Cabine Luciole is a heritage Sugar Maple Cabin built in the late 1800's. It is located in an mossy, old growth maple forest with towering majestic maple trees. It is built on a leyline by Irish (Erin) settlers, giving it powerful energy to rejuvinate. You can also walk the cretan labyrinth, to bring balance.
catherdral tin roof cabin has enough space for dinning, entertaining and yoga, it also has a sleeping loft for 2 people, and can be used as a reading nook, bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels and you are welcome to set up a tent on the outdoor camping site. There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The site is booked for complete privacy, only one group booking at a time, so you have your own private spot in the woods. There is a fireplace in the cabin with plenty of wood. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are groomed peaceful walking trails. A sphere shaped cooking outdoor fireplace under firefly solar lights adds to the magical experience. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby).
The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling.

I am Karl and with my wife Danielle together we own 15 acres of peacefully settled forest on the edge of over 10,000 acres of State Forest land. It is on a seasonal road. I have no registered address, but a small sign marks my access road as Jacob Lane. This is a tribute to my friends. The Amish that helped me build our off-grid cabin. It is very quiet here, but we are an active homestead and work starts at 9am every day, we do our best to be considerate and ask the same from you. The forest rangers and DEC officers that patrol here keep a tight rein on the forest and its preservation. We have one guest cabin and several places a tent or RV can park. There are no hookups. Please bring some potable water. We do have spring water available but it's a drive. I first came here about 15 years ago. I would like to try and see if others would enjoy what we have made our lives. I do like to talk and although I don't lie, stretching the truth is an artform I have perfected so be prepared. There is a state-run beach and picnic area about 3 minute drive away on the Hinkley Reservoir. And a few other bodies of water to kayak and fish. We have Kayaks for use at an extra cost. We are about 15 to 20 minutes away from the Herkimer Diamond Mines. You can bike, hike, nature watch or just enjoy the peacefulness of the tree you chose to sit against. Down and ready firewood is everywhere if you want to bend over and pick it up. You can possess firearms on the property, but you may not discharge one without prior approval unless it's to save your life or that of another. There are places not far away that you can legally shoot and enjoy yourself. There are traditional outhouses on the property and for those that know how cat holing is allowed. Ask if unsure. No dumping tanks or portable toilets anywhere and that includes the outhouses. The state of New York has facilities at campgrounds that do a proper job with that type of waste. Camp Forever is a very special 45 acre property, located within the Adirondack Blue Line. It has been in my family since the early 30's. My grandfather carved a small campground out of the woods that he ran from the early 70's until the mid-80's. Some of my earliest and best childhood memories are from time I spent at the camp. In the mid-80's, my Uncle took Camp Forever over and ran it until around 2014. As a small private campground for over four decades, Camp Forever became a special place for many families from Quebec and from the local area.
My family and I recently purchased Camp Forever from my uncle and have by rehabbing the property for the past several years. We built an Adirondack Style leanto here in 2019 and have been cleaning up the campground area for the past two years. While Camp Forever will never become a "campground" again, I am thrilled to once again be able to share this unique property with anyone seeking good times in nature with family and friends. Come see why this place has been so special and important to my family and many others since the 70's and why it will continue to be a place where people can camp forever.

The camp was first built in 1905 by Dr. Goldsmith and family. The doctor and his family used the camp for summer vacations. During the winter the camp was rented out as winter hotel for loggers. Ice was harvested from the pond and stored in what is now one of the cabins.
When our family bought the place, the hotel was falling down and the buildings were in disrepair. Geoffrey, the family caretaker, has spent the last few years cleaning up the site. All that remains now of the hotel is the chimney while the ice house has become a cabin and has been improved and ready for visitors. We have a double futon, small wood stove and gas burners for a cozy indoor experience.
With 840 ft of pond frontage and 4.4 acres you can pitch a tent on the banks of the pond, up in the woods, or stay in the small cabin all are included in the cost of booking!
Swimming and boating in the pond is obligatory. Year round fishing has long been a tradition.
The spring fed pond is home to large and small mouth bass, northern pike, crappy, and blue gills. There are a number of ponds and state lands nearby. Accommodations include two outhouses and two docks so no waiting. There is a canoe and rowboat available and life jackets. The camp is car accessible Mid-May to the end of September.
There are summer cottages across the pond but not much happening on our side. Cedar Lodge, the nearest bar/restaurant, is about 5 minutes away and very popular all year round. The closest gas station and convenience store is about 20 minutes in the village of Parishville.

