Loved this spot! As other reviews state, don’t expect it to be totally secluded, and you won’t be disappointed. I was looking for convenience rather than complete seclusion, and it was perfect for my needs. The three sites are fairly close together, so you will see your neighbors if the others are occupied, and the road is very close, so expect road noise. That said, I happened to be the only camper in the space and enjoyed complete privacy during my stay. Loved the direct access to the water from all sites, and really appreciated the large, clean porta potty (shared by the 3 sites), the fire ring, and the addition of a picnic table. The location was very easy to find, I was easily able to drive right into the site with my low FWD sedan, and felt completely safe as a solo female camper. The location was ideal for hiking Jay & Giant, and I hope to stay here again!

Good site but the driveway in was a little rough. Tree stumps on the way in to site 1 which I could not see very well so be on look out. Expensive but close to hiking trails at least

Beautiful site, but right next to a busy road. A bend in the highway means you can hear and see passing cars for like 20 seconds. It’s still beautiful and comfortable but you’re not in peaceful nature - especially for the price tag. $80 a night to be woken by traffic is not worth it.

We had a great weekend on this property. It’s beautiful and super convenient as far as driving to local trails! Would absolutely recommend.

The site was great! We loved beeing right on the river and the proximity to the mountians for hiking.
The down side was the traffic noise. I saw that there was mixed review on this aspect which is my fault but I prefer more secluded locations.

Loved the location on the banks of the east branch, we didn’t have any neighbors during our stay but the sites were fairly spread out anyway. Portapotty was very clean. Only thing that wasn’t perfect was the road noise but it did die down by the evening. Great base camp!

We really enjoyed Jay’s campsite. Ours was located right next to the river, with beautiful views, and tucked away nicely in the woods. We heard lots of owl calls and other nice bird songs.
Very close to Keene Valley and the high peaks. There is firewood available for sale, which we appreciated. Would absolutely recommend to a friend.

The campsite was perfectly located near great trailheads, and was so peaceful by the river. Easy to get to, wood was easy to access, clean toilet and cleared area to set up camp. Would definitely come back.Thank you!

Second time staying here. Great private site right on the river would 100% stay again!
Excellent spot to rest for an adventure motorcyclist. Spot was so pretty. The outhouse was super clean. Camping spot was clean. Would stop here again if I'm in the area.

Wonderful spot close to the river. Us and our dogs loved it. Perfect location in relation to a bunch of awesome hikes, gear store, and lake placid.

Beautiful, well kept campsites in the pines with great access to the river. My friends and I had a nice overnight stay and the dog really enjoyed playing in the river. However, the place was a bit pricey for being just a basic campsite with limited amenities. We paid a total of $110 for one night. There was a porta potty available, but that was mostly it. The listing stated that firewood was provided, but a sign by the firewood pile stated that it was $5. We ended up just collecting sticks from the ground and burning those. Also, it was right by the road so there were cars frequently passing by, as well as, the campsites being right next to each other which makes it less private. We did overall have a nice time and loved camping amongst the trees with the river nearby so I would recommend it for that reason, but just be warned that it comes with a pretty hefty price tag.

There were also nice firepits and a couple grill plates.

Beautiful spot on the Ausable River and easy to find. Very peaceful
Conveniant location to hikes and downtown. The river view / private beach area was lovely! Our site was flat and spacious for spreading out a little campsite with a few friends. We even got a clear view of the northern lights from the river rock beach area. After driving in Initially it was a little tricky to decipher which spots were the separate camp designated areas but they were spread out nicely. You can see your neighbors a tad while being far enough apart to feel private.

The site itself was flat and woodsy and great. The bonus was the stunning riverside rocky and sandy beach just beyond. I’m definitely coming back.

Easy to get to and beautiful location along the ausable east branch!
Lovely tent stay by a running river, super peaceful and relatively private. You are somewhat near a rather popular roadway, but it's not much of a bother overnight. Besides that you feel relatively alone. Other campsites within ear shot but again, not much of a bother. Site is a bit small, so probably would only fit one large-ish tent or a couple smaller tents. Firewood is available which is nice. Overall nice stay, rather pricey for a tent site but I suppose that's sort of everywhere in the Adirondack park area.

Super easy to find the site, and beautiful lot alongside a riverbed. Close to Algonquin peak, so it made for a good spot to sleep before a long hike. Equally
Great campsite right by the river and right by Keene and the High Peaks! This was exactly what we needed. The camp spot was flat, well shaded, and quiet. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Really nice spot! The sites are a bit close together, but we got lucky the other campers were very quiet.
This site is amazing. Beautiful river views and very close to downtown Lake Placid and many great hiking trails. Jay was very kind and even helped us out when our vehicle got stuck. Highly recommend!

The views and the location were perfect! We loved being on the river. The site could be ameliorated with a cleaner bathroom situation or a compost toilet.

A truly lovely camping spot. We loved the river and all the campsites were well wooded. The location was easy to find after speaking to the host. There is a porta potty on site for all three sites to use. We loved that we were able to check in at 2 pm and not have to check out until 12 pm. We stayed for two nights and it gave us so much time to enjoy the beauty of the camping area. Campsite one has a small bar like table that has been built out of wood but the only thing I wish the campsite provided was a table, we brought our own though so it was no issue. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a relaxing weekend at the river to stay at one of Jays sites.
