Come stay in our fully equipped glamping tents (2 tents, sleeping 6–8 comfortably) on our little homestead, just a 5-minute drive from Lake Michigan and the charming beach towns of Montague and Whitehall. We’re also close to incredible biking and hiking trails. Pack your camp gear and your clubs—Old Channel Golf Course, a 27-hole gem, is just down the road. We provide the tents, Japanese floor beds, fitted sheets, pillows, and twinkle lights. Guests also have access to our home to shower and use the guest restroom, fully stocked with towels and toiletries by Fox Naturals. Laundry facilities are available if needed. Your site includes a fire pit, perfect for evenings under the stars. Stargazing here is truly 10/10, with little light pollution—we often see the Milky Way! You’re also welcome to explore our 5 acres of woods right outside your tent. Electric hookups are available, and guests are encouraged to enjoy our garden and produce stand. Pet-friendly (dogs must remain on leash for their safety, as the property is not fenced).

Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. On the farm is a 20 acre lake with a floating island, tent sites, and healthy ecosystems with plenty of wildlife. Our farm pastures pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry, investing in our dirt and our neighbors. We are provision family farms because we provide for our animals even as we are provided for. Drop on in at the house and we may have time for a little tour.In the woods is a small composting toilet, but you're welcome to fertilize our pastures anytime. There's also a shower available in the house. The best time to visit Michigan forests is in October when the leaves turn color and the nights are cool. The mosquitoes are done for the winter and the air is brisk.

Your Hosts - Dan and Arlene Cool: “We served as missionaries in South America for over 20 years. Our first assignment was in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, primarily at a school for missionary children, teaching Bible classes (Dan) and helping to start up and run a hot lunch program (Arlene). After this we ministered in Paraguay for 10 years. Our final years of missionary service were in Chile where we founded a missionary training school to train Chilean missionaries. Latin American students that we helped train are now serving around the world bringing hope and the Gospel to needy people. Harvest Village helps to support the ministries of our former students. We are excited to enter this new stage of our lives and to share our family’s centennial farm with people interested in healthier living and farm vacationing.”Your stay at Harvest Village helps bring hope to the hopeless; We set aside $1 /per guest, per night, to help our former students who are serving as missionaries in some of the neediest places around the world.

It is your very own exclusive home away from home.   Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and surrounded by natural wetlands. So, we are a perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy fresh air and picture perfect sunsets. Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few things to be enjoyed on the water. There's a public boat launch just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou Park has a kayak specific boat launch. Or, you can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore. Still, they’ll no doubt thrive on the intoxicating beauty of the place while they’re here. Covering 250+ acres on the Hardy Dam Pond, the park is ideal for viewing colors in autumn and catching glimpses of the beautiful Muskegon river on your way to hiking and biking in the surrounding area.
