The Saxapahaw Country Club is a beautiful 31-acre working farm and event space. Guests are welcome to wander the fields, relax in the hammocks, fish the stocked pond, or enjoy the giant swing suspended from the branches of our 200-year-old white oak tree. The Country Club is an ideal spot for a quiet evening under the stars, a peaceful retreat after shows at the Haw River Ballroom, or a basecamp for exploring the river, shops, and restaurants of Saxapahaw. Chapel Hill, Mebane, Hillsborough, and Pittsboro are all just a short drive away. In addition to camping, we host weddings, reunions, retreats, corporate functions, and other private events, as well as public gatherings throughout the year. As a membership club, we offer members special perks along with opportunities to connect, socialize, and enjoy the "country-club" lifestyle. Follow us on Instagram or join our email list to receive updates, highlights, and announcements about upcoming events. On arrival you'll come down our curvy driveway through the trees, and see our event barn on the left. To the barn's side is a communal space for campers to enjoy with a great view. This area has a wood-fired grill and farm table, with a handwashing station out front. The shared outhouse/composting toilet is next to the pine stand with a white roof. We have sheep, pigs and a donkey rotating through pastures behind electric fencing. Take a walk to say hello, but don't touch the fence! We also have 3 very friendly farm cats. Pork and lamb from our farm (as well as kiln-dried firewood) is available for purchase at our farm store. Please note, this farm-stay is an agritourism activity subject to the limit of liabilities as described in N.C.G.S § 99E‑32(b). Nearby activities: Entertainment: Catch big acts at the nearby Haw River Ballroom venue or enjoy free live music at Saturdays in Saxapahaw. Shop vintage, records, VHS and more at Saxy-a-Go-Go. Support local artists at the Riverside Collective. Eats/Drinks: Cup 22 Coffee House and The Eddy Pub overlook the river. Haw River Farmhouse Ales, Saxapahaw General Store and Steel String Brewery. Nature: The Haw River Canoe and Kayak Co, Saxapahaw Lake Paddle Access, Saxapahaw Island Park and Playground, Cane Creek Mountain Natural Area, and Cedarock Park.

Campsite in The Pines

100%
(6)
Tent site · Sleeps 8
Perfect for tent camping, hammocking, or car camping, this shady cluster of sites is tucked into a sweet little pine stand. With 3 clearings for tents and a central stone fire-pit overlooking a grassy clearing down towards the pond, this is our most private site, while also having easy access to the shared amenities. We recommend parking vehicles on the gravel drive at the little parking sign and walking 30 seconds down the short path to setup camp, especially if the ground is wet or rain is in the forecast. It can be hard to turn around if you drive all the way in. Bathroom use is a shared outhouse/composting toilet nearby. In front/side of the barn is the communal area for campers with a handwashing station, farm table, wood-fired grill, and receptacles for trash and recycling. There is drinkable water (hot and cold) available from the spigots on the side of the barn. Check out our Extras for add-ons that include pork products raised right here on our farm, kiln-dried firewood, access to conditioned bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet, and even a photoshoot with a professional photographer.

Just past the barn, under the string lights, is the High Meadow Campsite. Perfect for tent, van, or RV camping. This site is a grassy clearing at a high point of the property. It is close to the barn with a great view down to the pond. Great spot for stargazing. Can easily accommodate 4 tents. There is power available, a fire-pit, picnic table and shared outhouse/composting toilet. Check out our Extras for add-ons that include pork products raised right here on our farm, kiln-dried firewood, access to conditioned bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet, and even a photoshoot with a professional photographer. Pond / Stage Campsite

