It is centrally located between Grand Rapids and Cadillac. We offer river access, kayaking, bathrooms, showers, and a dump station. This is an old church camp with 14 different buildings. Our small place is a forested Tree house in a Michigan wooded neighborhood on Croton Pond with a spot for a small camper, plenty of tent space, has a private drive, camp style privacy toilet, waterfront access across the road (185 steps to the water front and small beach) and sleeps 3. We have a paddleboard that our renters can use and the lake is so peaceful in the morning. The Treehouse has a power cord for electricity and a table fan but no AC. Please bring your own bedding. There is one full mattress in loft and a twin futon. Our special place is only 2 miles to the Dragon Trail which is a well known biking and hiking trail, the trail is about 50 miles around our beautiful lake and is a very stunning adventure! We are about 15 minutes away from a downtown that has bars, playgrounds, restaurants, and grocery stores. There is a great organic, hippy vibe breakfast spot nearby called Hit the Road Joes. They also have wood fired pizzas on Saturday evenings.
Another good, old school breakfast spot is Diner between the Dams.
The Pine Cone has a great ice cream selection and large menu of concession type food: hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fries, nachos, etc.
The Driftwood bar and restaurant on our lake (Croton Pond) has live music on the Saturdays and Sundays.

We had a great time here - Cathy was very welcoming and took time to give us a tour of the cabin, making sure we knew everything we needed to be comfortable. The cabin itself was very comfortable, and the location was isolated and peaceful but still not too far from town when we needed something. Sitting by the fire pit at night was lovely. We hope to make it back again!

We use Hipcamp for privacy and less people. It was everything I could’ve asked for.
She met us upon arrival, which was personable. She also showed us the restroom area and gave us a packet of places to visit in the area!
FREE firewood is provided! This is a game changer!!
And she’s not rushing to kick you out for checkout either which keeps the vacation going even though we had to go home :(.

We loved our stay at Whispering Waters. The site is beautiful, clean and spacious. River access was great, although you need to be in somewhat decent shape to get in and out of of the water due to current and rocks. It was no issue for us!

We loved this Hipcamp! Sarah was such a wonderful host with a beautiful property. It is its own slice of paradise. The sites were located right on the Muskegon River. You cant beat having a camp fire right off the river. There is a cool abandoned railroad bridge you can explore and jump off of if you are daring enough. We were able to drop in our kayaks up river and float right down to our camp. There is an outhouse and she has wood you can buy so you don't have to drive anywhere! I would recommend this to anyone trying to get away and relax in nature.

A-1 place to camp! Excellent stay for the week. Flat campsites with plenty of space to spread out, but enough trees for shade. Private, but close to the (incredibly clean) flush toilet and running water. Laurie was welcoming and generous, making us feel right at home.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! It’s beautifully built and everything was well stocked and maintained. Cathy was very hospitable and the pie was incredible. We loved cooking dinners over the fire and walking all the trails. We saw chipmunks, a baby deer, lots of birds, and a fox. Definitely recommend this place!
