My farm had been untouched for years and only used as hay farming. It is rolling hills known by the locals as "Butterfly Hill" Which the farm is home to many species of butterflies in the summer. I know the area was inhabited by native Americans many decades ago. I have found a few broken arrow heads over the years. The farm is beautiful and quiet. I have a beautiful hiking trail around the property for you to take your fur babies on. The cabin is right on a beautiful stream too. There are several state parks nearby and river tubing within 10 -30 minutes. Hot showers and potable water just a few feet away.

Our farm is a beautiful, private 25 acres with an 1830s house, outbuildings, animals, orchards, gardens, pastures, old trees, wildlife habitat, a spring, and woods. We mow regularly and our rooster and chicken ladies wander far and wide eating bugs but, in the summer, they can't get every mosquito and tick so please plan accordingly for your own comfort.

I stayed at The Love Shack this weekend and had a wonderful experience. Wendy was a wonderful host—thoughtful, welcoming, and clearly dedicated to creating a beautiful space for her guests. She even cleared the leaves off the trail before I arrived, which made for such a lovely walk through the woods. I spotted a deer along the way which was nice. The A-frame shelter was cozy and warm. I enjoyed the most relaxing nap in the hammock. I highly recommend!

We had a great time at the love shack! It was perfectly cozy, and Wendy has done such a wonderful job creating an accommodative experience that really feels unique. The shack itself was more spacious than I expected, and the setting was beautiful, were very grateful that Wendy would share her beautiful land with the public! Even though it rained we were able to stay warm and dry. It was a really great place to stay, and I hope we get another chance to visit.

Weekend Trip to The Kaleidoscope

I would say my review is somewhere between great and OK. What was great was that the bus was fun and funky, sweet and well-designed, and clean. The kitchen was laid out to have good working and eating space for 2. The shower was very nice. The composting toilet was clean and easy to use. We especially loved the view out of the passenger side of the bus -- great little firepit/chairs, and beautiful woods. We were surprised when we walked down to the stream to find HUGE rock formations and boulders and we had a blast playing on those. The "okay" part is that the property on the other side of the bus is a bit shabby. Once you get there, you can totally ignore that, but when you drive in it doesn't look as inviting as it really is.

We loved our stay at the Loveshack and if you’re thinking of booking this spot, DO IT! The property is stunning, with trails steps away from the Shack and a babbling brook. The bed slept wonderfully and even with 42° temperature nightly lows, we were comfortable with an extra blanket from home. Wendy is a wonderful host who is attentive and respectful. We also brought our beagle, who had a blast playing in the stream and exploring the property with us. Wendy also provided some boardgames and some basic cookware for guests to use as well, which came in handy when we realized our camp stove was broken! We couldn’t have asked for more relaxing, magical, and nature filled weekend. We genuinely cannot wait to come back!

It's a really lovely place to be! Wendy is actually an incredibly skilled massage therapist and was able to fit me in for a session. I highly recommend booking with her if you can!! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Log Cabin on Virginia Farm, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! From the moment I arrived, Shirley, our host, made us feel right at home. Her warm welcome and thoughtful personal touches truly set the tone for a relaxing getaway. The cabin itself was exactly as described—cozy, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The amenities were fantastic! We loved spending our afternoons by the pool, exploring the scenic walking trails, and enjoying some friendly competition on the ball courts. The fire pits were the perfect spot to unwind in the evenings, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories under the stars. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with plenty of activities to enjoy, I highly recommend the Log Cabin on Virginia Farm. Thank you, Shirley, for being such a wonderful host! The Ancient Springs Farm glamp site is a sweet marvel! The Tobacco Pack House is real rustic charm, it was so lovely sleeping in a comfy bed right next to masses of flowers and in sight of the stars. We loved the farm tour; Rebecca is also an inspiring caretaker of the land, sharing great information about the land, animals, plants and gardens. My husband and our two dogs loved our stay! The property is absolutely stunning! We made sure to wake up every morning for the incredible sunrise 🌅 It was very hot during our stay, but we were able to cool off in the pool and the AC was plenty for us to be comfortable while indoors. We mostly stayed by the pool because of the heat, but the barn and fire pit area were awesome! Everything was very clean and the kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Our dogs loved the front porch and being able to walk/run off leash. Shirley was extremely respectful of our privacy, but also made sure to leave us a friendly note with her number if we needed anything at all. 10/10 recommend this hipcamp 😊

This place is so beautiful! The scavenger hunt was adorable and so much fun. And the little pool in the creek was so cold and relaxing on a hot summer day! Waking up every morning and opening the side of the cabin and listening to the sounds of nature was so calm and peaceful.
