There are 2 centrally located bathhouses with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We are constantly improving our land and are expanding our horse boarding as we do so. Close to Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace , Mcdougal Lake and the main square in Hodgenville which has cute little restaurants and places to walk During summer there are lots of wild blackberries to pick on the perimeter of the pasture (this is usually June-July only). We are bordered on woods so camping can be done in the trees as well or in our nice open area right as soon as you come up the drive. Outside our barn/house we have water and electric outlets as needed. In the open area or the woods there are several trees that can be used for a hammock as well. We do have a large fire pit near our house and a ton of wood fires can be started as long as we are not under a burn ban if we are having a dry summer or fall. In our camping field we have a smaller black fire pit for use . The pastures are set back from the woods so feel free to walk the perimeter of them. We are a working cattle farm on 33 acres with rolling pastures and peaceful wooded areas to enjoy. Hike down to Wilson Creek to search for geodes and explore the woods. Sit a spell by the creek side fire pit. Try fishing, swimming and boating at Barren River Lake, just a short drive from the property. Mammoth Cave, Kentucky Down Under and the Corvette Museum are all within 30 min. With two RV sites we can accommodate rigs up to 45' and provide 20/30/50 amp service, water and have full sewer hookups. Needing tent space as well? Enjoy the lovely setting of this A Frame that is sitting on a bluff overlooking a creek through the trees. Behind the A Frame is an open meadow up top with a firepower area and also the shower house/washroom. From the parking area, you can walk up a trail to get up to the cabin; or if you have more of an off road vehicle you may drive up top and around to the back side of it. On quiet evenings, hear the sound of the creek down below and listen to the woodland sounds!

2 nights at The Harrican Lakehouse

This cabin won me over the moment I walked in. It was warm, cozy, and the loft was surprisingly spacious. The porch is the real showstopper, and even though it was too cold to sit out for long, the views from every window were gorgeous. It even started snowing while we were there, which added this wild, magical atmosphere to the whole stay. The only downsides were the not-so-comfy seating, the heat being a little too powerful overnight, and the outhouse being a long chilly walk with a very rustic setup. None of it ruined the experience, but it is worth knowing before you go. Leslie loved the lake and all the open space to explore. I even had to hop in a kayak to fetch her ball when she refused to wade into the cold water, which felt like peak dog mom adventure energy. Slippers were clutch since the floors get cold and they were perfect for padding out onto the porch. The best moment was watching the sunrise roll in over the misty lake. Quiet, spooky, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. I would stay again without hesitation.

Super cool cave off the beaten path. Quiet area, expansive wooded area. Water flows near the entrance to the cave - pretty cool. Nice platform to set tents up on. Functions well as a camp shelter during rain, but can become smoky with a fire going. Cool Hipcamp, would stay again!

Staying at Sticky Wicket Farms was a great experience in no small part due to the wonderful host Leslie. We opted for the quiche and cinammon rolls and both were homemade, hot and delicious. Having full hook-ups was very convenient. We really enjoyed walking the drive and seeing the animals. Thank you, Leslie!!

I loved staying at this site and Bridgett was such a good host! I originally went to car camp for a few days and unfortunately it rained the first 2 days, Bridgett offered me to switch to the cabin and I was beyond grateful! Instead of being stuck inside my car all day I was able to enjoy the cabin by the lake, it was so cozy and I got to watch the rain on the lake from the covered porch, which was just magical. Despite the rain I had a great time and the property is beautiful! Bridgett is a great host and went above and beyond for my stay here.

My parents, myself and two dogs had an awesome weekend at the Harrican Lakehouse. It was super quiet, restful and exactly as marketed. It was chilly at night and we all stayed super cozy in the house and by the fire. The only thing I would recommend to future guests is to bring your own pillow and coffee pot if you and your guests drink multiple cups. The one provided is just a little small.

1 night at The Harrican Lakehouse

I stayed at this lake house on a road trip around Kentucky while visiting from Oregon. The location is very remote and private and the hosts were great! I even ended up adopting a puppy from them lol The lake is gorgeous especially at sunrise and sunset. There’s chairs on the wrap around deck, multiple kayaks, a fire pit (bring wood), and a dock. The lake house provides you with hand soap, towels, bedding. The kitchen has utensils/plates/bowls/pots/pans, a radio, a fridge/freezer, stove/oven, and sink. Bring your own dish soap and paper towels if needed. We spent the day fishing on the lake and doing a puzzle inside. I’d bring extra blankets if you are visiting in the fall as it gets chilly. Overall, a wonderful stay and I’d definitely visit again if I’m back in Kentucky!
