Located in the tranquil, natural woodlands of our historic family farm. There are 30 acres of hiking trails with remnants of what once was an 80 acre old fashioned family tobacco farm. There are plenty of level areas covered in lush grass and surrounded by trees as old as dirt! The Honeymoon Sweet provides an indoor experience. It was built by my Uncle Frank who cut the wood off the land and milled it into the lumber he needed to make this unique, rustic space. There is a rock fire pit with lots of easily accessible firewood. You can hang out and enjoy mother nature or visit one of the many local tourist attractions like Pilot Mountain State Park, historic Mt Airy with it's charming small town hospitality, Hanging Rock State Park in the Sauratown Mountains affords breathtaking views, hiking trails, waterfalls and fishing. If you are a history buff, we are just a short drive to Bethania a National Historic Landmark, Historic Bethabara founded by Moravians in 1753 or step back to the 18th century at Old Salem home of the famous Winkler Bakery and Salem Tavern that provided lodging for George Washington in 1791.

Take the opportunity to stay in a one of a kind Farm Store loft on a real working farm. Crossings is a true market farm that has been in our family for over 11 generations. While the main focus of Crossings is always to be a community farm, we love opening our home and farm to respectful visitors. The loft is over our farm store and accessed by a curved staircase (no door between) . The farm setting offers a comfy spot for someone looking for a quiet spot to relax and rest after a day exploring out and about. The cozy space it perfect for 2 people who are looking for a unique spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of their normal lives. The farm store space on the first floor is a public area that is frequented by our regular customers during the day, especially on Saturdays. We allow our Airbnb guests to lock the farm store from 6pm to 9am each night for ultimate privacy and enjoyment of the space. There is a bistro table can that be used for picking up take-out or a simple meal cooked on the wood stove or outdoor grill. The back porch is a perfect spot to enjoy a nice rock in our Troutman Co. rocking chairs while listening to the farm sounds and seeing our crew gather eggs, move the cows, or re-stock the Farm Store. Not in the mood to hike into a spot? You can pull straight into the driveway and park to the left of the farm store. Other things to note **Please note that you are staying on a working family farm. There are multiple farm animals (chickens, pigs, cows, horses, farm dogs and cats) that are in close proximity to the Farm Store. We ask that you maintain and do not go into the fenced areas, greenhouses or our barns for biosecurity. We also ask that you not feed the animals, even though they may come up to the fence. *We do have farm workers (including ourselves) who are in and round the farm all day feeding animals, tending to the garden areas, filling orders and re-stocking the farm store. All of our team will maintain social distancing, but feel free to ask any questions of them while you are here. *Saturdays are our "busier" days on the farm. Our Farm Store is "open" and staffed that day for our regular customer needs. We are normally cutting wood, moving animals, fixing fence, building structures, re-stocking the farm store, mowing and weed eating. *If you have any concerns around our Farm Loft stay, please reach out to us prior to booking so that we can answer any questions with transparency. We have tried to give you an honest picture of what our Farm Stay is like since we are a very active working farm.

