Weekend Trip to CLOUD NINE VICTORIAN FARM

From the moment we pulled in we were greeted with warm open arms by Tam and her lovely, well trained dog named Willow. The property is vibrant and you can tell a lot of love and intention is put into it. There is a massive pine tree with chairs and lights that is the perfect place to unwind both during the day and at night. Tam went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even started the fire where we cooked our dinner using her homegrown herbs and garlic. We left our experience knowing that we will certainly be back again! Looking forward to having more conversations and connection with you, Tam! Thank you a million 💛

Mulehalla was great. We camped there the night before heading out on a bikepacking trip on the C&O. The campsite and the campground facilities were very well kept. The host was very responsive and was gracious enough to let us park a vehicle on-site why we bikepacked. The campground was about 1/5 mile from the trail. Overall, it was a great experience--thanks!

3 nights at Shelly's Woods

Shelleys Woods is an absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and special creek side lot. We spent so much time sitting in the creekside swing, watching the mallard ducks and Canadian geese on the water. Daniel is such a great host. He checked on us through text to make sure all was well at the site. He supplied a large amount of firewood. There is no set charge for the firewood. He only asked that you pay what you feel it's worth. The camp site is very large with large shade trees every where. The pavilion is lovely. We spent time there sitting at one of the numerous tables during a rain storm.. we did not use the Porta potty. But it appeared tidy.. we had a great time. THANKS to Daniel.

1 night at Sistermoon Farm

Great, cozy tent. Very private and aesthetically pleasing. Directions were clear. The site had everything one would need, campsite, chairs, implements for cooking and cleaning, bathrooms, enough bedding to keep you warm on a cool night, etc. I slept like a baby, but my husband who is a light sleeper was pleasantly surprised by the earplugs left for us that helped with a distant train and howling dogs. =) this place was great, I would definitely recommend...but, be advised, if you're not cool with spiders you may want to consider a different place. There's a ton. Harmless spiders, but spiders nonetheless...nbd, but thought I'd mention it.

We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely love to return in the future! Clear instructions and signs made finding our spot easy. Had probably the cleanest porta potty experience of my life. Campsite felt private with minimal bugs and LOTS of beautiful morning bird noises. The lands are definitely sacred and would highly recommend to any fellow lightworker or person in need of some nature healing 💖🌿

This is an idyllic spot to camp and Cara provides everything you could need! The fairy lights were so cute and a great touch. It even poured and stormed while we were here, but we were dry and cozy all night under the roofed platform. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We had such a great time at Ellie’s Favorite! The camp site was a great size for 4 of us and a dog. There were a few other people at the other sites but we were far enough away that we couldn’t see or hear them the entire trip unless we walked by! We will definitely be back!

This tent spot was perfect. Nestled on a peaceful, eco-conscious herb farm, it felt like stepping into another world; one where time slows down, the air smells like lavender and mint, and the night sky actually glows with stars. The campsite itself was simple but perfect: flat, well-maintained ground for our tent, with plenty of shade and privacy. There were thoughtful touches everywhere — a composting toilet that was clean and easy to use, with a rain-fed sanitation station, and a super comfortable and private outdoor shower. It’s clear the hosts care deeply about the land and about creating a gentle footprint. The atmosphere was mellow and welcoming — think wildflowers, herbal gardens, and wind chimes swaying in the breeze. There is a large covered pavilion where I ate my dinner and updated my journal. If you’re looking for a spot with good energy, real connection to nature, and a little off-grid charm, this is it. I'll definitely be back.

1 night at Redemption Springs Farm

Most campers enjoy the unique-things along the way. This place is one of those stops along the way. Ours was an in-and-out, overnight respite from the road. Directions were perfect, always a plus.. too often a surprise. Seth greeted us, as we texted him about 30mins out. Seth and his family run this unique farm 'Redemption Springs'. Google them, as they are doing 'it' old-school. Ya know, when food was genuine ... not corporate farmed. Just know you will meet many new creatures you'd expect. Aiden the Ram (yes, a RAM) was particularly memorable. He greeted us like a welcoming puppy.We purchased some goodies from their store while there. I wish they were local to us.... The site was too easy. We drove in and out, effortlessly. Strongly recommended!!

1 night at The Byrd's Nest on the River

Kara's space is SO beautiful and really exceeded our expectations -- so much so that we booked an extra night! The crows nest was perfect for my partner and I and the communal space down by the river is gorgeous. The string lights, multiple platforms, big fire pit, and sound of the river made us feel so easeful. It's also very conveniently located close to Berkeley Springs and Cacapon State Park. Highly recommend.

this spot has the most spectacular sunset views!!

