Milo has mant tent sites, car camping sites (for retroverted cars & sprinter vans), 6 cabins, a luxury guest space for you to stay! Sorry we DO NOT have any RV spots at this time. Our cabins are the Hippie Trailer, which is located near the west woods near the Fairy Forest. Then the Bunkhouse just past the big barn on the north end of the property. The lodge, where the Airbnb and pool are is centrally located on the land. We rent out the lower level guest quarters for non-campers. We have a Hobbit Hut near the Frog Pond, a Boho Bus near the entry way and several Vardos (gypsy wagons). For our tent campers there are tent sites in the Eastfield, including the Movie set location of the DM Cabin, and for diehard campers the beauty of primitive pack-in/pack-out camping of Freedom Field is a joy! Feel the energy of the sacred land.
We also have SO may attractions! There are 2 stocked ponds, miles of trails, pool, Zen garden, farm animals, a library and more. Find all the portals here!

Narrative about Selby Farm:
Selbys have lived on this farm since 1990. Doug and Brenda are retired from teaching at nearby public schools. Our Farm is now dedicated to boarding retired horses for their owners.
We practice rotational grazing for the health of the horses and the health of our pastures. The horses live in a herd as they would in the wild. Basically, they are hanging out with their friends! They also get regular care and feed and so are VERY happy. You will see and probably interact with the horses if you wish. They are guaranteed to come closer if you have treats like carrots and apples slices.
Our quiet county road used to be the main road along the river. A hundred years ago it was called "Shanty Road". The shacks that were along it housed workers that harvested food from farms in the river bottom. The only evidence of those shacks now is perrenial flowers growing in unusual places. The area is inhabited by professionals working in nearby towns and cities. In fact there are only five homes along our 1.5 mile section of Copps Chapel Road.
The native Americans who used this area did so because of the great diversity of wildlife and availability of water. Also the view is amazing in all directions. Was using this ridge top encampment for security, or just because the view is so satisfying?
The Missouri River is on the far side of the bottoms now, but has been very close historically. There is also a large spring flowing from a cave nearby. These river hills are composed of soils blown in from the end of the last ice age. Being near the river, erosion has cut down the surrounding area making the scenic topography associated with Missouri River valleys and river hills.

The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away.
This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.)
We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like.
We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!).
Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

Located only 50 miles SE of Kansas City, MO! We have woods and pasture with Settle's Ford Wildlife area (fishing and hiking available) 1/4 mile away. Camping is primitive with only an outhouse and no shower facilities. There are MANY thorn trees, so hikers must have proper footwear. Fire ring, wood and a grate for cooking are provided. Livestock encounters are also available with owners in attendance. All proceeds are put back in the farm to care for the animals and the land. Parking area is at the end of the driveway and a cart is provided to take your gear across the bridge. We love kids and will provide lawn darts or any other games we have available if requested. The lodge, where the Airbnb and pool are is centrally located on the land. We rent out the lower level guest quarters for non-campers. We have a Hobbit Hut near the Frog Pond, a Boho Bus near the entry way and several Vardos (gypsy wagons). For our tent campers there are tent sites in the Eastfield, including the Movie set location of the DM Cabin, and for diehard campers the beauty of primitive pack-in/pack-out camping of Freedom Field is a joy! Narrative about Selby Farm:
Selbys have lived on this farm since 1990. Doug and Brenda are retired from teaching at nearby public schools. Our Farm is now dedicated to boarding retired horses for their owners.
We practice rotational grazing for the health of the horses and the health of our pastures. The horses live in a herd as they would in the wild. Basically, they are hanging out with their friends! They also get regular care and feed and so are VERY happy. You will see and probably interact with the horses if you wish. They are guaranteed to come closer if you have treats like carrots and apples slices.
Our quiet county road used to be the main road along the river. A hundred years ago it was called "Shanty Road". The shacks that were along it housed workers that harvested food from farms in the river bottom. The only evidence of those shacks now is perrenial flowers growing in unusual places. The area is inhabited by professionals working in nearby towns and cities. In fact there are only five homes along our 1.5 mile section of Copps Chapel Road.
The native Americans who used this area did so because of the great diversity of wildlife and availability of water. Also the view is amazing in all directions. Was using this ridge top encampment for security, or just because the view is so satisfying?
The Missouri River is on the far side of the bottoms now, but has been very close historically. There is also a large spring flowing from a cave nearby. These river hills are composed of soils blown in from the end of the last ice age. Being near the river, erosion has cut down the surrounding area making the scenic topography associated with Missouri River valleys and river hills.

