Weekend Trip to Surfer Beach And Tree Sanctuary
Had an amazing and relaxing weekend. The campsite itself was very private, and the proximity to the “private-ish” beach was the best part. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was the perfect private getaway. The only downside was that the mini fridge at our site wasn’t working, so we had to rely on our cooler. Aside from that small issue, it was a 10/10 experience. We’ll definitely be back for the peace and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Surfer Beach And Tree Sanctuary
What a great place! First of all, you are just across the street from the beach and from a turtle sanctuary!! It’s one of the last spots on the Atlantic coast of Florida which is not overdeveloped. I hesitate to broadcast it too much as it is so special!
John runs a small surf shop and a surf camp. So there’s a low key, cool business attached to the property (filled with great books to be loaned). The yurt is quite comfortable and has all the amenities you need. It’s very quiet and surrounded by jungle like foliage. I highly recommend this place. We will absolutely be back. My only suggestion is in summer note that they have mosquitoes. It’s manageable, but prepare in advance.

We loved Sandy’s Swamp. She’s a great host. She met us on time and showed us around. As advertised. Roughing it with perks. Our first morning in the swamp started with 4 hours of thunderstorms. We chilled in the large dry screened porch. Would have been horrible without it. Kayak launch was simple. Will be back when it’s cooler. Maybe a day trip so we can sleep in AC after a long shower.

I stayed here with my children for Mother's Day Weekend. We were delighted to find out that it's on an island! Very close to the beach and state parks. They are in the middle of building a new platform to put the dome on. I was a little sad we had the view of a half-finished construction project, but for future visitors that will be an amazing upgrade. DON'T SKIP THE BUG SPRAY!!

We came out for our 1 year anniversary and had a blast! Huge fish! A zip line. Nice screened in area with chairs and a porte potty. We went adventuring in the woods which we love to do! There were 4 of us, two of us have not slept in tents in decades. During our entire stay, we did not run into any other campers. In the morning we even used the canoe to see some of the birds and scenery in the area. Over all we had an even greater time than anticipated. One of the best features was how secluded the area felt.

I enjoyed canoeing around the swamp, zip lining, a campfire, eating breakfast on the ropes course platform amongst the trees and spirits, doing yoga on the floaty boat/dock, and walking the trails looking at all the gorgeous flora. Sandy was attentive, so very helpful, and also gave solitude and privacy. Such a gem for back woods camping. Loved it and will be back.
Oh… and do eat at the line cabbage at sunset.

Tent
Sandy’s land was a perfect blend of adventure and comfort. The fire pit was great for cozy evenings, and the screen room kept us sheltered from bugs while offering a nice space to relax and place our tent. The toilet was also easily accessible and clean, which was a big plus. The zipline was an exciting and unexpected highlight, and the kayaks were provided for water exploration. Overall, a fantastic spot for a memorable camping experience!

16 ft campervan
Was nice place to stay. I stayed a few nights seen 2 rockets shoot off. You are close to the space center and to cocoa beach. But it's just outside the busy area so you don't hear traffic or any other noise. Has water hookup which is nice. Few bugs but nothing unexpected or overwhelming. I would definitely stay another night. Also a plus there is a home in the circle with art cars and a fun lit up house at night. Everyone I met including the host were very nice. I might try to move to the area I was very impressed. Thank you again.

32 ft travel trailer
With kids
It’s a really basic parking spot, but the price is right for what it is. We were able to park no problem and enjoyed our chat with the other camper there. There is a sharp corner coming in to the neighborhood, but with a swing wide our truck and 32’ camper made the corner. The ground is pretty uneven so bring your levelers and chocks. We didn’t use the spigot since we had water on board so I can’t speak to that.
The best part was how close it was to the launch site! We went to a nearby bridge to watch the first launch of the night around 7pm; and we didn’t realize there was a second one happening the same night at 10:30 until our whole camper started shaking with the noise! We ran outside and caught the tail end of the launch from right outside our door. So cool!
The biggest downside of the site is the bug situation- there’s a water filled trench at the rear of the property and I’m sure it produces lots of bugs. Additionally there were lots of stray cats around and therefore cat poo in the sandy spots.
Overall we were happy with the spot for one night and the price!

2 nights at Surfer Beach And Tree Sanctuary
My best friend and I enjoyed our first yurt camping experience. John, the onsite host, was kind and very hospitable. Location is walkable to the beach, though I wouldn’t recommend for families with small children. The location is quiet and private.
