What else is there to say? I'm a performer by nature, considered TransJester, and therefore I'm flowery in my admiration for Des and his small piece of literal Feywild magick. Throughout the entire process, he suffered my questions in regards to my 'cule, available water supply, and the general "Privacy" of the space. Not only did he answer every question that I had, he communicated in a timely manner, and never once left me hanging when I asked a silly or complex question! Even came home with a new felt friend!
Des, Sorry in advance. It's your own fault I must say, for facilitating an oasis tailor made for someone as eccentric as my group of creatures. If you're concerned about general physical (or invisible) disabilities, worry not. While the path down is gravel, Des offered a ride and assisted with the unpacking no questions asked. The Cabin, Kitchen, and Bathroom facilities are all immaculate. Mini Fridge, Ice Chest, Firepit, plenty of seating and grilling utensils, your community needs are met. Warm water shower?? Yes please! The Cabin was comfortable with bunk Full/Queen air mattress beds, functioning outlets, a TV, and AIR CONDITIONING! CPAP friendly!
The privacy was spectacular. We saw maybe 5 people (and even then, across a lake's worth of distance) the whole weekend. The freedom to be as comfortable as you deem necessary was wonderful. Plenty of tent space, with a few surprise vistas that you should experience on your own. Dogs welcomed, it's our new nature haven.

The owner helped us carry our supplies down when we arrived. The camp was very private. Kids and dog had a blast. The shower, sink and toilet made 'camping' a breeze!!

neversink sanctuary is a stunning site with plenty of space and amenities for our group of 20! beautiful, quiet and peaceful with access to the river - what more could you ask for?
des goes above and beyond to make the experience even more pleasant. you can tell he puts his heart into this site and making sure everyone is taken care of! we felt like we were in our own world but were relieved to know that he was just a quick phonecall away.
would highly recommend this spot and can't wait to come back in the coming years. thank you des!!!

This is a very special place. Absolutely beautiful grounds and the site has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The host was awesome, very nice and hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed for a great weekend. Highly recommend!!

Neversink Sanctuary was a great spot for our annual friend's get together. The cabin was extremely well-maintained with the grounds nicely spread out for larger groups. The outdoor kitchen area has everything you need and was amazing to cook from. Taking the kayaks out on neversink river were the highlight. Highly recommend visiting and experiencing Desmond’s hospitality for yourself.

This is the perfect campsite for serenity and tranquility. We were 6 guys that enjoy food, drinks and bbq. This provided all the needed items for our camping and Des was a wonderful host. Looking forward to coming back.

I absolutely loved this trip. Des’s land is a little slice of heaven. Once we were at our site, it felt so private. You could hardly hear anything that wasn’t water or birds (so many birds! And the eagles! 💙). Once in a while you might hear a car go by. The river rocks were perfect for hanging out on and our dogs loved exploring them. The cabin was cozy - and we needed some cozy with all the rain we had over the two nights we were there. A well thought out kitchen set up and outhouse rounded things out. I wish we could have built a fire, but there was lots of rain so we will just need to plan a return trip.
Perfect for a couple looking to get away, but could also see how much fun this would be with a group of friends, especially with that outdoor set up. Highly recommended.

Amazing Property Exceeded Expectations. you arrive to a house and have a moment of is this the right place. Then you walk through the meadow down a small embankment and you are suddenly in fern gully. This campsite is truly one of the best I have ever found. Des is super kind and brought down fire wood which made things very easy. the cooking setup is great propane stove on a mainline super easy no charcoal needed and there was a giant XL green egg and smoker. Mini fridge was extremly helpful for condiments ect. BUT the star of the show here is the never sink river. you are right on it. sleeping to the sound of a creek is excellent. lots of space for tent camping and hammocks and the beds in the cabin were nice air matresses that staid well inflated for our 3 day adventure. I love it and would recommend booking this property. Kayaks and swimming all day and a huge fire pit with lots of seating. It rained one evening but there was more than ample cover for our group of 8 people.

