plenty of firewood there and kindlin to get it started. Hannah came by about supper time with some brownies that were so good. This is the place to get away from it all. Very private and a beautiful location. Several wineries within just a few miles so don’t forget to see the hidden vineyards winery.

The sunset was incredible! We had a bit of an overcast weekend, but the sun really showed off the first night. There was so much room for our dog to run around! We camped and the road is a tad close but the noise was fairly minimal, especially as it got later in the night. The little creek that runs through the property was fun to find. A ton of great little hikes and waterfalls around the area. Just 5 minutes down the road there is public access to Fisher River - pretty clean and flowing river. Was cool! You’ll have a good time!

We loved pitching a tent on Williams land! The site was as described & well maintained.
We were treated to an incredible sunset on our first night. There was so much room for our dog to run around and explore. There is also water access to the Fisher River, which was clean due to the consistent flow of the river. There is also a great waterfall and “beach” area about 20 mins from the site - Carter Falls. Highly recommended. We did not do much hiking due to a kid tagging along but there are numerous trails near by. With that said, the site was very kid friendly. Running water & electric are huge bonuses. We brought string (recommend 15 ft), a blanket and clips to project a movie- tied the string to the breaker box post and the light post. It was cool!!
We pitched near the RV platform and it was a little noisy with cars passing by (maybe 1-3 every few minutes) but after 10PM the traffic died down drastically and was peaceful. I would recommend pitching a bit further down the hill. If you are in an RV, I doubt you could hear the cars. Even with the sporadic noises, the site felt fairly secluded & safe.

Great site. The host's instructions were spot on. Several wineries are very close to the site, both low-key and high-end ones. Nice private spot.
We suggest placing the fire pit on the gravel, even if it's been wet, as the grass thatch is thick, as we learned, lol.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed on Hannah and Doug's property because we love everything about it. We will most definitely stay again if they'll have us. The views are so incredible that our feet are on the ground before the sun even rises because we don' want to miss a minute. Doug and Hannah are so friendly and make the best homemade brownies (I'll keep the secret Doug). If you're looking for a peaceful trip, away from everything, yet, not far away from anything, and you love to have great HipCamp Hosts...this is your spot! Thanks for everything Doug and Hannah!

We chose Hannah and Doug’s farm for our first trip in the new RV and so glad we did. Super quiet and tucked in around other farms and vineyards. Our 33’ Brinkley fit easily and were able to use the 50 amp electric and water. The road in is a bit tight but can be managed. If you’re heading that way, you’ll definitely enjoy their space.
