Scallop Tyme RV Campground was once an abandoned camp covered in worthless Sand Pines. There was a cabin and sheds in the center surrounded by chain link fence topped with barbwire. The timber was donated and used to fuel nearby electric plants. Once the four acres was cleared and cleaned, the idea of a RV campground started. During the early onset of Covid, my family remained in our adjacent camp because there was no Covid in the area and plenty of Covid at home. Cleaning and clearing the acreage gave us something to do. While cleaning the old, abandoned camp site inside the chain link fence; we found an old boat and motor, a Kawasaki motorcycle, and numerous civil war and Vietnam war memorabilia. The campground was opened in June 2020. Learn more about this land: Keaton Beach county boat ramp is 2 miles away. This area is known for great scalloping in the summer, red fish and trout year around. There are several guides in the area for your fishing or snorkeling pleasure. Amenities include fish cleaning table, BBQ grill, fire ring, and picnic table at each site.  Plenty of room to park your boat. Most of the RV sites are shaded. Sites 1, 2, and 5 are 50 amp. Sites 3 and 4 are 30 amp.

Scallop Tyme RV Campground.
We had a nice stay at Scallop Tyme campground. It's 5 sites in the middle of a large cleared property surrounded by trees. Very pretty and quiet. We were happy with site 1, it had a nice clean picnic table, fire ring and bbq grill to use. Stars were amazing at night! The hosts were very friendly. Thanks again!!

Peaceful-Very Accommodating!!

Don’t let the long unpaved but we’ll graded road trick you; you are on the right path to Scallop Tyme CG! You will pass various RV parks but fortunately David and Gloria’s property is where the road ends. Surrounded by acres of wilderness this community of 5 sites, each with individual fire pits, tables and grills is well cared for and maintained by our hosts. Septic, water, and electric-garbage containers are conveniently placed. Our hosts checked in with us and offered information regarding the surrounding towns, beaches, and sunsets. Gloria graciously took my husband and I on a tour of the marina, beach, and where to purchase the best barbecue. We appreciate all their assistance as well as the other fellow campers with maintenance on our rig-an incredible and generous experience💕-Bode enjoyed his stay as well🐶

Quiet Keaton Beach Stay

Quiet. All one needs if bathroom is self-contained. Only a few miles from the beach and boat launch. If you want quiet and water - auteur for fishing or stop fretting, a very convenient, pleasant place to stay.

Very quiet and peaceful stay. Owners were super nice. Went for a quick fishing trip. Close to boat ramp and local restaurants.

If you like quiet, far-out away from traffic, you'll like this place. Good verison phone service, and a nice trail into the woods. Everything worked, nice hosts, all's good.

Scallop Tyme RV Campground.
Site 5 was very private. All sites were occupied but it was super peaceful and quiet. All hookups were in great condition and worked perfectly. Only place we saw close to the boat ramp and beach with shade and privacy.

We loved our stay at Scallop Tyme! Beautiful and quiet, off the road. About a 5 minute drive to Keaton Beach. It was easy to find and the 5 sites are in the middle of a large open field, so there is plenty of space to maneuver your RV, even big rigs. Has an outdoor sink to clean fish. Our hosts were so sweet! They offered us advice on our furnace, recommended some fun things to do, and gave us bug spray for the bugs. You’ll want bug spray, but this spot is totally worth the bugs!

Hidden Gem!

Such a wonderful, hidden gem! Off the beaten path, but close to every needed amenity and a beautiful little beach! Great for families and kids. We stayed three weeks and were seriously considering extending even longer! We would definitely stay again if we come back through the area!

Beautiful, Safe, Quiet Spot off the beaten path! Close to the beach and lots of Florida swampy wilderness to explore nearby! Full hook ups and friendly, helpful hosts! Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a serene and low-key place to camp away from traffic, noise and people then this is the place! There are 5 sites (with all hookups) lined up in the middle of the land surrounded by large beautiful trees. We were happy to be in site 5 at the end so that we had a view of the land.

Private and peaceful location!
Scallop Tyme RV Campground.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about this location! Very private and quiet place to spend time in the area. The hosts are so friendly and truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They gave us tips on things to see and even the time of sunset at the local beach. Our only regret is we could not stay longer. We will definitely add more time at this location on our next trip!

Open acres & 2 miles from Keaton Be
Scallop Tyme RV Campground.
We brought our small camper and love this place best of all!! You are 2 miles from Keaton Beach and a pretty beach/playground called Hodges Park. The campsite is perfect! Large area to ride your bike if you want. Dave & Gloria feel like our friends now, truly. We’ve stayed 2 weeks. He even has a gate at the entrance if you want to lock it. We have T-Mobile phone carrier but had no service at all in this town/area. Dave told us about a Verizon Jet Pack and that helped so much with internet. There’s a Marathon gas station/groceries- restaurant called, “ Walter G’s”, and you MUST go there. The best home cooked food and baked goods. It’s only a few miles from the campsite. We went down to Keaton Beach and watched the gorgeous sunset many nights. Dave also has firewood for you to use for your fire pit. They are gracious hosts! If we ever come back down to Florida , we’ll look for them again!

Scallop Tyme RV Campground.
This is a very secluded site, you are in the middle of the field, each site has hookups and has trees between, if you are looking for a place that is quite and just want to relax this is the place for you. David and his wife do not live on the property but have a friend that comes around to check on things. We arrived very late and david met us at the end of the main road and took us back to our spot. His wife was very helpful, letting us know where the closest laundry, stores and beaches were. We were there a couple of weeks and no one else was there, we were able to let our dogs run. This was just what we needed!!

We absolutely loved their hipcamp site. It's what my idea of camping is. They are such wonderful people. I love the privacy that this property has. Easy to get around, pull through and large spaces. Will be back soon.

Scallop Tyme RV Campground.
We stayed at Scallop Tyme for a week and had a great time. There are 5 sites and we were the only ones there. Sites were level, easy to position for hook ups. David was a great host answering any questions that came up. After staying in some pretty packed RV parks recently it was a great quiet get away. Signal for our internet and phones (Verizon) was strong. Smaller beach community and being in the trees made it feel a lot more remote than it is. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.
