Escape to 43 acres of rolling pasture and open fields, complete with two peaceful ponds and wide-open skies. Relax in a hammock beneath the trees, roast s’mores over a campfire, fish in the pond, or simply enjoy a quiet walk through nature. You may even see some cows, sheep, or horses grazing nearby. This secluded retreat is accessed via a one-mile gravel road that leads to a private dirt lane. Across the road lies our 300-acre working farm, where livestock and guardian dogs typically roam and graze.Nestled beside a shaded pond near the back of the property, the cabin offers beautiful views of the water, pastures, and surrounding cropland. It’s a peaceful and private spot—perfect for unplugging and unwinding. The cabin features a queen-size bed, a large comfortable couch, and modern comforts including heating, air conditioning, and basic amenities. From your porch or hammock, you might see deer crossing the fields or turtles laying eggs near the pond. Occasionally, you may also encounter a friendly house dog or livestock guardian dog passing through. This truly is one of the most serene places to relax, reconnect, and recharge.

Campfires allowed

Firewood provided, firepit. If you plan to cook over the fire, please plan to bring everything you need for that. While we do try to have some items in the cabin, we do not have everything you will need. You should bring your own cast iron skillet or dutch oven, fireproof gloves, cutting board, knife, mixing bowl, etc.

Toilet available

There is an outhouse near the cabin. Also there is an old farmhouse across the lane where you will have access to a full bathroom; indoor plumbing, shower, hot water, etc. This bathroom was refurbished in 2025. The old farmhouse does not have any occupants so it can be used anytime without bothering anyone.

Hot water , cold water only. However, the shower is located in the old farmhouse across the lane.

Inside the cabin you will have a microwave, Keurig (we recognize the importance of coffee!), and small fridge/freezer.

The Little Red Cabin

Beautiful site - the little red cabin is extremely comfortable including air conditioning! Mandy, who works on the farm, welcomed me and gave a tour. I settled in and Dan popped by - learned so much about the history of the farm. I had a fire (thanks again to Dan) and a beautiful walk. The highlight for me was all the fireflies twinkling after dark. I highly recommend and will return!

The Little Red Cabin

The cabin is so cute and cosy! Dan and Betsy were wonderful host! The ponds have good fishing! We saw some wildlife, muskrats, turtles, Dan showed us around the farm! Loved Daisy Mae, one of the sheep hearding dogs! Lots of hickory nut trees!! Stars were bueatiful. Plan on going back! Thank you Dan and Betsy!

Amazing Little Gem!

The Little Red Cabin

What a beautiful experience! My husband and I had the perfect getaway at the little red cabin. Betsy and Dan were awesome hosts and made sure we had such a good time. Waking up to views of the sunrise over the pond and sheep in the nearby field was magic. We cooked all of our meals over the campfire and stargazed at night. I asked about animals and Dan was kind enough to take us on a tour of the farm! What a cool experience. We also made sure to stop in town on our way out to grab some of their meat at the Trading Co. to take home. Can’t beat the price or quality! Don’t miss that awesome shop with all kinds of local treats! We took advantage of the coffee and popcorn provided and the cozy blankets for the campfire at night. We love camping but also love having heat and a cozy bed to sleep in. This was the perfect middle ground. Make sure you bring all of your cooking and cleaning items if you plan to make meals there. There were disposable cups, plates, utensils, etc. provided. The PERFECT place to relax and recharge. We can’t wait to visit again!

The Little Red Cabin

From the second that I arrived Dan and Betsy were the absolute best hosts anyone could ask for. The cabin offered a quiet and cozy experience along with an amazing outdoor experience. Stunning views mixed with a calming atmosphere made an incredible stay. Not only was this experience delightful because of the distance into the country, it was amazing because it is a fully functional farm. Dan was able to give me a complete tour of the farm which included : horses, sheep, pigs and cows. He has a world class facility and the best part is he let me purchase %100 grass fed lamb and beef. Overall the stay was absolutely fantastic and I will continue to come back to learn more about where my food is grown and made and find a calming stay where I know I can connect with nature!
