Toilet was not good. Also, there is no flat area for a tent. Your wood was awesome! Expected better facilities.
This was my third time staying here, and once again, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Everything is clean and well maintained, and the host is always welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
It’s the kind of place where you can truly disconnect, relax, and enjoy nature. After three amazing stays, I can already say that I’ll definitely be back for a fourth!

Knotty Pines
This is such a great camping spot. I am a longtime Hipcamper and this is among my favorite stays. The site is very clean, well-designed and secluded. This is not one of those spots where the photos are taken from the best (and only) good angle. It is as nice in person as it looks in the photos.
Fantastic host too.
We had a great time tent camping with a family of 6. Knotty Pines was very secluded and a wonderful/peaceful area. We heard lots of wildlife and even had a critter come running through our campsite. We are pretty sure it was a mink or maybe a weasel. As we were about to pull into the driveway we got to see a huge porcupine. First time ever seeing one. All around it was a great time/experience.

Beautifully private campsite and great hosts! Loved waking up with the birds
Good for privacy. Very secluded. It was the first leg of my trip, so it was a good spot to get my self sorted. Ground is very level. Driving in and out is easy.

my group was arriving late, around 1am and just needed somewhere to crash near the park . Cara was very easy to reach and allowed the late check in. As morning came we really got to see how beautiful the land was, I wish we spent a couple night instead of one . Super peaceful, quiet and private . Highly recommend

Had a great time at Knotty pines! The site is quite private and has tons of room, it could definitely fit a bigger group of people. There’s also a basketball court that’s available to guests which is pretty cool. Will definitely be back if we’re in the area!

What a great spot! Quiet and peaceful. I camped in the winter and can imagine that the warmer months would be fantastic. Highly recommend this spot when in the area.
The RV site was great and felt secluded. There were scenic hikes we could embark on from the site without even getting into our vehicle (we just needed to exit the property via the driveway and walk over to a public road).
The RV was clean and we had no issues with any equipment.
We did a day excursion to Ausable Chasm which was really cool and it was a short drive. The firewood we purchased from the host was a generous amount and we were allowed to gather our own deadfall as well. The campfire pit was in great shape and overlooked a very pretty marsh. We cooked steaks over the fire one night while watching the sunset and did simple eggs on the cooktop in the RV.
It was a great romantic getaway with the missus!

Overall the experience was enjoyable and Cara and her husband are both very kind. The property is very nice and you do feel very secluded.
The only issue we had was with the fire wood. We had a group of 4 for 3 nights and it was very cold each night ( at or below freezing) and the highs were around 60. Needless to say we needed A LOT of fire wood. We bought 2 bundles for 20$ through the reservation which got us through the first day or so which included treated building lumber. We foraged for as much as we could but as stated it was very cold so everything was frosted over every morning and wet. We bought another bundle and upon seeing how small it was asked for much more when they finally brought back their truck with 4 more bundles of wood. I just feel as tho it’s not very clear how much each bundle will allot you, and if you have guests staying in below freezing temps you should have the site stocked with more than enough wood — especially when it is so bountiful on the property. Also, the comment from the husband to “burn pine needles” when we told him the foraging wood was wet was not very necessary.
All in all it was a good experience but offering more wood and being more clear about how much you get is definitely a suggestion.
We loved Outerspace! We stayed at the Knotty Pines site and it was awesome - private, cozy, and had everything you’d need for camp including table & chairs, cooking grate, some utensils, and sink. Cara was so nice and had some great suggestions for things to do. Easy to find, easy to drive in an out, clean toilet…a really great spot!

A perfect campsite for a brisk evening - thanks! Cara was quick to respond and directions were accurate. Sky was clear which made for very vibrant star gazing. Nice, quiet, clean and secluded campsite - highly recommend!
This campsite was amazing! We wanted the pond site originally but so happy we went with Knotty Pines. It has everything you want to have when camping. Big pines, view of the stars, and a big fireplace. Not to mention a swing set, picnic tables, and plenty of space. This campsite was BIG! Our host Cara was by far the kindest host we have ever had on our hipcamps. She was so welcoming and down to earth. She’s committed to make sure your experience a good one. Could not have been happier with this site. We absolutely loved it!

Knotty Pines was such a lovely secluded spot. Cara and her sweet dog Jack welcomed me upon arrival. She gave me all the details on the site and surrounding area. I arranged to have firewood ahead if time through the Hipcamp site, and everything was ready when I got; Cara even covered it to protect it from a possible thunderstorm.
Super site, next time I'll stay for more than one night.
First time taking the family out camping and was a great success. Beautiful weather and amazing site made it that easier to be less stressful. Hands down will come here again. Super clean and ever easy to get to. Thank you for letting us come!!!!

We absolutely loved camping in Knotty Pines! The site, while on the property they live on, was very secluded and peaceful. Lots of birds chirping and plenty of good hammock trees made for a very relaxing time there. The site was very roomie and had one of the best fire set ups I’ve seen at any campsite: a place to keep logs off the ground and covered with a tarp plus a huge brick fire pit. The location was central to many of the hikes we wanted to do in the area and is only about 15 minutes from any shopping needs you may have. Only thing to note is that the coyote population is high in the area and we heard them howling and barking nearby a couple nights. That is to be expected anywhere in this area and didn’t bother us much, but if you have small animals you camp with, make sure you keep them nearby and have space for them in your tent or camper.

What a great spot! What a great family. When I arrived I was greeted and directed to my campsite. The campsite well kept and my firewood was there waiting for me.
It’s the third time I have camped here at Knotty Pines and I enjoy this site very much (which is why I keep coming back). Cara is a terrific host and replies quickly to my messages. It is so quiet here and peaceful; the perfect way to unwind with nature.
