This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby). The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails. IMPORTANT DETAILS: This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling. Queen sized bed - we provide the linens. The driveway is narrow - so nothing in tow. Drinking water is provided via jug and dispenser. There is a brand new outhouse (no flushable toilet) We have a designated spot for campfires (smores are a must) There is an older propane grill outside for guest useThis is a newly built tiny cabin (10x16 interior) on a secluded 23 acre parcel. This peaceful cabin, nestled in the woods, is the perfect retreat after a beautiful day of hiking or biking. Relax on the deck and read a book or listen to the birds chirp. At night, build a campfire to roast smores or simply star gaze. Feel free to walk around and take in the beauty of this secluded property located just a mile from town.

All was wonderful at the Tiny Cabin! Sara was happy to provide hiking ideas, the cabin was cozy and clean, and the grill worked perfectly for meals.

Beautiful cabin
Beautiful cabin. You feel like you are far away from everything but you are 5 mins to anything you may need. Lots of good food options in the area. Good parking with solid ground. Nice outhouse that close by. Nice fire pit but no firewood, so bring your own. No heat inside cabin so be prepared in cooler weather. Even in the rain it was a nice place to be. The directions to cabin were great.

Relaxing weekend in a lovely cabin
Mt Baker Tiny Cabin was everything we needed to reset from daily life. We were sad to leave but look forward to coming back in the future. Sara & Matt made sure we had plenty of blankets to keep warm for the chilly September nights and respond quickly with any questions we had. The cabin, outhouse, and property are very well kept and incredibly peaceful. Our dog loved being able to sniff around and we didn’t have to worry about him running into other campers like we would at a campground. This was our first Hip Camp stay and Sara & Matt’s location made us Hip Camp believers! Thank you for a relaxing and much needed weekend in nature!

Great Cabin Stay!
We really enjoyed our time at the cabin! It was nice and clean and felt like home. The mosquitos were a bit crazy, but that was due to the excess rainfall. We got to enjoy a lot of wonderful weather and waking up in the rain in the cabin was serene. Matt and Sara were very responsive and helpful in the area! I would highly recommend this location!

Mt Baker Tiny Cabin
I stayed at this property with my partner and our dog. We absolutely loved staying in Sara and Matt’s tiny house. It feels so secluded but is very close to some great trails for hiking. The bed was super comfortable, and we had everything we needed for a great weekend.
