A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats. We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like. Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle. We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want than this may not be your kind of place.

Also, take time to fish in our pond and catch some tilapia or blue gill. The kids have a blast fishing as the fish are easy to catch. THE SPACE: The site you'll be staying at is close to the owners house. There are 2 parking spots on asphalt that are available for the campers vehicles or park directly at your site. We are approximately 12 miles to Port Canaveral (Cruise Ships, restaurants, beaches). Close to Kennedy Space Center. Close the Cocoa Village where there are plenty of restaurants and bars as well as some neat shops. Plenty of areas to swim and fish are near by as well. Jetty Park, Cocoa Beach also about 30 minutes away. If your lucky enough to see a launch from the driveway, its a real treat. Or you can drive over to the edge of the Banana and Indian Rivers and park along the road. PLEASE NOTE: We live on a one way street with no turn around, so its best to pull down the street and turn wide into the driveway and open the gate (If we have not opened it for you). Pull all the way to the end of the driveway (or up to our Montana) and back to the west where the site is located. This will put the utility side of your RV right up with the pedestal. Welcome to Tyde Water Manor, As full time RV travelers for 5 years, we wanted to give back to the RV community. Passing through the area and need a place to stay or park? Going on a cruise and need a place to park your RV but not at the port parking? Park your RV and have it plugged in to stay cool and keep your fridge on so your food doesn’t go bad. We have one pedestal with 30 amp and water (No Sewer, Self contain your black and grey water) We have one back in site on gravel by a large Bird of Paradise. We are several minutes off Interstate 95 if traveling North or South and need a rest. If you’re looking to stay a few days there is plenty to do and see in the area. We are approximately 12 miles to Port Canaveral (Cruise Ships, restaurants, beaches). Close to Kennedy Space Center. Close the Cocoa Village where there are plenty of restaurants and bars as well as some neat shops. Plenty of areas to swim and fish are near by as well. Jetty Park, Cocoa Beach also about 30 minutes away. If your lucky enough to see a launch from the driveway, its a real treat. Or you can drive over to the edge of the Banana and Indian Rivers and park along the road. PLEASE NOTE: We live on a one way street with no turn around, so its best to pull down the street and turn wide into the driveway and open the gate (If we have not opened it for you). Pull all the way to the end of the driveway (or up to our Montana) and back to the west where the site is located. This will put the utility side of your RV right up with the pedestal. This will put your camp side facing the house. Then when you leave just swing out the driveway and east down the street (Ideal for motorhomes and small to medium trailers)

Your hosts do not live onsite however, will be available to you during your visit. We are friendly and as non-invasive as we can be. We do love meeting our guests and are available for any questions that come up. Our primary purpose when developing this property was to create a safe space for children with special needs and their families. We are a no judgment zone and adhere to Hipcamp's inclusion policy. We had a great time camping at this preserve. Michael is very responsive and doesn’t hesitate to answer any questions you may have. When we arrived he had someone ready to show us how to get to our spot which is secluded so very peaceful change from the busy state parks. The site was clean and had great space and coverage. We booked a 2nd night. The outdoor shower is amazing. We stayed on lots 2 & 4. Will rebook on 4 (just my preference). Its all about what you're looking for. I haven't stayed at a site that has recent pics on the hip camp site. Don't expect it and you wont be disappointed. I LOVED THIS PLACE. I dont know any tent campers that would not love this place ( I know 0 Glampers). There are hidden treasures all over this property. We had a ball. Enjoy and DONT SKIP THE HONEY! There is reportedly an alligator in the pond. I didn't see it and we all left better than we arrived

This is a working farm and venue with great spots to car camp. The preserve on the property is a beautiful old oak hammock to explore. We saw gators, otters, heard coyotes in the distance. Fun spot to unwind for a weekend.

3 nights at Taste of Old Florida

All reviews were in accordance with what we expected and experienced - we had one overnight stop going south and returned for another 3 nights going north. We were the only ones at the RV side of the pond so it gave us lots of privacy. Lovely people, nice outside shower and no other “noise” than the traffic on the road. But that is just the way it is. Having alligators in the pond made it also exotic for us. An easy spot to find and close to the main highway too.

I was actually Patrick’s first guest! Old Mill Landing is a beautiful, peaceful spot surrounded by nature. I stayed here to bass fish on Lake Okeechobee and it was the perfect base for the trip. The property is well-kept and has a great old Florida feel. Definitely recommend it!

Always a great time… the hosts Christine and Cal are very nice…. The horse are adorable…. Great place to get away, safe and secure place to unwind, but close enough to the world to go eating and exploring.. can’t wait to go back again soon..
