Spend some cozy downtime enjoying a fire and the peacefulness of 4 acre lake property. Take a hot shower and sleep in a comfortable bed- all for less than a hotel room! It’s like glamping. **We do require a photo of a valid government ID from all members of your party, immediately after booking. The host will tell you how to send this. If not received within the specified time frame, your booking will be cancelled and you will not receive check in information. This property: Cozy lakeside cottage that sleeps two, with level lawn space nearby that will fit two additional tents in your group. Dedicated private space is in lower level backyard with access to dock* (*May -September), lake and wildlife wetlands with boardwalk. You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Your private bath and a shared, comfortable TV room is inside house. Your Cottage guest room is a private space. Mystic Lake Casino and Amphitheater, Canterbury Downs, Renaissance Fest, Valley Fair, many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's. The price per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the cottage, but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night. A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking). The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking. Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure. We are a non smoking, non vape, no party/no unregistered guest, owner occupied property. No children and quiet people only. Please note you will be walking outside up and down an outdoor staircase / small hill to access restroom &;parking .Currently, only accepting stays of 2-28 days . The minimum age of campers allowed to book here is 23 and if you are bringing your children with you, they must be 18 plus and also must sign all waivers and provide their ID's.   This is a great place for a small, quiet gathering of your group with a private, clean bathroom and a lakefront location on a small acreage.  However, it is for quiet getaways only, and is an owner occupied and monitored property.  Please ask host if you have any accessibility questions. If you have any questions regarding this listing, feel free to message the host before booking.  * The dock is removed towards the end of September every year. The lake can still be accessed until the end of October, there will just be no dock.l

Campfires allowed
Firewood provided, firepit, private. Please only build a fire in the dedicated fire pit in the center of the paver patio, and do not burn the poker sticks! LOL. Free unlimited firewood, but please be somewhat judicious, and quiet hours start at 10 PM. Cleaning up after yourself and banking your fire or letting it burn down before abandoning it is required. NO FIRES IN BONFIRE PIT. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IF YOU BUILD A FIRE IN THE BONFIRE PIT.
Toilet available
Flush toilet, portable toilet. The toilet in is the house and is a regular flush toilet. Please note we are a rural property and are on SEPTIC, which for you city folk means we have to "baby" our pipes somewhat, especially with the wear & tear they get with our guesting. PLEASE no paper or other items in the toilet except for regular toilet paper. Any items in the toilet that result in a plumbers call will result in a claim to hipcamp and YOU and we don't want that unpleasantness. Please put any kinds of wipes, feminine products, paper towels, or tissues in the trash provided RIGHT next to the toilet. Please courtesy flush to keep the toilet from having to handle EXCESS toilet paper or matter. Otherwise, with normal use we are good to go :)
No pets
We have two small dogs of our own, and do rescue making the animal count of our own three at times. We keep our dogs upstairs and in the front yard as to not interfere with our guests and hosting. But with this many pets of our own, it makes our property not suitable for any other pets.
Potable water available
Spigot, tap, hose, pump or well. Ask host for limited filtered water, or fill unlimited directly from tested clean & safe well water.
Showers available
Hot water . Regular clean shower with towels, shampoo, and body wash.
Bins available
Recycling bin, trash bin. We can handle a reasonable amount of trash. Please recycle. We are required by ordinance to separate and clean recyclables. There is a hose provided to rinse, and a bin provided to separate from trash. It's up by the house, or if its trash day, it's down at the end of the driveway. Please place your trash and recyclables in the bins directly. NO plastic bags in the recycling bin. Just dump clean recyclables directly in there. Clean plastic bags can be placed together on top of your trash and the host will recycle them. Excess trash or excess clean up will result in a charge for excess work. Please be considerate.

If you would like to use the large grill on the deck, it should not be a problem, but please ask or make arrangements ahead of time. Please don't forget to turn it off. I also have a small grill that can be rented, along with a lot of other camping equipment. Most items are $5 per day.

This was exactly what I was looking for. The property (and expected experience) is accurately described. The property, including the cottage/camping area is bordered by trees and brush on two sides and the lake (with a dense growth of cattails) on the third. Even though cottage/camping area is technically a spacious "backyard" I did feel like I was camping. The "cottage" is pretty much the size of an Expedition tent. I stayed for five nights. I precooked my meals and home intending to heat them over the fire but ended using the microwave instead. For this time year (late October) this is good option. If the weather gets nasty (too cold or even snow) the "cottage" is a wonderful backup.

Cozy Cottage is quaint and very private. It's essentially a little cabin is a spacious backyard with private boardwalk access to the lake. The cabin was clean and had thoughtful touches to make the stay more enjoyable like a window A/C and portable space heater. There was a ceiling fan as well, and with the screened windows, made for a cozy evening. The bed is very, very soft. The access to the private, modern full bath was a quick minute walk from the cabin. If you want a campfire there's practically unlimited fire wood. We enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet getaway we hoped for.

Great Little Staycation Home.

Lisa was very warm and welcoming. The cottage was cozy, quiet and peaceful. I stayed a few days and loved waking up in the comfortable bed, sunrise and beautiful sounds of nature (without being completely in nature). Tips: Take the time to read the instructions. She has thought it all through. And if there is something not considered she was very accommodating. The fridge is small but I made a stop at Trader Joes and purchased some small snacks; fruits and veggies, including 3 little frozen meals and they all fit. This little cottage will be a regular in my local getaways.

The Cozy Lakeside Cottage is a gem. My fiance and I had a great time staying there. We enjoyed the quite, the fishing nearby, the night time sky. Lisa is a great host, and responds promptly should you have any questions. The amenities provided are above and beyond. This place is like out of a story book. Will be visiting the cottage "aka" gem, again. The Whiskey Inferno is a great place to dine, if looking for some great food. Thanks Lisa

Incredible a weekend to remember.

Incredible hosts, from the reservation to the end. We were looking for a nice quiet place to get away nearby for our 19th anniversary, we were greeted with a bottle of my favorite wine, cup cakes and anniversary candles. The host was helpful, answered all the questions, went above and beyond to make our stay special, they were friendly and welcoming, gave us the privacy we wanted and yet made us feel welcomed and invited. The property is absolutely beautiful, clean, decoration is amazing, the lake is quiet, neighbors are friendly as well and the dogs are adorable ❤️ We will go back and recommend 100%. Thank you for making our anniversary memorable and special.