The host met us at the gate and was very friendly and accommodating. Since the location wasn't full he gave us a choice of whatever site we liked. He stopped over and made sure we had everything very needed and gave us directions to the bike path. We very much enjoyed talking with him and would definitely stay again! Very secluded and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Mother Earth Organic Farm

Our time at Mother Earth's Organic Farm was perfect in so many ways!!! Mehra and Adrian are the warmest, most welcoming, amazing hosts! Their land is so beautiful and we felt privileged to share it with them for a few days. Private. Minimal cell service. Tidy. We fed their goats and saw the neighbor's cows grazing throughout our stay. We encountered some pretty intense weather (rain and wind) the weekend we visited. Mehra and Adrian responded with such care and empathy when the winds destroyed our canopy. Despite that setback, our time there was so restorative. We got lots of sunshine, we stargazed, and we cooked over the campfire. Truly magical! Many thanks to Mehra and Adrian!

This is my second time staying here and I loved it each time! A lot of fun activities to do with a group and/or solo at the site. Kayaking and paddle boarding are available as well as an easy nature hike with lots of nature to enjoy. Portapotties are well kept and stocked with essentials. Very clear view of the stars at night. Greg is very kind and helpful and has made each trip a success. Of course, Corky and Tula are the best cat-hosts as well! Will be back again!

Weekend Trip to Sacred Roots Herbal Sanctuary

We had a wonderful time Sacred Roots. The Cosmic Cottage was adorable and cozy. We appreciated the fire pit and thank the previous occupants for leaving behind the extra wood. Jay was responsive through the Hipcamp app and Hillary was warm and hospitable when we met her in person. We could really feel the love and care that goes into maintaining Sacred Roots and we’re excited to come back as soon and as often as possible.

We are 10 minutes from the Potomac River, 10 minutes from Opequon Creek, 20 from Antietam Creek and 30 minutes from the Shenandoah River. Harper's Ferry is 30 minutes way and downtown Historic Shepherdstown is just down the road. We are also close to several state parks. - What do we mean by "RUSTIC" ? The camping experience we offer is about unplugging from the modern world , getting back to basics, slowing down and re-connecting with the land. Simply put, this is CAMPING .... not glamping. (Our Cosmic Cottage is also rustic, despite the amenities that come with it). - CAMPSITES and TREEHOUSE - No electricity or wifi on the land. Campsites and TREEHOUSE are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees. - SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to. - RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours. Note: For the winter months we are closed, we reopen in march. The furthest we are open at any given moment is about six months. We close when hunting season comes in during the fall. Description of camp: This is not a glampsite! There are limited utilities here. No Drinking water, just water for the fire. There is a self serve firewood store, you may also forage dead wood. Here only one group may camp at a time. The campsite is a big level hilltop clearing surrounded by acres of woods. There is stone driveway that leads to the site that gets you back into the woods. The driveway is wide enough for trucks, trailers, vans, etc. Since the site is up high it gets a great breeze which helps on warm days and gets good cell service. The campsite gets great sun and has shaded areas along the sides that make for good tent pitching. We have had people set up hammocks, tents, tarps, or camp in their vehicle. We provide a privy (outhouse), an outdoor showerroom/changing room, picnic tables, and a metal fire pit with grill rack that you can put in the fire pit if you wish to cook/grill over it. The woods are hilly so biking is not recomended. On the property we have 2+ miles of hiking trails. PLEASE feel free to contact us for any questions. Also please look at our pictures for a better idea of what we offer. Nearby Activities: A short drive from here will take you to Gettysburg, York, or Hanover. Codorus park offers great hiking and is next to a lake. There are many excellent restaurants and brewpubs nearby, including the award winning Warehouse Gourmet Bistro and Brewpub. For more information read our activities section to find out what other things we provide or have nearby that you can do. Pricing: We have a weeknight discount for the site which is 29 dollars (Sunday-Thurdsay nights). Friday night and Saturday night we charge 35 dollars. Any additional guests after five we charge 9.50 dollars per person. We allow up to 10 guests total. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard. Additional things to see: Boating in Carroll County Maryland. Local wineries Ski Liberty Carroll is a full service county whatever your needs. The Bella Lane Farm is located just outside the Village of Waterford in Loudoun County, Virginia. The farm sits on 20 beautiful acres of land lined by mature pine trees and featuring a long pond, stocked with Bass and Blue Gills. In the summer, use the Jon Boats or canoes. In the winter, use the sled and/or cross country skis. Of over 2,000 National Historic Landmarks, Waterford is the only one of its kind". 64% of Waterford's 97 homes were built before 1861. Only four were build after 1922. The village of Waterford is a Loudoun County Historic and Cultural Conservation Site, on the Virginia Historic Landmarks Registerleave site, on the National Register of Historic Placesleave site, and in 1970, the entire village, with the farmland surrounding it, was designated a National Historic Landmark Districtleave site, one of only three such landmarks in the entire United States.
