Welcome to The Birdhouse near Farmer's Markets, Lakes and swimming holes. This is a great place to gather in a small group and take in the Catskills. 10 min to downtown Livingston Manor + close to lots of amazing hikes! One of my favorite hikes is right down the road and the house is close to Giant Ledge / Panther for a little more exercise. :) You can have a lovely time on the property exploring the meadows and woods. There's even a natural spring 1/2 mile up the road if you want to take some fresh mountain water on your journey. We love enjoying meals on the deck and we are walking distance to rivers, streams and lakes are only a 10 min drive where you can sunbathe on the beach! We're @livingston_manor_birdhouse :). We have a solo one person kayak that you can use ($50/day)- need to sign a safety waiver.

Delaware County, NY is an absolute gem. The cottage is ideally situated in the middle of all the little hot spots this side of the mountain has to offer.
You'll have privacy and access to the entire cabin and all 5.5 acres of natural beauty. Huge picture windows bathe the cabin in light, a wood burning stove, comfortable furnishings along with light hardwood floors completes the look.
Many opportunities for hiking, fishing, and swimming abound. High speed wifi and centrally located, just 12 min into town. 2.5-3 hrs from NYC.
Belleayre Mountain Ski Center is an easy 23 minute drive, a great spot to ski or snowboard. Alternatively, Platekill Mountain is a 19 minute drive and offers some good slopes for snowboarding, snow tubing and skiing.
Main street in the town of Margaretville NY is a picturesque little village, just 12 min by car offering coffee shops, art galleries, a vintage thrift store, farm to table restaurants, the Binnekill Tavern, a favorite of mine and some boutique shops. You can also shop for all your groceries at Freshtown, a large supermarket that services the area.
Take county route 6 over to Andes NY, about a 20 min drive from the cabin and you will find yourself in another super cute little town offering more farm to table restaurants, boutique and antique shops and the hip Wayside Cider Tap Room.

This seasonal, cozy cabin is ideal for small groups to enjoy the splendor of the Western Catskills. Here you can connect with nature on six lovely acres perfect for star gazing.
Gather round the firepit or cozy up on the covered deck while watching the fireflies. Inside this unassuming one room cabin is a full size stove, fridge, sink, and dining table. Enjoy a restful, quiet sleep on the plush Queen bed fitted with luxurious bamboo sheets. An additional pillow topped Queen bed is available in the sleeper sofa making this the quintessential spot for up to four guests.
Our cabin is remote yet close to many nearby attractions including hiking, skiing, public access fishing along the Delaware, shopping, dining, adventure, and more. As this is a low grid, ecologically minded property it is important to note the following:
* There is no running water available, washing water and drinking water are provided.
* A clean outhouse is provided with a composting toilet.
* We provide an outdoor shower during the warmer months only. The shower utilizes non potable rain water and the amount of water available is dependent on the weather. A mini electric hot water heater will provide roughly 5-8 minutes of use.
* A woodstove with an automatic damper is the only source of heating in the cabin and requires an understanding of how to use it effectively. Guests will be provided an informational video of how to build a fire as well as the operation manual from the manufacturer. Guests should arrive accordingly as it may take time to warm the cabin.
* A window A/C unit is provided in the summer months.
* You will be residing in an area backing up to woods and next to open fields. As such you may encounter various wildlife like: insects, spiders, raccoons, birds, bees, mice, voles, chipmunks , squirrels, skunks, foxes, deer, coyotes, groundhogs, wild turkey, quail, and more. If you are squeamish about any wildlife encounters during your stay this is not the place for you.
These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them. We do not provide any refund if you encounter wildlife during your stay.
* There is no wifi or television, and cell service is minimal.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Scandinavian staycation cabin! The place was spacious, cozy, and the wood stove was our absolute favorite, it made everything feel so warm and homey. On our last morning, we even got some snow flurries, which totally made our day. Our cat loved hanging out on the stairs too. It was a little chilly at times, but overall we enjoyed our stay!

We absolutely loved our stay. The house was not only clean and comfortable but also sweetly decorated. It’s clear that a lot of heart and soul was put into the design. The house was also stocked with everything we needed. It was secluded enough for our kids and dogs to run and play outside without worry. And the short drive to the grocery store, shops and restaurants was convenient. Check in and out were seamless. Thank you!

We had a beautiful long weekend at the Scandinavian Staycation Cabin with our friends and dog. Everything in the home was arranged to be easy to find, clean, and comfortable, and the owner provided clear and helpful instructions for everything we needed. It was a lovely stay and we can’t wait to book another visit!
