Absolutely magical. We stayed at Brandon’s Hipcamp property for 6 days with a group of 9 (including 2 kids, 2 teens, and 3 dogs), and it was nothing short of amazing. The property is spacious, peaceful, and perfectly secluded—exactly what we needed for a true digital detox. The views are stunning, the air is fresh, and the quiet is the kind that resets your soul.
Our group—rambunctious and varied as it is—felt completely at home. The kids had space to roam and explore, the teens found their own pockets of peace, and the dogs were in heaven. It’s rare to find a place that feels this welcoming to both kids and pets.
The hot tub was a favorite—especially in the evenings when the stars came out and the only sound was the wind through the trees. Pure bliss.
Brandon went above and beyond, not only helping us pre-shop for groceries (including the most delicious farm-fresh eggs we’ve ever had), but also cooking a multi-course dinner that everyone—from picky eaters to foodies—raved about. His stories and knowledge of the property’s history added so much depth to our experience.
We came looking for a retreat and left feeling refreshed, connected, and already dreaming about our return. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful, family- and dog-friendly escape with a host who truly cares—this is the spot.

Navarro Ridge Retreat
We had the best time at Navarro Ridge. What a special place! All the privacy and quiet you could ask for and plenty of room for extended families. The kids loved sleeping in the tent. So worth adding on. And the farm fresh eggs. Such a thoughtful host. We hope to be back.
This house is beautiful, if you are looking for rustic this is it!! A rustic cabin in the woods! The house is tightly tucked between a forest and it’s so beautiful! The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Cleaning supplies, dish soap exc. I feel like the pictures don’t even show how beautiful this place is, the host is very nice and responded to any questions I had. You are also very close to a couple different beaches.

Excellent kitchen and game offerings in rustic accommodations. Recommend arriving before dark and making sure you have the door code, as it gets really dark and there’s limited cell reception before you join the cabin’s wifi. Then enjoy exploring! We brought our dogs and had a lovely time.

Loved the cabin on Navarro Ridge. Beautiful views, great access to north or south coast, our family want to return next summer! The hot tub was an extra that we enjoyed. Wildlife included deer, turkey hens with chicks and a banana slug! Kitchen was wonderful and had supplies to cook and clean up.

This place was amazing! Fit my whole family with plenty of space for hanging out, playing games, or soaking in a hot tub! There were lots of nearby activities and the views were incredible. Also loved having a fire pit! It was a perfect place and will absolutely book again!
Very comfortable place. Nice and rustic and perfect for a house in the middle of beautiful redwoods. The host was very helpful with any questions we had. The kitchen was amazing and had everything we needed to feed our group of 8. Plenty of beds and room for all. The hot tub was an amazing bonus.
Location was perfect and close to the beach

We loved our stay at the Navarro Redwood lodge! It was so cozy and welcoming. Loved having space for our pup to run around and thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. Would love to come back for another stay! Thanks Brandon!
This was a great place to stay! It was off the beaten path in a lovely forest setting, and so so quiet. The hot tub was amazing, especially with the outdoor shower! Nicely equipped kitchen, including dishwasher. We would definitely stay here again.

Great house and kitchen, but we had some issues with bug bites on some of the kids after staying at this property.
Also, note that one of the bedrooms has a partial wall, so there's no privacy from noise in the living room or kitchen. Late sleepers should stay downstairs.

Navarro Ridge Retreat was the perfect location for our trip with 3 dogs. It was secluded enough and was only a short drive into Mendocino. The kitchen had everything we needed and the host Brandon was super responsive to my questions.

Brandon’s cabin in Albion was a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of the rat race! Nestled among the red woods and freshly stocked with firewood, we thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi, views from the balcony, and the quaint character of the town. I would love to visit in the summer to enjoy access to the coast and the river!
