It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that make you feel like you are in another world. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. On low sunny days, solar lights may not last as long into the evening. On rainy days the property can be very muddy and access to the top of the hill to the sites would be best accessed with a 4WD vehicle as well as winter time with snow on the ground. Our Taino Woods Sanctuary, a.k.a Fairy Magical Sweet Land, of twelve acres in the Catskills is the perfect place to commune in prayer, pitch your tent, gaze up at the stars, and unwind next to a nearby fire. This raw, soft, organic land is a home teeming with life. Listen to the birds as they sing throughout the day and into the night. (We call them the fairies). Look for the curious creatures that walk the earth like the frogs and newts. Open your ears to the sweet sounds of the East Mongaup River; and perhaps take the brief walk down to visit her. Relax at Tilden Hill Farm its a 155 acre farm raising Black Angus Cattle it has been in the Brewer family for seven generations. Founded in 1798 by Josiah Brewer, the farm has served as a grist mill, chicken farm, cheese factory. We offer several types of site selection for your comfort. Choose from our private tent camping to relaxing RV sites. Our tent sites are quiet and scenic, just a quick walk down to the pond. Some of our sites you can park next to, but a few you will have to walk ~100 yards with your belongings. There are 2 bath houses on the campground with hot showers and toilets. All sites include a fire pit and picnic table. We have 10 full hook up sites (water/electric/sewer) and 9 sites with water and electric. There is a dump station and fire wood available to all for a fee. Once settled in, take a meandering walk through our 12 miles of walking trails or find your way down to our pond. The cabin was the perfect size for my fiancé and me! We enjoyed cooking over the fire pit and hiking down to the river and waterfall. It was quite cold while we were there but the space heater really did the job when turned on to max for a couple hours, we even had to shed a couple blankets! Would definitely return, especially in the warmer months to cross the river and see the waterfall up close. The only heads up is that the bathroom is a short walk up a small hill to a port-a-potty. Amy was helpful and the directions were clear! The free kindling was much appreciated.

I had a fantastic time at Peter’s Awakening Cabin. It was incredibly peaceful - I enjoyed using the fire pit out front and the wood burning stove inside. Perfect place to read audiobooks, think, and enjoy time in nature.

Weekend Trip to Firefly Acres - Star Gazing Views

The cabin was nice. It had good heating, a nice bed, a nice bathroom, and it had lots of forms of entertainment. The cabin also had wifi and a flat screen tv you could stream on. The host was also very good with helping us if we were confused on anything. I definitely plan on staying here again.

everything you’ll ever need for a cozy stay outdoors. we chose this spot because of the tiny shelter it afforded during what was going to be below freezing temps. The kitchen space and bed set up was much appreciated and allowed us to focus enjoying the stay itself. The owners were super helpful getting us setup and providing a welcoming space. Bring layers and everything you need to keep warm in the winters - we even caught a light snow storm on our morning of departure! would come back again.

I loved everything about this place. It felt welcoming and cozy from the moment we arrived. When I messaged Sam, he responded right away and provided everything we needed. My partner and I accidentally caused an issue with the plumbing, and we felt truly sorry about it, but Sam was incredibly understanding and even comforted me during the situation. I’m very grateful for his kindness. We stayed at the tiney camper with spring tub and brook. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this place.

Beautiful property and so convenient to not have to put up my own tent. The tent is wonderful equipped with a wood burning stove. I camped on a reeeealllly cold & windy night so it was nice to have my Mr. Buddy heater to supplement in the middle of the night when I didn’t feel like tending to the fire. I didn’t have time to explore the other paths and I’m so bummed because it looked like an amazing place to frolick! If you are a star gazer, this is your place! The hosts were so amazing and very accommodating. I appreciated the fire!

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth

The site is tucked back in hidden from everything but a field. The tent is great and the wood stove worked wonderfully once we remembered how vents work. The bed was quite comfortable but pick your side wisely if you are over 6 ft. The outhouse seems brand new and the short trails around the property are a nice morning walk. We were comfortably warm in the 30s, except for when I let the fire go out. Will definitely be stopping by again when it warms back up.