This campsite is absolutely gorgeous! Des built the whole place himself. The cabin was perfect with AC. Kayaking while watching the eagles fly around was incredible, I highly recommend doing that. Overall, amazing experience! We will definitely be going back :)

We went to Des’s land 4 times so far. This time was for my husband’s birthday. We had a blast as usual. The cabin was so warm in the end of the October which is awesome.

This is a perfect location for a little getaway. It does not feel like you are in somebody's backyard at all. Des has thought of everything you could possibly need and supplied it. Would absolutely recommend.

Our group loved camping on Neversink Sanctuary for my boyfriends 30th! It was such a serene campground especially having river access, the outdoor kitchen and so many amenities on site (we recommend bringing lump charcoal for the big green egg). We made pizzas, smoked a chuck roast, did some fishing, saw some bald eagles, cold plunged, had campfires and made so many more amazing memories here. It has great access to Livingston Manor one of our favorite towns upstate. It’s close to Upward Brewery and we had a great time there hiking Beer Mountain. Des is very kind and does a great job to make your experience as great as it can be. The cabin was so cozy and we also camped out. Amazing property! We’ll definitely be back!

Des was great to us. I host a get together once a year and one of the hardest things is getting a property host who cares and is reliable. He met us when we arrived and took all of our stuff down to the camp. All that was advertised was present, plus extras. The cabin sleeps 4 on the mattresses and you can totally fit another 2 or 3 on the floor. We popped up tents all over the yard as well. Other fun things included the bald eagle nest across the river, kayaking (he has 2 that are included), campfires (he sells wood), kan jam and frisbee.

Beautiful spot and lovely, welcoming hosts. Des and Tracey are awesome! The location is peaceful, right next to the river, and the site has a great outdoor kitchen with grill etc. Outhouse is clean, fire pit is perfect, and my son enjoyed playing the lawn games provided. Overall, my family and I had a very positive experience!

Des was incredibly hospitable and provides a secluded, quiet, and beautiful place to unwind. The amenities were clean and he had many activities/board games to keep yourselves occupied! The camp is located across from a sanctuary which provides privacy and tranquility. We found the most interesting part of our experience was spending the weekend so close to an eagles nest. If you looked up and across the river, you were able to see two beautiful bald eagles flying to and from their nest.
For those looking for proximity to a downtown area/restaurants and bars … this HipCamp is about an hour from Woodstock!

Neversink Sanctuary is one of the best place/campsite I’ve ever been. Des is awesome he definitely gave us 5 star service and hospitality. The cabin is warm and very cozy, kitchen has everything you need and most of all the place it self is breathtaking. Neversink Sanctuary is just a perfect name for it. My family and I will definitely coming back.

My wife and I took a last minute glamping trip and we could not have picked a better spot than the Neversink sanctuary. The campsite is beautiful, and des & Tracy are extremely helpful. We will definitely be returning next year!

We had the best time at Neversink Sanctuary! Des really has put a lot of love into the site- he’s thought of everything. With the full kitchen set up, all the toys and games he provides, the cozy cabin- you can’t ask for more. You certainly don’t need to leave the site on the river but if you do, there’s great local hiking and cute little towns to explore nearby. Beyond the site itself, Des was really responsive, kind and helpful- toting our gear down to the area and providing firewood and fresh eggs. We would love to return in the future and would recommend Neverskink to anyone!

We had such a great time at this campsite. Almost anything imaginable was available there including the tiny cabin, smart tv, yard games, a smoker, pizza oven, etc. The site is very private with direct access to the Neversink river. It’s close to some really nice hiking too. Des and Tracy were very responsive and knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommend!

Des has truly made a sanctuary on the neversink river. All the extra details and amenities helped make a seamless, memorable and relaxing weekend spent enjoying the river and cooking over the fire. Would highly recommend for small groups and particularly those who want a dose of nature but aren’t necessarily the roughin’ it camping type.
