The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

It’s a slice of paradise hidden away from the hardships of society’s rat race. You can see to the bottom when the sun hits the water at the right time of day. It’s crystal clear blue like the springs that feed the rivers. This is truly a foundation of youth!

There are unbelievable sunsets, restaurants, marinas, public boat ramp, and Management Areas for hunting all within a short distance. This is a golf cart community that you can bring your own golf cart or rent a golf cart in town. Steinhatchee is known for the Fiddler Crab Festival each February on President's Day weekend. It is also known for scalloping from 6/15 - Labor Day. Fishing is always good inshore and offshore. There are guides that you can hire to guide you, rent a boat, or bring your own boat to catch your fish or scallop. Then you can take your cleaned catch to a restaurant to have it cooked the way you like it. Most weekends there are fishing tournaments going on. There is a Community Welcome Center and Library with a playground for the kids along the River Road. We have Steinhatchee Falls for a visit.

We are a small, privately owned, RV park in Steinhatchee, FL, and we offer two sites. Off the beaten path but close to it all, we offer a nicely landscaped property with a sub-tropical feel. Connect with nature as you enjoy inshore or offshore fishing, scalloping, fresh seafood, breathtaking sunsets, and more.
Lined with bamboo, our first site, named “Big Bamboo”, offers everything you need for your home away from home. Our second site, “Crabby’s Cove”, offers a private, wooded cove dressed with landscaping and the feel of Old Florida.
Our back-in sites can accommodate almost any size RV. We had the best time tent camping at Jewel’s Sink. There was a drought causing low water levels and we had overcast skies during our stay, but despite having subpar weather conditions the sink was still turquoise blue and stunning! The surrounding land the sink sits on is open and gorgeous as well. We woke up to deer in the field which was an extra treat! The owner was very kind and responsive. Already planning my next trip back!!

Tom and Judy were amazing hosts, very kind and helpful. The property was beautiful. Our large group enjoyed exploring and spending time with cows, sheep, and donkeys (especially the kids). At night, the stars dominated the sky, like a cloak studded with sparkling diamonds. I highly recommend this property.

Brand new nice & level concrete pads, gravel areas freshly dressed. I only stayed one night, next time I'll stay longer. Easy walk to restaurants. Property is compact, walk it down before you pull in. I will stay again!

It is a beautiful farm to hang out and have a nice evening and feel safe overnight. Highly recommend for a camper or RV. I would also highly recommend it for car campers ortenters but you need to be OK walking a bit to have a pee.

This place is just what you need for mental health camping. Whether with a group or solo it’s a great place to go. The cave is really cool but the water is really cold. Only went in to my calves. The host, Judy, was really nice and accommodating. Definitely going back with or without friends.

What a cool spot! We did the pasture on the first night and "The Sink" on the 2nd night. Both were really cool. The meadow by the sink is where I saw all the deer, really neat. "The Sink" itself is really neat- very cold and refreshing, you should definitely take a dip! Again, Tom and Judy were outstanding hosts, we'll back!
