This is perfect for artists, writers, yogis, and those seeking the tranquility of off grid living. We have 40 acres of land with beautiful hiking in every direction. Our campsites have a fire pit, picnic table, and access to an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen! The accommodation includes staying in a 850 square foot wooden yurt with bamboo floors.  The building has a wooden stove and propane wall heat. We also have a fridge, stove for cooking and propane wall heater inside the yurt. There is a futon that sleeps 2 plus a kids size bed, but please bring sleeping bags or bedding.  You can also put up two tents next to the yurt for more sleeping. We have now added also an attached kitchen and bathroom to the yurt so we have an indoor shower and full kitchen! There is a detached bathroom with a maintenance free composting toilet and simple outdoor kitchen.  You will have access to cooking utensils and cookware, camp stove, and fire pit. There is a solar system so you have access to electricity and wifi. The drive from Willits is 25 minutes, with only the last 5 minutes on a dirt road.  You can do the drive in any car, unless the occasional snowy conditions.  There is plenty of parking next to the yurt for easy unpacking.. To access the coast you do have to go back through Willits and use highway 20.

2 nights at Roseman Creek Ranch

Katie hosted me on my first solo getaway away from my young toddler, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to reconnect with myself. Katie is an extremely interesting human and an experienced host, and everything was clean, well thought out, and a pleasure to use—especially the outdoor shower where the water was deliciously hot and ferns tickled my legs. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful and the stars incredible. I spent my mornings making art at picnic table, and in the afternoons drove fifteen minutes in either direction to the charming towns of Gualala and Point Area, where I found groceries, delicious shrimp tacos, brick oven pizza, river kayaking, a public library, a used bookstore, and more. It was a truly special stay and I hope I get a chance to return. Thank you, Katie, for the restorative retreat.

I really enjoyed staying on this land. The cabin was beautiful and really set up with lights and accommodations, and the land is just magical. Also, Ben is such a good host and really made us feel at home. I would definitely recommend this spot.

4 nights at Forest Haven Trees

What a fantastic stay! From the moment we arrived, James was incredibly helpful and welcoming. He met us at the road, guided us in, and provided a radio so we could stay in touch with him and the host, Linda throughout our visit—which made us feel safe and supported, especially while navigating the area or heading out on hikes without cell service. The setting was peaceful and breathtaking. Absolute silence at night, with stunning views. Watching the sunset and sunrise from the deck was magical, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on—seriously, we slept like rocks. We loved the outdoor space, especially the charming outdoor sink setup. It added to the rustic charm without sacrificing comfort. The main house is just up the hill—close enough in case we needed something, but still far enough to feel totally private and remote. And a special shoutout to Buddy the dog! He popped by now and then to check on us, which we appreciated. He felt like a friendly guardian making sure everything was good in our little corner of the woods. Highly recommend if you’re looking for peace, comfort, and just the right amount of adventure. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

We loved camping and Cobbing at Rosemond Creek. Beauty everywhere...meadows, flower gardens, birds, redwoods, mazanitas, and oaks, stars at night, sounds of ocean waves...lots of peace. We had an unforgettable stay at Ocean View Redwood Forest! We spent three nights in the Redwood cabin and felt so cozy and at home the entire time. The location is perfect—tucked between the ocean and the majestic redwoods—making it easy to explore both. We loved discovering the surrounding area and are already looking forward to coming back and trying another one of the cabins on the property. Ben, the host, was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Truly one of the best weekends we’ve had!
