Magic Forest Farm

11 sites · RVs, Tents225 acres · Coeymans Hollow, NY
Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at a accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is a alternative. We produce much of our own food. We own a sawmill, and have many natural building projects started. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive. A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed.

Tomtuga on the Erie Canal

4 sites · RVs2 acres · Gasport, NY
Thank you for looking at what I have to offer. We love to have fun here. Which is why we call our little campground Tomtuga. It is sort of a reference of the Caribbean pirate island of Tortuga, except my name is Tom. I'm here mostly for the canal and living the pirate life but there have been sightings of Bigfoot and his cousin Yeti. They show up once in awhile to keep things interesting.  Here at Tomtuga we are 2 acres with the Erie Canal across the front on a quiet street and the Genesee Valley Transportation, a local shortline railroad across the backyard. Boat season is May - Oct. Train runs mostly just two days a week all year. Step out and give the boats and trains a friendly wave.   We are a hard packed base that can handle the very large RVs. Campsite #1 is where the 50amp / 30amp / 110 electric outlets are.  Campsite #2 is the only area that has a "good" grassy spot. There is no electricity here at this site. With only two campsites, along with my RV here, it is a rather peaceful camp. There are no bathrooms here, so I'm sorry but no tent camping available. We offer ''Buddy Camping'', in which if you are traveling with friends in a 2nd RV / camper. I allow you to both camp on the same campsite or split and use both sites. We can rent more campsites in our ''Overflow Site #3'', if you have more than two campers coming. Either way you will then need to rent both sites. You can also use tents in the grass area, if you brought them with you.  Also if you don't need power, like you have solar or batteries etc. I might allow you to park anywhere on our two acres. You can check the property out before setting up. I allow 2nd vehicles or also ''toads'' on the campsites too at no charge.   I'm Ok if you show up early from an overnight drive to the site and park in the main driveway. If there are not any previous campers onsite, I might let you into the site. Just let me know beforehand.  *No bathrooms on the property! You must have self contained units! When I get the bathroom built, this will change. **Again, NO Bathrooms here! If you try to book posing as a ''campervan'' but just a van or staying in a cardboard box on a trailer, don't book here. Please go stealth camp at Walmart, they have bathrooms and are free to overnight. I wouldn't pee in your yard.  No water hookups. No dumpstation either. We have free WiFi. Firewood available for $5 a bundle or bring your own. The local gas station has small bundles down the street for $8 each. * Please ask me before you let any of your dogs off leash. If there are other campers here, we all need to be in agreement on this. For their children and pets safety too. I do allow multiple dogs here. Again, please clean up after them. Do NOT just toss it into my woods or the canal.  Nice small canal town here with local eateries, including two pizza places; two bars and a breakfast lunch spot / laundromat / hardware store / Dollar General / gas station. We have a veterinary in town too.  All within a short walking distance.   NYS Bike path on the opposite side of the canal, goes from Buffalo to Albany. Some 350 miles.  Also a free NYS Canal boat ramp 1,800ft to the east, on our side of the canal. So bring your bikes / kayaks / boats / fishing poles. Rentals available in Lockport. Worms available at the hardware store in town. We are also open during the winter season, Uh yep. Please message me before hand because it depends on the snow depth if I'm letting campers in. *Special Bonus Offer - I am an online ordained minister and offer wedding nuptials here at Camp Tomtuga. Our twist is having your vows done by Rev Bigfoot or Padre Yeti in full regalia. Comes with an actual legal wedding license. Cake is an extra fee. NO Dumpstation here!!! There is one 20 minutes south, just off the NY Thruway at the Flying J Truck Stop. 8484 Allegheny Rd, Pembroke. It is in the RV fuel island. Costs is $10. Get the code inside. *Ask about our free camper sticker or buying a Camp Tomtuga T-shirt. The shirts are Made to Order and can be mailed out afterwards. Hey if you could, when on the booking page it asks you to "Say Hello". Please tell me what kind of camper you are coming in like an RV or trailer and the size. It asks you that question right above that but I don't receive that info till much later. It just helps me gauge on placement here. I have plenty of room but it's nice to know what it showing up. Thanks Lots of people asking so, we are 30 miles from Niagara Falls. Very easy ride there and back using NYS Rt 104. This route goes along the Niagara escarpment with lots of farms stands and a few wineries.  Most of my guests use my campsites as a basecamp to then go and explore Niagara Falls or even day trip to Toronto Canada 106 miles away. I provide a list of local NY info / places to visit in Canada and my experience on crossing the border.  My camp to downtown Buffalo is 38 miles. To downtown Rochester is 51 miles. Lake Ontario Olcott Beach is 17 miles. Letchworth NYS Park 60 miles. We are 42 miles to the Buffalo Bills (Highmark Stadium). Thanks again, I hope you come and stay.