This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby).
The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling.
Queen sized bed - we provide the linens.

I am Karl and with my wife Danielle together we own 15 acres of peacefully settled forest on the edge of over 10,000 acres of State Forest land. It is on a seasonal road. I have no registered address, but a small sign marks my access road as Jacob Lane. This is a tribute to my friends. The Amish that helped me build our off-grid cabin. It is very quiet here, but we are an active homestead and work starts at 9am every day, we do our best to be considerate and ask the same from you. The forest rangers and DEC officers that patrol here keep a tight rein on the forest and its preservation. We have one guest cabin and several places a tent or RV can park. There are no hookups. Please bring some potable water. We do have spring water available but it's a drive. I first came here about 15 years ago. I would like to try and see if others would enjoy what we have made our lives. I do like to talk and although I don't lie, stretching the truth is an artform I have perfected so be prepared. There is a state-run beach and picnic area about 3 minute drive away on the Hinkley Reservoir. And a few other bodies of water to kayak and fish. We have Kayaks for use at an extra cost. We are about 15 to 20 minutes away from the Herkimer Diamond Mines. You can bike, hike, nature watch or just enjoy the peacefulness of the tree you chose to sit against. Down and ready firewood is everywhere if you want to bend over and pick it up. You can possess firearms on the property, but you may not discharge one without prior approval unless it's to save your life or that of another. There are places not far away that you can legally shoot and enjoy yourself. There are traditional outhouses on the property and for those that know how cat holing is allowed. Ask if unsure. No dumping tanks or portable toilets anywhere and that includes the outhouses. The state of New York has facilities at campgrounds that do a proper job with that type of waste. Camp Forever is a very special 45 acre property, located within the Adirondack Blue Line. It has been in my family since the early 30's. My grandfather carved a small campground out of the woods that he ran from the early 70's until the mid-80's. Some of my earliest and best childhood memories are from time I spent at the camp. In the mid-80's, my Uncle took Camp Forever over and ran it until around 2014. As a small private campground for over four decades, Camp Forever became a special place for many families from Quebec and from the local area.
My family and I recently purchased Camp Forever from my uncle and have by rehabbing the property for the past several years. We built an Adirondack Style leanto here in 2019 and have been cleaning up the campground area for the past two years. While Camp Forever will never become a "campground" again, I am thrilled to once again be able to share this unique property with anyone seeking good times in nature with family and friends. Come see why this place has been so special and important to my family and many others since the 70's and why it will continue to be a place where people can camp forever.

We supply sheets, blankets, TP, dish soap and kitchen items(silverware, plates, glasses, cookwear, etc). Potable water and firewood included. A short walk across the lawn to the outhouse. Gas lights inside. No internet so come get away from technology!

Please if staying with us in the winter four wheel drive is recommended. Or front wheel drive with decent snow tires. The driveway is long and the road up to it can be tricky during winter weather.

