Learn more about this land: Tent sites are next to the pear orchard. Choose any site. There is no need to meet with the host when you arrive. Follow the red arrows. Do not proceed the home located at 1071 Fruitridge. Look for the Hipcamp sign and red arrow markers and turn left into the orchard lane. Location: Use google maps and locate 1071 Fruitridge Rd in Placerville, CA. When you get to 1071, which is a house on the right side of the paved driveway, look for our Hipcamp sign in red, turn hard right into the orchard and follow the red arrows past a wood barn, and up to a small red shed. At this point you may camp in the meadow next to the shed or you may proceed to the next meadow over to the left (follow red arrows and look for umbrellas). We normally only have one site occupied per evening. Ocaisonally two sites will be occupied. The sites are very private and quiet as this is a large, private ranch. You can park close to your tent site. 2WD / 4WD access weather permitting. We offer 3 sites in a large meadow area. Max of 4 persons per site. RV's welcome but we do not have hookups. RV's will be parked next to our barns surrounded by pear orchards. Fresh drinking water is available in the tent meadow area. Hot showers are now available at $10 extra per nite per site. A gas BBQ is now available at a common area. Please don't move the BBQ. Deer, wild turkeys, geese aplenty. Ample walking opportunities on our ranch and wild forestlands and amazing granite rock outcrops. Visit the South Fork of the American River (you can raft in summer!) Hunt for old gold mines on our place and, maybe, find some new ones! This was the most fun quick getaway for our families! Exactly as described, beautifully maintained property, incredible hosts. High end blankets and towels, very clean dry flush toilet, and so many cozy seating options. My kids loved the welcome shed, and there were too many thoughtful personal touches to mention. The location is incredible. we explored grass Valley and Nevada city, both had a great selection of well appointed shops and restaurants and were less than a 15 minute drive from the property. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Our second visit and the accommodations were even nicer than last. We enjoyed viewing the rural landscape from the cozy bed. The room had everything we needed including coffee, mugs, and a microwave. The town of Lincoln is slow paced and friendly. A soak in the hot tub was so relaxing. Great weekend getaway.

We overall enjoyed camping at this very private orchard! There was a pond right next to us! We saw lots of wild animals including a flock of quails, deer, ducks, and turkeys! The showers were extra charge but we did enjoy the warm water and nice shower after being out in the wilderness. Only complaint is that the toilet and shower room has two big windows that do not have any privacy covering so we felt exposed. Also the door to the laundry room didn’t close all the way so someone could accidentally walk in on you while you’re doing your business or showering. We just ended up changing in the shower which at least had curtains. Otherwise, nice camping spot!

This was by far our families most relaxing camping trip! Jim and Kathy were the most wonderful hosts. Every detail for our comfort and relaxation was thought of for this hip camp site. The location is great and we loved relaxing and watching the animals across the pond all day long. Each morning the friendly cows would come to the fence close to the site to say good morning. Jim and Kathy even included our daughter in helping with the animals during their morning routine. We will definitely be back!

We were camping at Animal lovers paradise last weekend. What an amazing experience. This camping site definitely deserves this name! We made it there a group of 11 campers and two dogs. The location is remarkable with a lovely pond where we enjoyed the local paddle boat and our paddle board, The Creeck crossing the campsite is amazing where we all enjoyed walking in the water, snacking on blackberries, and chilling during the day. The campsite has all you need for a good camping experience: a barbeque, toilet, shaded tables, Chairs by the gas bonfire, a swing and a hammock. The owners went above and beyond helping us with anything needed and recommending great things to do. The kids had a wonderful experience tubing in the American river towards Lotus park! Jim was amazing helping us fixing an electrical blown mattress that it’s cable was torn. In summary, if you’re looking for a beautiful location to camp hosted by wonderful friendly people, animal lovers is the place!

Loved our stay! Kelly was incredibly welcoming. We spent most of our time in the pool and had a beautiful evening grilling and enjoying the view. The drive in is pretty long but very scenic. We stopped at a flower farm on the way home and also saw some breweries and wineries we want to check out next time.

This was my favorite hipcamp experience so far! There are so many small details that made a big difference: toys and treats for the dogs, paddleboards for everyone to play and lounge on, sunscreen and towels, a very comfortable bed and senior dog approved dog beds, the list goes on! It was the perfect way to spend a hot summer weekend and we can't wait to come back to this little paradise on the creek.

Awesome place in the heart of Apple Hill! Three ponds with plenty of fishing access (caught 11 in about an hour in the evening). It’s a pear farm with unlimited picking and a rich family history in California’s ecological transformation. WILL absolutely be returning even being from just down the hill in Sacramento. The graded area for camping isn’t huge but with just three sites it was more than private enough with fresh potable water, a huge bathroom within eyeshot and a perfect symphony of frogs and birds to fall asleep to. Only regret is staying only one night and not having enough time to explore all the massive property had to offer in just under two days. Total gem of a hipcamp, including the owners, and excited to return for even just another overnight. A stones throw from a big and little city with a lot of history. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

This is perfect for a weekend getaway with your dogs and the hosts have everything perfectly setup for you. Just bring food/drinks (+ personal items) and doubt you would need much else. The electric grill has grill/smoke/bake/reheat/etc functions which offer a wide range of easy meal options. Or make it really easy and go to some of the nearby restaurants, options range from fine dining to burgers. Berries grow along the creek (would be great for pancakes!) where we spent most of our day. The luxury of 2 stand up paddle boards, a kayak, plus other large floaties was like no other vacation rental we’ve stayed. I don’t think we’d change a thing…

Fun and relaxing little spot with all entertainment you and your pup could need. Enjoy floating and splashing in the creek, lawn games or just sitting by the propane fire pit. We had a great time with my elderly dog playing and napping. Access to the bathroom is in host's garage, so you are basically in their back yard, but they gave us our privacy and every detail was thought of. There is also a little road noise so if you are looking for silence and solitude this may not be the place you're looking for. We didn't mind and much appreciated everything that was provided making our stay easy and relaxing!

Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork Cosumnes river. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the our house (literally 200' away!). Our property became a pivotal point of fighting the fire in our community known as the “Ant Hill Army”.