The Motocross track has been around for over 30 years, it all started with a few local racers from the Trans Am Series who came to Lake Sugar Tree in the beginning of the 70’s bringing top European rider’s to compete against the top American rider’s. The Myers family first came to North Carolina in the early 1700's from York, Pennsylvania, and settled in the Holly Grove area. One son, David ventured West and purchased several hundred acres in the late 1700's from a soldier, John Booth, who received the property as a land grant for 12.5 cents per acre ( Issued October 10th, 1783). David helped to create what is now the Reeds Community, and began what we know and love today as "Crossings". One of David's sons, Benjamin helped his father build a log cabin, and placed it at the end of a long driveway off of Hwy 64 (Old Hwy 64). His log cabin, seen on the right, was the birthplace of many children, including James Addison, who built the Crossings home place that still stands today (circa 1874). James, and his siblings, made their mark by building homes almost identical all over present day Reeds. James also made a name for himself by holding the North Carolina state agriculture record many years running for the largest yield per acre of corn. My great-grandparents, Lessie and Noah Smith, purchased the farm from James Addison's estate in 1928 and raised all of their children on the farm, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lessie and Noah farmed every piece of the property with love, determination, and the help from friends and family. I still hear stories today from family about priming tobacco, picking cotton, and coming back home for corn shuckin's Feeling fortunate to grow up right beside the home place, I spent all of my childhood years roaming across the pastures, playing in the pond, and disappearing for hours riding horses across the fields. Lucky to purchase the home in 2003, I have been exceptionally blessed to be able to raise my children where my family has lived for over 200 years. Following the practices of Joel Salatin, Wendell Berry, Gene Logsten, and most importantly, Thomas Jefferson - Crossings looks to produce healthy food while preserving the land that my family has cherished for so many years. Crossings moto: "Bringing family, farming and community together" is more than something printed on a shirt. We believe that farming and the act of working outside together is enjoyable and fulfilling, especially when friends and family come together. The Crossings family is made up of many hands: Ben and Jennifer, Mackenzie, Keaton and Salem all live and work the farm daily. Raised on the family homeplace, all play an integral parts in the day to day operations of Crossings. Seen not only feeding, watering, processing, you will can find them selling at the Lexington Farmers Market. We are also fortunate to have my two "reluctant farmers" in our lives, my parents (Joyce & Foy), who (for the most part) go along with all of our ideas and requests. You will enjoy Air Conditioning and heat, hot showers, rocking chairs on the porch, a comfy bed and lovely farm views. The loft is located directly above our market Farm Store. The main floor of the store houses a shared bathroom with a Hot, Hot shower, a wood stove that can be used for wartime or cooking, a Bistro Table, and a vintage porcelain sink. There is also a lovely, deep back porch out the rear door that has 2 comfortable Troutman rocking chairs, a portable fire pit (which can be used a fire or simple grilling). There is unlimited firewood for use while you are staying at our loft. Please note that there is not a door between the main farm store and the loft, but the staircase is curved, which allows for NO visibility to the loft from the main floor. Our farm store is visited around 203 times a day by our loyal and thoughtful customers from the hours of 9am until around 6pm in the afternoon. Our work crew will also come in and re-stock or tidy up each day. Due to this, we ask that you take any showers before 9am or after 6pm each evening, unless arrangements are made prior. In our farm store, you can find a host of pork, chicken, beef and other items to cook on the wood stove or the back porch grill. We supply you with a few basic utensils, plates, bowls and locally made mugs. You will also find a Keurig coffee maker with a variety of different coffees and teas.

Our luxury RV is your escape from the daily hustle/bustle and lets you get back to nature. You'll have a true camping experience, but with the comforts of home. It's the perfect place to retreat to after a day of hunting, pottery shopping, exploring the Uwharrie National Forest or going wild at the NC Zoo. The RV is a 38 ft Jayco Designer series luxury fifth-wheel. There is plenty of room to park as you reach the end of the graveled drive where you will find the RV parked on private, family land with electric and water provided. It is in a cleared, but secluded spot surrounded by forest and farms. The unit is fully air conditioned for those hot summer days and heated for those chilly fall / cold winter nights. It has privacy, room darkening fabric shades on the windows. Basic toiletries (individual size soap, shampoo, body lotion), all bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets and comforter/quilt) and coffee and condiments are provided. There is a landline phone with free calling (because the cell service is limited) and superfast wi-fi for internet As you go through the door, you enter into the main living area with two super comfy leather recliners, a 42" Roku TV, ceiling fan, electric fireplace and a sofa . The kitchen has refrigerator/freezer, gas 3-burner stove, oven, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. All the dishes, utensils, glassware and cookware are included. The dining area has seating for four. The private master bedroom has a king size bed, 20" TV, closet and plenty of other storage for your clothing and gear. There is a full bath with a walk-in glassed shower, full size porcelain toilet, two sinks with individual storage cabinets. Outside is a charcoal BBQ grill, sink and picnic table for outdoor cooking and dining. In the backyard, you can sit in a pair of rocking chairs on a paver patio while enjoying the firepit, relaxing in loungers, play cornhole or settle down at the umbrella covered small dinette. Remember...as comfortable/luxurious as this RV is, it's still a camper and it isn't like staying in a house. The water pressure is weaker, the toilet flushes with a pedal, and everything operates with a switch.