100%
(17)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 22 ft
Perfect for tent camping or van camping, this site is a grassy clearing near the pond. Great spot for stargazing. Can easily accommodate 4 tents. The stage can fit 1 to 2 tents. There is power available, a fire-pit and a shared outhouse. If the ground is very wet or heavy rain is in the forecast, we recommend leaving vehicles on the gravel drive and walking the 10 ft distance to camp. The hay-wagon stage may be a better spot for tents if there is heavy rain. Check out our Extras for add-ons that include pork products raised right here on our farm, kiln-dried firewood, access to conditioned bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet, and even a photoshoot with a professional photographer. In front/side of the barn is the communal area for campers with a handwashing station, farm table, wood-fired grill, and receptacles for trash and recycling. Far Meadow Campsite

92%
(13)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 8 · Vehicles under 22 ft
Perfect for tent camping or van camping, this site is across the dam, in a wide open high grassy clearing overlooking the pond. Plenty of room to spread out. Great spot for stargazing. Can easily accommodate 4+ tents. Drive on in, turn right at the string lights to follow the road across the dam, and pass the large White Oak tree on the left. The open field ahead and to the left of the road has a mowed area with fire-ring, and that's your site! This site does not have hook-ups. Being in an open field, there is not much shade. That said, there is a gorgeous 200 year-old Oak tree nearby with plenty of shade and a tree swing. Feel free to set up a tent there, but do NOT drive or park under the tree branches as this will damage the roots. Bathroom use is the shared outhouse, located ~3 minutes walk from this site, back across the dam over by the pine stand.

The Whole Enchilada (Camping)

100%

RV/tent site · Sleeps 60 · Vehicles under 60 ft
Reserve all the camp-sites for a private gathering of family and friends that they won't soon forget. Camp all together or spread out across the farm! There are two sites with electric hookups and plenty of space for dispersed camping for tents and smaller campers/ vans. We can only accommodate one large RV at this time. There are 4 fire-pits (one at each site) with plenty of space to gather round and tell stories or roast marshmallows. Bathrooms include a shared outhouse/composting toilet, and free access to the shared conditioned bathroom with hot shower and flush toilet. We are on a septic system so flush toilet and shower use should be limited to avoid sewer backups. Please ask all guests to use composting toilet when suitable. Check out our Extras for add-ons that include pork products raised right here on our farm, kiln-dried firewood, and even a photoshoot with a professional photographer. In front of and beside the barn are communal areas for campers with hammocks, a hand washing station, farm table, wood fired grill, and receptacles for trash and recycling. There is drinkable water (hot and cold) available from the spigots on the side of the barn. Please note, while this booking includes access to the shared bathroom in the barn, it is NOT a rental of the barn. If you are interested in booking the barn for an event, please message us directly for rates. We live on the farm along with a few longer term tenants. The spaces around tiny houses and the campers of tenants are private and not part of the Whole Enchilada Booking.

Tiny Cabin Getaway

Cabin · Sleeps 2 · 1 bedroom · 1 bed · 1 toilet
Tucked into a quiet corner of a working farm, this tiny cabin features a clean, rustic aesthetic with natural materials. The space is intentionally simple, offering a comfortable place to rest, create, and spend time outdoors. The bathroom is in the barn--a short walk from the cabin and is fully conditioned. It includes a hot indoor shower with two shower heads, plus an outdoor shower that is especially nice when the weather is warm. Just outside the cabin is a restored brick chimney from the original home on the property, built over 100 years ago. The area around it includes a small covered front porch, string lights, a picnic table, and a sitting area to relax and unwind. There is also a shared outdoor grilling area available for guests nearby. We also have a farm / camp store on site, offering meats from our farm, firewood, and other essentials available for purchase. Our working farm includes sheep, pigs, a very friendly group of farm cats, and a donkey. Guests are welcome to explore the property and enjoy the stocked catch and release fishing pond, hammocks, open fields, and quiet places to sit. There is also a proper swing hanging from a limb of a 200 year old white oak. This stay is well-suited for an artist or writer’s retreat, a cozy home base after a show at the Haw River Ballroom, a launch point for outdoor adventures around the Haw River, or a quiet, romantic getaway for two. Please be aware that fences are electric and will deliver a shock if touched. There is also an unfenced pond, so please keep an eye on young children and keep pets on a leash at all times.
