Scallop Tyme RV Campground was once an abandoned camp covered in worthless Sand Pines. There was a cabin and sheds in the center surrounded by chain link fence topped with barbwire. The timber was donated and used to fuel nearby electric plants. Once the four acres was cleared and cleaned, the idea of a RV campground started.
During the early onset of Covid, my family remained in our adjacent camp because there was no Covid in the area and plenty of Covid at home. Cleaning and clearing the acreage gave us something to do. While cleaning the old, abandoned camp site inside the chain link fence; we found an old boat and motor, a Kawasaki motorcycle, and numerous civil war and Vietnam war memorabilia. The campground was opened in June 2020.

Keaton Beach county boat ramp is 2 miles away. This area is known for great scalloping in the summer, red fish and trout year around. There are several guides in the area for your fishing or snorkeling pleasure. Amenities include fish cleaning table, BBQ grill, fire ring, and picnic table at each site. Plenty of room to park your boat. Most of the RV sites are shaded. Sites 1, 2, and 5 are 50 amp. Sites 3 and 4 are 30 amp.

Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. Manatee Springs and Fanning Springs consistently offer up close sightings of Manatees without the crowds of Crystal River. There is also a boat launch on the Suwannee River just minutes from the farm for boating, skiing and fishing. Bob's River Place is minutes away.The Gulf of Mexico is just 40 miles away. The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

The local Camping World in Lake City FL has a dump station, so I advise dumping your tanks before you arrive.Nice quiet area. Partially wooded, partially open grassy field. If you want total privacy and want to boondock (no hookups) you can go the the far edge of the field and park partially in the woods.

We loved that it had a pole barn & concrete pad. It made the trip nice because it rained one afternoon...but having cover it didn't bother us. It is a great property. The river was really clear. There is a great dock & ladder to get in the water. ( it was a bit chilly, we didn't do that. ) But great for the summer.
Cell service isn't great, so download movies if you watch those at night.
We heard an owl at night, the stars were beautiful. Nice & quiet .... very relaxing.

Our stay at Oak Hayvin Retreat was truly magical. The property is incredibly quiet and secluded, making it easy to feel completely immersed in nature. Vince and Haylie were so welcoming, and accommodating!.
The retreat is tucked away in a beautifully remote location, and we were fortunate to see deer, wild turkeys, and countless birds right on the property. The walking trails were peaceful and well maintained, and the thoughtfully built tree stand was such a special touch. Sitting among the trees, listening to the birds and watching wildlife pass by, was an unforgettable experience.
This trip meant so much to us and is one we will always cherish. Thank you, Vince and Haylie, for sharing your beautiful property. I would highly recommend Oak Hayvin Retreat to anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy some truly serene, peaceful time away.

We loved it at Nealsnest! It wasn't a planned stop but glad we did. Stayed 3 nights in our RV. Quiet and peaceful with tall trees all around the property. Less than 30 min to Cedar Key and beach. I had to work, so set up my laptop on a nearby picnic table for a few hours. Also love the astroturf next to the RV site and badminton court. It may not be natural, but it feels great stepping out onto it and is visually appealing amongst the dry sandy ground. Only a handful of sites, but plans for more are in the works. It's a perfect setting. Owners live on the adjacent property. Tina was very responsive and greeted us when we arrived and later checked in to make sure all was good. Also can't beat the price. I'm sure it won't stay that way as they expand and become more well-known. Highly recommend!

At night, the stars dominated the sky, like a cloak studded with sparkling diamonds. I highly recommend this property.

This is a well appointed site directly on the beautiful and clear Santa Fe River with access to the Ichnetucknee River via boat and the neighborhood parks. It is great for families or groups camping together. There are two covered full RV sites, a sandy beach and solid covered boathouse and fishing dock. We had a great time in cold, drizzly weather and can’t wait to return in better weather to fully enjoy the properties amenities.

Super quiet and very relaxing spot. I stayed 2-3 weeks. Great for my dog and me. My only complaints would be. No mailbox and no place for trash. There is a small trash can onsite but trash man doesn't come down that road (no one comes down that road really...but, its nice like that) therr several dumpsters in town to use. No problem. If you want privacy and just need the basics, it's a great spot. I didn't fish or use the canal but it is full of wildlife from all types of birds, wild boar, coons, crabs and fish of some sort. Kinda neat
