The Klamath River is just over the levee—a short walk from your site—with great access for fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water. The river is world-famous for salmon and steelhead fishing (license required). August and September are peak fishing months, so expect a few early morning engines from folks heading out. We’re only 4 miles off Highway 101, far enough to enjoy peace and quiet without traffic noise. Wildlife is part of the experience here, so please stash your food at night to keep critters out of camp. Outdoor lovers will find plenty to explore nearby—hiking and biking trails, the Trees of Mystery, Jet Boat Tours, and, of course, miles of redwood forest to get lost in. A few things to note: Firewood available Cell service can be spotty, depending on your carrier. Free Wi-Fi is available and reaches most of the campground. Electric car charging is $10 per charge. Please arrange ahead of time—50 amp service is limited, and you’ll need your own adapters. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Kids and laughter are always welcome. Dry camping, 30 Amp and 50 Amp pull-through sites available if you are going to be coming in after 10pm , just shoot me a text and let me know and I will give you instructions as long as you send me the text before 9:00 PM

The area is known for its world class steelhead fishing and is unparalleled in its natural beauty. Relax and free you mind while camping on 120+ acres of private property under starry skies with almost no light or noise pollution. You are not alone on the mountain as other people live here in the wild. You only have access to the campground and a nearby pond. A locked gate with code access. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. The road is maintained by the county and used daily by others that live and work here. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road. The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite. The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here! The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area. Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Kirk can tell you about his experiences with this and other phenomena on the property.

A short hike down our trails will lead you to a summer time swimming hole that dreams are made of with jumping rocks and a lagoon. A meadow filled with foxes and fruit trees. Star gazing every night. Coffee with a river view and mountains. The ranch is full of gorgeous manzanitas and hammocks. We have enough creature comforts like a flushing toilet, beds, and kitchen that you can enjoy your time in nature even if it is out of your comfort zone. Usually guests from the city, arrive and breathe a big sigh of relief. We can't wait to host you and see what memories you will make!

We had a great time camping here! The site was beautiful tucked amongst the redwoods and it felt very protected and private. We had our dog with us and felt comfortable with her off leash since the campsite was so contained. It was really nice to have a bathroom and picnic table too. The short nature trail was cute and we found a few banana slugs! The written directions from the host were great and super easy to follow to find camp. Highly recommend staying on Chris’s land for your next weekend in the redwoods!

Every time I come back here I fall in love even more with the area. Shannon and Tim go above and beyond as hosts. They always make me feel safe and informed. The colors right now are magical. Listening to the leaves falling on my tent is indescribable! The grass is green and the stars were beautiful. Saw the most amazing shooting star. You can not ask for a better place to relax and for me it’s a reset. Truly one of my favorite place in the world! Book it! U will not regret it

I absolutely love this Hipcamp! It's so private (you have your own driveway and gate) and feels very safe. Surrounded by trees and farmland. Lots of cute little amenities to enjoy while there. The ground is level enough that you can just pull right in and set up. The host is very kind and responsive. Also, I think there's an owl that lives here, and he was a joy to listen to. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed RV camping on Patti's land. It was a full service pull through site. Super quiet and miles away from the Highway 101. If you enjoy quiet evenings, with very minimal cell or wifi connection then this is the place for you!

This little spot is amazing!! So peaceful and quiet- ultimate relaxation. The surrounding trees are spectacular, the air feels crisp and clean, all you can hear is the breeze blowing through the trees. It was really nice to have an indoor potty (with motion sensor lights) too. We had our 3 dogs with us and they could just kind of mosey around the camp site. There is a very short little trail they enjoyed checking out. We pulled our tent trailer which was a bit tricky getting into the camp site but the owner happened to run into us on the road and was happy to help navigate us in. The road up to the site is very steep in places but we did fine in our truck. It takes about 15 min to get here from the highway. Totally worth it for this tranquil little spot. We'd definitely stay here again!

Coastal Forest Farm Camp is a wonderful spot with really great hosts. Nestled not far from the ocean (an easy bike ride), the Redwoods and Crescent City it was a wonderful base camp for a lot of exploration, hiking and relaxation. It was exactly what my wife and I were hoping for as the last camp trip of the season. We highly recommend.