@CatskillAdventure-Tent & Glamps

12 sites · Lodging, Tents105 acres · Hamden, NY
These Glamp sites are part of a historical farm estate in Catskill region. The house and the barn that stand on the 100+ acres have been there since the early 1800s. The glamps were originally setup for private use for friends and family, and have been a hit within that small inner circle. As guests to the farm house over the last few years continue to inquire as to how they can book/use the glamps, I decided to open them up for independent booking. They are nestled in an absolutely beautiful area within the Catskills and guests hear the constant sound of water in several glamps, experience nice 'tucked away' privacy in each of the glamps, yet 4 out of the 5 are no more than a 5 minute walk to the bathroom, and large social areas. The property has numerous nearby organic farms and tourist attraction, so there is plenty to do, when you are not relaxing and listening to music, snuggled next to a fire, watching a movie under the stars, or enjoy sparklers (small fireworks) in your own private slice of heaven. Learn more about this land: Limited Fall Foliage Availability...    Beautiful private estate with 105 acres. Multiple campsites, brook runs throughout property and waterfall, you can hear the sounds of running water throughout the property; making for a peaceful sleep. Glamp sites are sold as a 4 person/ 2 tent bundle and each group gets a dedicated inside shower and recreation area. Guests are free to hike within multiple hiking trails on the property or venture out to numerous state parks in upstate NY.Nearby cider mill, restaurants, brewery, distillery, hiking trails, canoeing & kayaking, antiquing, organic farm stores. Cooperstown is an hours drive and has 'baseball hall of fame' and Howes cavern.Fall foliage is absolutely beautiful from the vistas on the property. Also there is, pumpkin farm 10 minute walk away. Multiple BBQ grills on property for cookouts, outside cinema projectors available for movies under the stars, and Catskill care package 'add on' options available with local goods and services curated to your liking. Nimble Roots Farm

3 sites · Lodging145 acres · Jefferson Heights, NY
Nestled between the foot of the Catskill Mountains and the ambling Kaaterskill Creek, Nimble Roots Farm is located just minutes outside the town of Catskill, NY. Learn more about sustainable farming practices while exploring the woods, pastures, and creek-side flats of our 145 acre working farm. Located less than 10 minutes from downtown Catskill, 20 minutes to Hudson, and within 30 minutes to Woodstock, Saugerties, Tannersville, Germantown, etc. - there is so much to do, see and explore nearby. It is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are learning, living, gathering and growing on the ancestral lands of the Muhheaconneok or Mohican people, who are the indigenous peoples of this land. Despite tremendous hardship in being forced from here, today their community resides in Wisconsin and is known as the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. We pay honor and respect to their ancestors past and present as we commit to building a more inclusive and equitable space for all. We commit to amplifying and centering the history and current experience of the Stockbridge Munsee community. We invite and welcome Stockbridge-Munsee community members to this land to hold and engage in spiritual, cultural and social gatherings. We will donate 5% of all net proceeds from land-based enterprises to the construction of their new cultural center. We will work with community farmers and herbalists to plant, tend, save and exchange seed of culturally significant varieties of plants. We will lend our voices in efforts to reclaim ancestral land and to assert the sovereignty of their people.
