Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's top treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose.
Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. I wanted a cabin in the woods forever and my boys built me this awesome cabin! Drive down in good weather, walk or snowshoe in winter, about 3-400 yards. Beautiful, DRY {No running water}, no electricity cabin. Called "Unplugged" for several reasons: No electricity, No internet and most phones don't work! Bring books! 16 x 20 with a loft with stairs. Queen bed in loft and futon downstairs. Has an outhouse. Stocked with basics for cooking on regular size grill, small grill and new 2 burner camp stove.
Cabin is well insulated, uses a Big Buddy heater for heat in winter .The rain barrel is only for water for fire pit! Not drinkable!! You fill the black bucket and put it near fire pit while having a camp fire. New solar lights installed, really brightens up cabin!

Nick is so great! We stayed on 12/20 at the Magick Cabin Adventure. It was so fun and cozy and a perfect weekend getaway. When we got there he offered to dive our stuff up on his snow mobile since it had snowed. Told us the story of what inspired him to build the Magick Cabin and it was so fun! I love how interactive the experience was. And Nicks ability to use every inch of space in that cabin was incredible. You can tell he put his all into it and all the tiny details. Was incredible to see. The best part was Chaga, his dog, he stayed up at the cabin all night making it feel super safe. He is very friendly and our 3 dogs loved him.

We had a wonderful time at the Magick Cabin! We booked the cabin for a weekend get away with the dogs, but never expected to have an “escape room” experience with the puzzles and clues Nick designed into the cabin. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun staying in the cabin and trying to solve the puzzles Nick thoughtfully integrated throughout the cabin!
We stayed on a cold night, but between sleeping bags and keeping the fire going, the cabin was warm throughout the night. Overall, we found the cabin to be cozy and inviting. There were sitting areas with beautiful view not to far from the cabin and the out house is a short walk. Chago checking up on us throughout the night was extremely precious and cemented the stay as a great experience.

The cabin was adorable. I enjoyed my weekend “unplugged.” There are solar lights which work perfect when the sun goes down. The cabin contained everything needed for cooking. There were several options for additional lights if needed - including lanterns to take to the outhouse. I enjoyed a quiet and relaxing weekend!

Beautiful location, great host and overall an awesome place to stay! My wife and I plus our two dogs stayed here for my birthday weekend and loved it. My favorite Hipcamp so far! Stunning property with amazing views, tons of privacy and almost no road noise & light pollution. The cabin is very spacious & comfortable and the outhouse is very clean. There’s even an actual flush toilet & shower. Joe met us with some fresh raspberries & a warm welcome. My after dark walk with my dogs was my most memorable moment - nothing but nighttime insect sounds, moonlight & the wind in the leaves. We will definitely be back - truly a very special place!

4 nights at Crescent Moon Cabin
Nice remote secluded cabin sitting above a lake - the road to cabin is a 1 lane very steep hilly 'road' in some areas aka snowmobile trail. Make sure you bought all the groceries you need at Market Basket when you get off main highway (93) as there aren't ammenities close to cabin (get icecream for freezer!). There is quite a number of stairs to climb down to the lake so be prepared for the return trip up. Having the screened in porch and screened in gazebo was key for relaxing, eating and playing games bug free. Fire ban prevented camp fires in the designated fire pit, but great area with wood supplied. The 4 in one microwave/frier/oven was helpful. Mr Coffee maker essential. Mugs and glasses, cutlery provided. Glad we brought a 5 gallon jug of potable water with pump for our 5 days/4 nights. The BBQ was well used, we brought our own cast iron pan which make cooking faster on grill for brunch. Toaster in cabin. Weather cooled off for us, so we weren't swimming in lake as planned and we had to turn on the propane heater at night. The outdoor shower was refreshing, love taking a shower outside. The bed upstairs was comfortable, there were multiple fans to use too. Watch your head going upstairs (low clearance for anyone taller than 5'8ish) and the stairs are steep, you must be careful on them at night. Wifi spotty inside but much better on porch and in gazebo. Overall, nice cabin and enjoyable stay - not an overcrowded lake spot.

This Hipcamp was absolutely gorgeous. The land was filled with wildflowers and fruit, and you can tell so much heart and soul went into creating and caring for this property. It’s peaceful, relaxing, and even better than the pictures online. The house was cozy and comfy with everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay. The view, the outhouse, so much attention to detail! Truly a special spot—we’ll definitely be back!

Joe is a great host! My wife and I absolutely loved our stay this weekend. The setting is very private, lending quite the romantic and relaxing feel. The cabin itself was very comfortable and clean, with stunning views over the hills and the meadow in front.
It’s so well stocked that we only had to bring clothes, food, and drinking water. There’s even a pour over coffee setup!
If you wait until late afternoon when the sun has warmed up the water tank, you can shower while looking over the majestic ridge. While we were unable to take advantage of the brick oven pizza this time, we came home with an abundance of fresh blueberries picked right from the farm!

We were looking for a bit of post-hiking R&R with our dog, and we came to the right place. The Owl's Nest combined a beautiful and secluded landscape with a cabin that was artfully and thoughtfully crafted from top to bottom. As previous commenters have noted, despite it's cozy size, we didn't feel as though any detail was missed. The outdoor shower was cold but a much appreciated treat after the morning. Once we were cleaned up all of the supplies were ready for us to make a fire and enjoy the view over a meal, and finally to retreat back to the cabin where the view was still the highlight through the many windows. We loved our stay and will definitely not hesitate to visit again.

I stayed at the cabin for 4 days with my two dogs. The quiet and peaceful spot was perfect. The cabin had all need with plenty of solar lights and the battery operated fan in the bedroom was a lifesaver on the hot nights. We explored the area during the day and it’s just beautiful up there. Lorraine and Jay respected my privacy but they were close by if I needed anything. I will definitely be back.

The Owl's Nest was amazing. The views were spectacular!!! Joseph definitely put his heart and soul into building the cabin and creating a wonderful romantic space to either relax or go hiking. He also offers sawmilling sessions but we didn't have enough time there. It was so quiet and serene. Our dog absolutely loved the space, she got to roam free and off leash. We got to see an owl. We heard a moose but never saw it probably because of our dog. The whole cabin is hand built, I was just amazed at the workmanship that went into this whole place. Everything was well thought out. You don't need to come with anything, he has everything there for you. We will definitely be going back, and we will be recommending Owl's Nest to whomever wants to just get away from the day to day life and de-stress.

Denise’s campsite is a true gem! Everything about the experience was too notch. The site was very clean and prepared when we got there. In fact, it’s so well-done that you quickly forget the site is at the back of someone’s property. The cabin was perfect. Large enough for the four of us to hang when it rained and just chill. The beds were comfortable. We all just brought sleeping bags and used them on the bed. The site itself was great. Plenty of wood, chairs, and cookware. The shower warms up quickly and is just what you need to keep fresh. Highly recommend this spot. It was the perfect spot for our annual guy’s weekend.