The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away.
This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.)
We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like.
We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!).
Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

Located only 50 miles SE of Kansas City, MO! We have woods and pasture with Settle's Ford Wildlife area (fishing and hiking available) 1/4 mile away. Camping is primitive with only an outhouse and no shower facilities. There are MANY thorn trees, so hikers must have proper footwear. Fire ring, wood and a grate for cooking are provided. Livestock encounters are also available with owners in attendance. All proceeds are put back in the farm to care for the animals and the land. Parking area is at the end of the driveway and a cart is provided to take your gear across the bridge. We love kids and will provide lawn darts or any other games we have available if requested. Had a great time at the Sir Quincey yurt! Susan was very kind and supplied us with fire wood, cooking supplies, good water and other camping treats. The horses pigs, cats and goats were roaming around the meadow area and came to say hi to our camp, they are either shy or friendly. I braided a mane. This camp is within a half hour of awesome hiking tails, Meremec river/cavern and other cool caves.

We loved staying at the funky bunkhouse at Milo Farm. The amenities were exactly as advertised. Our kids loved the animals, they even named one of the donkeys ka donk a donk a donk. I loved having a bed to sleep in and a roof for the one rainy night. We all loved the trails and interesting things to see on the land. We definitely want to come back.

My children and I greatly enjoyed our time at Milo Farm. Everyone was kind and friendly. My children enjoyed exploring the trails, though we must return to see them all, and the Hobbit Hut was the perfect amount of whimsy we needed! Whether playing in the rain, cooking our meals on the bonfire, or naming frogs by the pond...everything felt otherworldly. It was three days of peaceful, healing energy. The animals were such a pleasure to see, the library is truly a gem, and the art studio was an immediate hit with the kids. Would highly recommend and already looking at dates for a future visit.

This campsite was clean, private, and absolutely wonderful! The fire pit was very large, which made for a great experience, and I really appreciated the cooking tools available since we forgot one of ours. The view of the moon at night was beautiful and added such a peaceful touch.
My dog even got to make friends with a horse, which was such a special moment, and all of the animals were delightful. Randy was very friendly, and generous with his space.

If you’re looking for peace, privacy, and that “get away from everything” feeling, this is it. Felt like I had my own little slice of the world out there—quiet, still, and exactly what I needed to reset. One of those spots where you wake up, take a breath, and just kinda smile for no reason.
Everything was dialed in without trying too hard. Just simple, real, and done right.

Im hesitant to write this review because im afraid our spot will be discovered! Randy met us when we got there and gave a brief history of the farm, directed us to our site and other than that we really didnt see or hear anyone. They supply firewood for a HUGE fireplace, there is a cabinet with essentials, randy was quick to respond the 2 times I reached out, 1 for a bucket for water (its well water and literally the best water ive ever had) and another bc i burned up a ton of wood and thought we might need more. There's a creek that runs through the property that would be awesome in the summer, and they have horses, turkeys, and chickens that we saw. The only thing I would consider a 'negative' is youre in nature and they dont nuke it with pesticides and the ticks were horrible. It was a warm weekend in March and the ticks were out in full force and we all eneded up with a couple despite bug spray. We did go the following weekend, I treated our pants, sweatshirt cuffs, socks and tent with Sawyers before we went and im not sure if it was cooler temps or the spray but we did not see any!

Weekend Trip to Milo Farm Sacred Land
The Hobbit Hut is a quaint and charming little cabin decorated with mushrooms and gnomes. It has what you need for a quite away from everything trip. The people that are around are friendly along with the animals. The trails in the forest allow you to come back to nature and just relax. It was truly a great trip to disconnect and recharge.

Everything went well!! It was our second visit and our first time of the season this year. We had problems getting our electric working right and they helped us figure that out. Then, they noticed our water was leaking a lot where we had it hooked up so they helped us fix that which made our water inside the camper flow better than it ever has. We also went horseback riding. It was a super fun time. Our horses were great and our guide, Jonathan, the owner, was awesome! Had a great time talking with him. Everyone tha we talked to was super nice! We will definitely be back!

We just spent a fantastic weekend at Sinking Creek Ranch, and it was the perfect family getaway. We stayed in the Maple Haven yurt, and it was impressively spacious for the four of us.
One of the best parts was the "glamping" convenience—walking into a tent with the beds already made and ready to go was such a luxury. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the portable AC/heat unit did a great job keeping us cozy during the chilly nights and cool during the warmer days. Having a fridge, microwave, and Keurig right inside made the mornings so much easier with kids.
The vibe here is pure quiet seclusion. Our two young boys had a blast playing in the creek (which was about ankle-deep near the bathhouse and knee-deep a bit further down), which gave my wife and me some much-appreciated quality time together.
The hosts truly went above and beyond. They were extremely helpful, even lending me a tool I’d forgotten at home so I could remove my car's luggage carrier. Their local recommendations were spot on—they pointed us toward a great fishing hole and a perfect swimming spot just 10 minutes down the road.
The absolute highlight: The first night under the stars. The sky is incredibly dark out there, and seeing that many stars reminded me of growing up in the country. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-equipped escape, this is it. We can’t wait to come back!

Doug was quick to reply and readily on hand for anything. The property is well maintained and beautiful. The horses are lovely. We had a hiccup with our four year old and had to leave early. They were very communicative and friendly and made the trip worth it.
