We purchased the property in 2003 in order to escape the city life and be closer to nature. Over the years we have developed our sustainable farm, raising grass-fed cattle, chickens, and various other animals over the years. We also breed Bernese Mountain Dogs, so you'll see some of our pack wandering the property. We work hard to maintain practices that heal the land and preserve it for the future. No chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, pesticides or herbicides are used here. We raised our four children here and have made many memories together as we learned to farm, build and enjoy our land. We continue to create and build towards a long-term vision, creating a haven for artisans with self-sufficient living in mind.
Welcome to our inviting custom built cottage. It is located on our property, approximately 300' from on our home on our 55 acre land plot, located 10 minutes outside of St. Joseph, MN. We are very near St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict. Hiking trails located on our property as well as nearby County parks and St. John's University. We are 6 miles from the Wobegon Trail (76 miles long) which is great for biking, roller blading, walking and running.
Come explore Creekwood Acres which is host to a great deal of wild life as well as sustainably raised animals with a process we call rejuvenative farming. Wander through the woods and listen to the birds, watch monarch butterflies, our cattle and hear the, frogs, crickets and occasionally distant coyotes. The Watab Creek runs through the property which consists of fields, forest and a pond.
Our cozy cottage was built by our family using lumber sawn on our property. There are two double beds up in the loft accessible by ladder and one queen size sofa sleeper (very comfortable!) on the main level . A wood burning stove keeps the cottage cozy in cooler weather. There is a bathroom with flushing toilet and shower. Electricity keeps the cottage aglow and runs a refrigerator, microwave, sound system and fans. Also available for your convenience, an apartment size range and kitchen sink.
Enjoy a fire in a private fire ring near the cottage. Firewood available for purchase (for exterior fire ring). Enjoy a wood-fired sauna upon request. The sauna has been known to get quite hot!

The more we host, the more we understand that some people just want to be left to enjoy a quiet weekend while others love to engage and develop a connection. Great quiet relaxing location, with wildlife and the sound of the country. You will have the only camp site on the property. You can stay in the small camping cabin in comfort with your own bedding, or bring a sleeping bag. We have the twin bed in the loft, or use the futon on the main level. The cabin only has room for two adults unless you bring a camp pad to sleep on the floor, or squeeze in a child, but you have the comforts of an A/C , a Weber grill, mini fridge, microwave, and Electricity. Quiet former country farm site, with great wildlife viewing options with walking trails. Only 23 miles to DT St. Cloud and 7 Miles to the Walmart in Princeton for food or supplies. If a shower is desired the Kwik Trip in St Cloud, on Hwy 10 has showers. Just a half mile off Hwy 95 and 5 miles from the large Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge, with trails and lots of wildlife. In the Fall expect to see a large amount of wildlife with many migrating birds come out of the refuge to feed. Expect to hear Pheasant's cackle in the AM, and see Sandhill Cranes and Geese fly over the camp site, or sitting in area fields. Enjoy time around a campfire with folding chairs and a picknick table, with plenty of free dry firewood in a storage rack.

R&R Mille Lacs offers a private channel lake lot on beautiful Mille Lacs! The site will have a pull through driveway with 2 RV spots with electricity and water on a gravel pad. The gravel drive through is big enough for 1 more RV but there are no hookups. $60 per RV per night. (So if your group brings 3 RVs it totals to $180.00 per night. Tents are also allowed. There is one dump station as you pull out.
The site also has a private dock to put your boat or other water toys on. With just a short boat ride through the channel you can be out fishing on the mighty Mille Lacs in minutes. There are no waves to worry about in the channel so just tying up to the dock is nice and easy. With the calm waters it is a great place to use your kayak or paddle board, or just some fishing off the dock. There will be a four person paddle boat available for guests, you must bring your own lifejackets for any water activities. There are also atv or mountain bike trails just feet away from the site. There is a fire pit on site with free split firewood.
We are located 5 minutes south of Garrison, and 5 minutes north of Grand Casino Mille Lacs, and right across the road from Northwood Hills golf course with Charlie’s Bar & Grill.
To launch your boat there are public water accesses to the north and south.

Carved out over 12,000 years ago by the Iowa glacial lobe, this land rests within the easternmost wintering area of the North American buffalo herd. This is a rare and untouched native prairie site near known Indigenous artifacts.
It is also just 25 minutes from world-class healthcare facilities and shopping in Alexandria, MN, or just 9 minutes from Osakis, MN. Head of the Lakes Resort, known for its generous portions of French fries, is also just a short drive away.
Walk to the nearest access point on the Long Prairie River, or travel just a couple of miles down Fairfield Drive—also a scenic walk—to Lake Osakis, one of the most heavily stocked walleye lakes in Minnesota. Battle Point also offers a nearby fishing pier.

The host went way beyond to make our stayenjoyable and memorable.
Some reviews said the site was to close to the home. But really it was really no closer than another camper at most camping grounds. We barely saw the owners unless they were asking if we needed more wood or anything else. I admit I was a little nervous at first, but I would and will stay here again.

Weekend Trip to The little cabin
The Little Cabin was a sweet and private tiny space in a private area with lots of wooded paths around to explore. My senior dog, Sven, was as happy as can be wandering the paths and sleeping cozily on the floor of the cabin. This is a very tiny space; in my case, just right for the two of us. It was incredibly quiet over the weekend; I saw only one car on the gravel road out front, and the air was filled with wonderful bird, cricket, and frog sounds. The property was very private and I actually heard nor saw any humans at all, which I very much appreciated. I will be very excited to return again soon!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Kimberly’s Hipcamp spot. It was peaceful with a beautiful view across a meadow and farmland. There was plenty of shade too. Overall, a nice place to come back to after spending the day hiking. Kimberly was very responsive to any of our questions.

My family and I really enjoyed our time at their place. Incredibly welcoming people who are willing to share their property. They had a lot of amenities that we didn't even get to use since we were meeting up with family that was staying at a separate location most of the time we were there. They also gave us plenty of tips on local activities for the area. We definitely plan to stay again the next time we make it up to Alexandria.