The camp was first built in 1905 by Dr. Goldsmith and family. The doctor and his family used the camp for summer vacations. During the winter the camp was rented out as winter hotel for loggers. Ice was harvested from the pond and stored in what is now one of the cabins.
When our family bought the place, the hotel was falling down and the buildings were in disrepair. Geoffrey, the family caretaker, has spent the last few years cleaning up the site. All that remains now of the hotel is the chimney while the ice house has become a cabin and has been improved and ready for visitors. We have a double futon, small wood stove and gas burners for a cozy indoor experience.
With 840 ft of pond frontage and 4.4 acres you can pitch a tent on the banks of the pond, up in the woods, or stay in the small cabin all are included in the cost of booking!
Swimming and boating in the pond is obligatory. Year round fishing has long been a tradition.
The spring fed pond is home to large and small mouth bass, northern pike, crappy, and blue gills. There are a number of ponds and state lands nearby. Accommodations include two outhouses and two docks so no waiting. There is a canoe and rowboat available and life jackets. The camp is car accessible Mid-May to the end of September.
There are summer cottages across the pond but not much happening on our side. Cedar Lodge, the nearest bar/restaurant, is about 5 minutes away and very popular all year round. The closest gas station and convenience store is about 20 minutes in the village of Parishville.

The cabin is secluded, cozy, and charming. Despite it being the snowy season, all the paths were shoveled and the heat inside kept us warm. Minutes away from the eastern coast of the lake and a short drive from Glens Falls and Lake George Village, the location makes you feel like you are in the woods while easily being able to grab a dinner in town. I thoroughly recommend this rental.

I had great stay in the snow- cabin has everything you need. One minor setback: my honda fit couldn't make it up the hill! In the winter make sure you have snow tires or 4WD

The cabin was nice and quiet. It stayed pretty warm in the cold weather. Julia and her family were amazing. She was extremely accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed. The breakfast was fantastic and we ended up doing the farm tour as well. It was cool to see all the animals and it was very thorough. We even got to feed some calves that were born the day before. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Goose and we’ll definitely be back.

This little cabin was a nice retreat away from home for a few days. Having bedding provided was a nice touch and the bed is very comfortable. The parking is not far from the cabin (maybe 50-100ft) and the driveway was even plowed very shortly after a few inches of snow fell during my stay. There’s a fair amount of yard space available, great for playing in the snow this time of year, and the steam right outside the cabin door is a pretty sight and sound every time you exit. This cabin is also perfect for anyone who doesn’t like dealing with a wood stove to keep warm, instead a gas radiator controlled by a digital thermostat keeps the cabin warm exactly how you like it, a very surprising but much appreciated bonus I found out after arriving. Overall, this cabin was fantastic, warm, and cozy, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for somewhat easy cabin camping in the winter.

Excellent get-away experience. Exactly as described, put together by folks who are very practically-minded and resourceful. Total peace and privacy with very good comfort in primitive setting. Wood stove was key to cold winter nights, plenty of heating capacity to spare. Gas mantle lights are very nice touch as well.
Host is immediately responsive and excellent communicator.

Weekend Trip to Mt Baker Tiny Cabin
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sara & Matt’s cabin! It’s tucked away in the woods and feels private, but it’s still close to downtown Saranac Lake (4 min drive). Make sure you follow the directions provided, Google Maps wanted to bring us the wrong way (do not turn left down Ledge Lane). There are little HipCamp logo signs that help guide the way at the end of the Saranac Lane when it turns to dirt. The cabin was very clean and inviting. It was cold the first night as the cabin is not insulted or have heat, but between the blankets they provide and the blankets we brought we were comfy. Really appreciated having drinking water provided! We will definitely be booking a return trip to this cabin in the future!

Lots of privacy despite being less than 5 minutes from down town Saranac Lake! The cabin is a great middle ground camping experience- no plumbing or electric but you still get the creature comforts of a bed. The blankets provided kept us warm despite low temps in the 40s. Only downside is the solar shower does not heat up when there’s no sun, but we made it work.

My husband and I stayed in Sara and Matt's tiny house the night after our wedding for some relaxation in the woods. It was truly an amazing place to stay that was beautifully crafted and VERY comfortable. The house is minutes from town where we had amazing meals at Blue Moon Cafe and Campfire and did some fabulous shopping. We enjoyed coffee on their porch and while we didn't get a chance to use the fire pit, it is very quaint and picturesque. Their outhouse is also very well crafted and thoughtfully stocked.
Thank you for the wonderful stay to start our married life! We can't wait to visit again!
