Weekend Trip to Hartwoods

My significant other and I stayed here for a night! It was super secluded and quiet, which was wonderful! We are roadtripping with our travel trailer to Maine, and it made for a perfect over night! The sight was clean well taken care of! It also had plenty of space to maneuver around!

We had a good sunset on the woods, place is neat,well kept. We love that it was private and the dogs were off leash.Definitely gona go back again sometime,the provided electricity and water was so useful. One of my go to places in the future.

Kathy and her farm was wonderful! I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place. Loved waking up to the horses in the morning. The dogs and cat were super friendly as well.

We pulled in late in the afternoon …as described, it is a short distance from I 84 . We tucked in under a large tree behind their home. The ground was very level . Jo came right out with the extension cord we had asked to use since the temperature was going down to 23 . Once set up we took a lovely hike up through the woods and agricultural land that border this property. Lovely views ! We will definitely stop in again as it is very hard to find a place to park our camper on the way south from Maine in the winter months. There is a lot to see in the area but we are usually just passing through. Thank you to the hosts .

Great secluded spot. We stayed over 1 night in New Year’s Eve, on the way to Maine. Even though we arrived after dark the site was easy to see and get set up. Very quite stay and even with heavy rains there was no problem getting in and out. Turns can be a bit tight but with careful navigation we didn’t have an issue.

Unlike my past review, which contains an error Hipcamp has yet to fix, this spot should always have a thumbs up. It’s peaceful, quiet, dark, woodsy and full of stars. Rick is super responsive to messages and I have enjoyed staying here. I camped but boy, that yurt is beautiful. The property is perfect for all your overnight needs. Thank you !

This was a lovely quaint spot. There was a trail on the property which I didn't expect but enjoyed the walk(i found the creek) .I met the owner and his cute dog. They were just great. This was a well needed quiet spot. The electrical and potable water, of course added to the experience for me.

Such a beautiful plot of land in the country side of NY. Absolutely am loving the stay! Kathy has been such an amazing and accommodating host! We decided to extend our stay, help out around the farm and enjoy the surrounding cities and sceneries! The horses are full of energy and love seeing the heartfelt moments of caring for them.. 10/10 would recommend!

The meadow we occupy was once the farmers property that I grew up next to at my parents farm house. When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here. We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site. We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same. It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property. We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.