Weekend Trip to Basecamp_outdoors
I brought my friend for his first glamping experience to Basecamp_outdoors and it couldn’t have been better! There is every amenity here to make you feel at home. A full kitchen, hot shower, clean beautiful spacious tent with no bugs, a comfortable bed, a covered kitchen, an out house, a porch and a covered eating area. Plus lighting and heating and cooling. Everything is an easy unload from where you park your cars. Plus, there is an additional area down the path where there is a fire platform. Because it was hot, we skipped the fire and used it more as an extra patio and outdoor room. We spent a lot of time there immersed in the beauty of the forest and sky and listening to the birds and music. The main site is located nearer to the road and we hung a couple of tapestries in the lower eating area for a little extra privacy. The host was very thorough in giving us directions and sending a video to show us how to turn on and use everything. He also checked on us via text through the app to make sure we had everything we needed. It was easily accessible and there is plenty to do in the area as far as hiking and water features. If you’re considering this place, you should book it, I can’t imagine being able to find one better!

Weekend Trip to Mystic Meadow Farm Glamping.
My dog and I had the absolute best weekend at the “Love Shack” in Mystic Meadow. Wendy has created a woodland oasis with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is easy to find, but feels a thousand miles away from the daily grind. The cabin is perfect, thedeck was outfitted with chairs for relaxing, a swing near the creek, and the woody trails were full of fun treasures. And did I mention the fire pit? We enjoyed visiting the fluffy butts and the goats along the trail, listening to the creek as it bubbled along and watching fireflies from the deck and morning visits with deer. Wendy suggested a couple of places to visit locally, which had great trails and shopping options. We even visited a local drive in on Saturday night. There are lots of options near by for all kinds of entertainment. In fact I’m checking my calendar for another trip in the fall. I highly recommend booking a trip to mystic Meadows, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Wendy for a great weekend and being a terrific host. We really didn’t want to leave! .

Wow! We are so blessed to have found this beautiful site. We loved wandering and exploring the land, picking fresh blackberries, and saying hi to the animals (the donkey is our great friend!). Thank you Natalie & Darrel for being such awesome hosts - even though we arrived very late at night, we were given good instructions and left a lantern to find our lovely cabin. This place is a treasure! I booked pretty late in the day, and Natalie was so accommodating. Everything in and around the cabin was so thoughtful that the couple times I started to need something I realized they were 2 steps ahead of me. I absolutely loved the greenhouse! Bed was very comfortable and I really enjoyed the selection of books they had. Can’t wait to come back (and finish my book!)

We had a great time staying at the cabin! Natalie and Darrell were excellent hosts. The cabin was comfortable amd we were suprised at how well stocked it was! Having ice on site was so helpful to keep our coolers cold without having to go anywhere! We enjoyed lighting the woodstove on a chilly rainy afternoon. The view was wonderful- we loved visiting the animals- particularly the donkey and the pigs! We walked to the creek often to fish and go out on our canoe. This was our best vacation! We'd love to come back sometime.

Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. Here you can relax; watch nature; meet our chickens, goats, horse, cats, and dog; learn about archaeology, history, plants, and mead making; and get eggs and homegrown seasonal food. Listen to birdsong and watch clouds during the day, wander a path through our ca. 5 acres of woods, see fireflies in the evening, and star watch at night. Nearby are hiking, horseback riding, historical sites, fishing, antiques, wineries, shooting, and more. We are located in a rural area and have many different domesticated and wild animals so you may hear diverse animal noises and see or smell animal poop, although we try to keep things clean and tidy. Our neighbors have dogs, cattle, and chickens/roosters and occasionally shoot guns during daylight hours (one neighbor is a sporting club with skeet shooting and hunting dogs) but typically our farm is a quiet and peaceful place. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

We built this space as our little stay-cation spot and knew we had to share it. We are passionate about what we do and work hard to continue to build and grow and share this beautiful space for others to enjoy. We have 3 primitive sites and 2 authentic tee-pees. There is a bath house with a heated shower, and a port-a-john that is cleaned regularly. There are 2 picnic areas with charcoal grills. We have a 24x16 enclosed stage that can be used for bands, educational classes, karaoke, yoga... ect. There is also an outdoor movie theater that is available to rent for an evening. There are a few restaurants close by and we are only 6 miles from downtown Mocksville. There are a lot of wineries and breweries within a 30 min drive from our property. We are about 15 minutes from river access to the Yadkin river for anyone looking to Kayak. There are lots of local fishing holes and places to go horseback riding. We are about an hour drive to lots of different hiking trails from pilot mountain, and hanging rock to the blue ridge parkway. We have 2 dogs that live here and will greet you at the gate. Please be respectful of the neighbors and drive slowly down the dirt road to our property to limit dust. We look forward to hosting your camping get away.

I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too.
