Enjoy 10 acres shared between 2 sites! The two campsites are large and can accommodate approximately 6 tents comfortably at each. If more is needed let us know we have room and can accommodate. There is a shared bathroom/changing room and trash/recycling between the sites. There is a water point in the barn if you need to fill up on drinking water just make sure you have a container for it. Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from lake george and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! We are very pet friendly and like to meet new furry faces, so feel free to bring them along!

You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Private 3/4 bath and comfortable TV room is 60 steps away in the house. Mostly private spaces with some shared spaces such as driveway, hallways, sometimes we cross paths in the yard. Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Downs, renaissance fest, Valleyfair, & many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's. The basic price of $80 per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the  cottage,  but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night.  A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking), and sign a property liability waiver upon check in.   The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking.  Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure. We have 43 beautiful acres currently home to four heifers, three donkeys , two lovable lambs, three precocious pigs, and dozens of cheerful chickens. You can choose to camp next to the animals or out in the field for lovely stargazing at night. We do daily chores each morning and evening, and you are welcome to tag along and help, if you wish. We share a small pond with our neighbors and are less than 3 miles from South Center Lake, where you can put in your kayaks. Other local attractions include Franconia Art Park, Downtown Lindstrom, quaint Osceola, WI, Taylor's Falls and more. There is an apple orchard 2 miles away with u pick strawberries in spring and apples in the fall.

Dedicated private space is in lower level backyard with access to dock* (*May -September), lake and wildlife wetlands with boardwalk. You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Private 3/4 bath and comfortable TV room is 60 steps away in the house. Mostly private spaces with some shared spaces such as driveway, hallways, sometimes we cross paths in the yard. Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Downs, renaissance fest, Valleyfair, & many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's. The basic price of $80 per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the  cottage,  but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night.  A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking), and sign a property liability waiver upon check in.   The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking.  Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure. This was exactly what I was looking for. The property (and expected experience) is accurately described. The property, including the cottage/camping area is bordered by trees and brush on two sides and the lake (with a dense growth of cattails) on the third. Even though cottage/camping area is technically a spacious "backyard" I did feel like I was camping. The "cottage" is pretty much the size of an Expedition tent. I stayed for five nights. I precooked my meals and home intending to heat them over the fire but ended using the microwave instead. For this time year (late October) this is good option. If the weather gets nasty (too cold or even snow) the "cottage" is a wonderful backup.

Dan greeted us warmly and offered our children the chance to pick an apple from his tree. His farm is gorgeous with vibrant sunsets and a quiet breeze through the grasses. We were very comfortable in the spacious tent and made a cozy bonfire both nights. We highly recommend staying here!

We camped right next to the sheep and cows and my kids LOVED the experience. Christine and Jamie were incredibly warm and welcoming, inviting us to join them in farm chores. I loved camping in Dan's yurt campsite! The walk from the car is perfect, just long enough to feel like you are really out there camping! The views walking to the bathroom in the fall were just gorgeous! Speaking of the bathroom don't be scared off by the composting toilet. Dan provides plenty of woodchips/sawdust to cover everything up and there is no odor! The bbq grill and bonfire ring are great to have options. The picnic table seats plenty of people. It rained a bit while we were there and everything in the tent stayed dry thanks to the extra plastic Dan has placed over the top of the yurt. Dan is so kind and generous and feels like going over to a friend's house to camp. Can't wait to return next year!

Tent camped on site one and it was lovely! We got in pretty late so we didn’t get to enjoy the nice fire pit as we were just setting up to sleep. Got up in the AM and took a short walk to see the pretty horses, chicken, and turkeys. The turkeys have pretty big personalities! 10/10

Dan is a wonderful host and owns some absolutely gorgeous land. I will be back! Be prepared for a small but beautiful hike out to your camp site. Bathrooms are as good as it gets, tents are huge and the bonus of not needing to setup is amazing, and the access to one of the most beautiful state parks is uncanny. If you have the legs for it I would absolutely recommend touring this area on bike. The descent into Taylor’s falls is one of the best in the state, the climb out of the city will have your legs woken up, and the nearby Swedish Immigrant Trail is beautiful especially in the Fall.

We had a fun time at the Shady Hideaway site! My husband and I, unfortunately, had a rainstorm roll in the first day of our weekend trip, but we still had a lovely time just relaxing in the tent and listening to the rain. The site is very private and a great location to relax and enjoy a weekend out of the cities. We also got to see some super cute goats down the path!
