Great family camping spot!
Great private site on a working farm. This is the perfect spot to bring little ones so they can experience farm life.

Wonderful Bucolic Setting
The Rasset Family Farm is a real working farm! Guests are treated to the jangle of cow bells, the puttering of tractors, and to the hospitality of those who make this nation such a wonderful place. I was blessed to stay there.

Oasis from the city!
Sarah was very accommodating and helpful! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay. Very kid friendly place, but quiet and peaceful too! This will be our place to stay if and when we ever head east again!

Very cool camping experience
Even though the weather was hot, we had a very enjoyable time camping on the host's farm. We had a variety of options for our activities. Our young teens had their biggest exposure to farm life and they thought it was very cool. Sarah was very patient answering all of our questions and was very gracious allowing us to see the daily aspects of their daily life. Our campsite was very peaceful and we felt like we had a lot of space. We had some great sky views, seeing huge clouds we don't always see in the Cities. The birds were pretty active and we liked watching the fast-moving swallows. In the day time, we drove to the local lake's beach (less than 10 minutes away). We also visited Lake Maria State Park, which was a quick 10 minutes. All in all, we felt like we got a lot into our two days there. We are already talking about returning to the farm.

Absolutely wonderful!
Absolutely wonderful! Sarah and family were so kind and welcoming. Our favorite Hipcamp while driving cross country and thankful for the opportunity to park on a peaceful, country farm!

Beautiful farm. We stayed right next to the barn with the chickens and the cows as our neighbors. Sarah and her family were great hosts. Note: there is no bathroom available.

Rasset Family Farm
What a delightful weekend! Sarah is a warm, welcoming host. She patiently allowed our city-kid grandchildren to follow her around as she went about her daily chores; they learned to feed the calves, how to carefully approach the grown cows, and helped herd the chickens/roosters/baby chicks into the coop for the night. The lull of mooing was a reminder to me of life on my grandparents farm so many years ago. The Rasset Farm has a big open yard for tossing frisbees, and they spent hours running gleefully running about. They had gathered firewood in advance for us to have a bonfire, too. We look forward to visiting again next year.

Quiet spot to park
We stayed at the farm 4 nights, very quiet spot. There is a concrete spot we were able to park so leveling our large camper was no issue! We rode bikes on the gravel road, and everyone we met was very friendly. Great rural spot, but only 10 minutes away from Monticello.

Sarah was very accommodating to our last minute reservation. The site was next to the barn-flat and quiet. Electricity was available which we did not need.

Quiet setting, accommodating host
Sarah was incredibly accommodating of us on very short notice: we needed a place to plug in for the evening on our first cross country RV adventure--in Minnesota in March! When our anticipated campground was unexpectedly closed, Sarah approved our stay with just a few hours notice. The gravel drive is hilly but circular, and we had a flat place by the barn to park our 24 ft. RV. Very peaceful setting, only about 10 miles off the main highway. We didn't say long, but we enjoyed a beautiful sunrise at our departure!
